Sense of history about the place. Fabulous historic building. Proximity to the centre yet peaceful. Calm atmosphere and helpful staff. Lovely breakfasts!
Only improvement I can think of would be tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Lovely hotel, we had a very nice room the staff were very helpful, lots of choice at breakfast. the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the market square.
You could feel how historic the building is, within a historic town. Because it was so old, the floors were really creaky and you could hear a lot of activity on the floor, but that's not a surprise for historic buildings. The breakfast was excellent, which was really convenient to enjoy every day before going out on the town. The location of the hotel was also perfect.
Location and character of the hotel
Price for the garage could have been a bit lower
Comfortable hotel with charm
Breakfast very good, lots of character with all the wooden beams. Very close to the city centre (5-6 minute walk). We had a large spacious room.
Would have been nice to have tea /coffee making facilities in the room
Nice old building and great location
Staff very helpful
Breakfast same day in day out Bar area to small
Ambience and dining area.
Excellent staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. Good restaurants in easy walking distance. Magnificent building
Walls between bedrooms very thin and when unsociable guests in next room came in very late and talked in normal voices we heard every word. Worth checking with hotel if there are quiet rooms.
Location Building Staff Breakfast
In the town bit just out of the hustle and bustle. Great on the canal location. Interesting building, good breakfast choice
Being picky now but bed was two singles joined, pillows were cheap synthetic type, some of the modern decor was out of place with the old was of the hotel
It was perfect, our room over looked the canal, it was quiet and only a short 5min walk to the square.
I couldn't fault this hotel in anyway
Traditional building by a quiet canal, easy walking distance to the Markt.
Lovely old hotel - lots of charm and character. Fantastic building with a room with a canal view!
Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was lovely...but a little small and so, almost inevitably, somewhat crowded and not as comfortable as it might otherwise have been. Still acceptable...but it was a case of guessing the time when it might be at its quietest.
old building, nice site
breakfast very poor
Spacious Classic Very good Experience
Sound coming from other rooms
Very disappointed with how I was treated by the old man behind the counter. He was rude when I asked for clarification regarding the charges. All the other staff were professional and friendly.
Breakfast spread is great, easy walk to centre of Brugge, comfortable rooms
Fantastically comfortable bed and excellent breakfast.
Dead flowers in vase in reception for the four days that we were there.
The hotel is in a good location right on the canal side. It is far enough outside the main square to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to not need transport to walk around all the main sightseeing attractions. The breakfast was buffet style (very nice too) in a lovely quaint oak beamed dining room.
No shower in the bathroom, only a bath. On one occasion we came back to find the maid had left our room door unlocked, we found this a bit disappointing as although there is a safe in the room, we had some of our personal belongings left out - mobile phone on charge etc!
Fantastic location in quiet part of the town but close to main attractions. Very stylish old building.
For some guests lack of a lift could be a problem.
Everything was perfect with the exception of two small things that weren't a big deal, WiFi was a bit spotty on the top floor where we stayed (room 25) and on the second night we had some odd smell coming from the bathroom which I can only assume was some amonia based cleaning solution but with door closed and the window open it eventually aired out. Overall the hotel was breathtaking, staff was extremely nice and helpful and we would definitely stay here again!
Nothing really, everything was great overall!
The hotel matches with the towns feeling.I don't thing I could stay in a modern one.Good breakfast, helpful stuff, clean, comfort bed, very good location, next to the canal and not far from the centre
The rooms are not big, some carpets need to be changed.
We enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is in a really quiet back street but also close to the centre.the breakfast was also really good, I would defently recommend this hotel.
