Friendly staff comfortable rooms good breakfast central location

This hotel was worth paying the extra money for the deluxe room. The architecture was amazing, being a 15th century building. They tried to keel as much of the original building as possible. We got the view of the canal and it was very romantic. Breakfast is really good and the hotel is located close to the centre.

Staff were very attentive and approachable. Our canal view room was great (room number 1). Location was 4 min walk to Markt in a quieter part of Brugge, ideal.

Breakfast could have been a little more healthy - could have on with more fruit an veg. Room could do with brighter lights.

Close proximity to city centre, historic building by the canal, lots of character.

Pricey, no shower! A real gap in modern hotels. Rather gloomy rooms, not helped by poor lighting in the bathroom. Bar service (no decaffeinated coffee, poor selection of drinks) not up to the good standard expected for the price.

The hotel it's self looks amazing, the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was great with the beams showing just the whole place took mine and my girlfriends breath away a little bit it's just a really beautiful hotel!!

The one and only problem I had with it was the our beds were two single beds put together and you've got that line that goes down the middle, your never going to beat just a normal double bed

Breakfast in a cellar by the canal. Staff were superb. Close to all the sightseeing areas. Period hotel with charm. Adds to the experience of visiting such a beautiful quiant place.

Soundproofing between rooms could be better. Old building is a bit noisy - creaks. Parking is away from the hotel in a multistorey (but safe and secure). Only cold food for breakfast.

Hotel management was based on the cheapest and low over head possible. I don't know how this hotel rewarded 4 star??? No restaurant, no room service, hotel breakfast was not add good as 2 star hotel. Very old staffs and unfriendly. Hotel can categorized as 2 star hotel

Room small but charming with view over canal as requested. Friendly and helpful staff. Good, varied breakfast.

No stand-up shower. Getting out of bath difficult and dangerous as it was narrow and very, very slippery. A rubber mat would have made it easier and safer.

We only had a bathtub, and so the showering was a bit cumbersome and messy!

Liked the old world quirky look and reel to the hotel. The location to the canals and old square was perfect.

The facilities in the hotel were limited. For the price you would expect a hairdryer and at least shower screen for the shower. Water was going everywhere onto cheap laminate flooring. Not good. Hotel parking very expensive and it's not on site.

We loved the architecture of the hotel it is very traditional and has not been spoilt with modern lifts. The location next to the canal is lovely and only a few minutes walk to all the places of interest. The staff are very friendly and speak excellent English.

Hotel was perfect for our needs - a base from which to explore Bruges, with breakfast thrown in for good measure. Staff were friendly, and we even made use of the handy bar. Would stay here again/

Rooms were quite dark. I gather the superior rooms have been refurbished but the budget rooms haven;t been given the same treatment yet.

This hotel is a little gem hidden away from the main squares, perfect. The room was very well presented and decorated beautifully within keeping. The breakfast was lovely and everything was fresh. The staff were amazing. Very helpful and extremely polite. We loved the place. I will definitely be returning there and most certainly recommending it to anyone who asks me about Bruges. Well worth a visit.

We loved the character of the hotel and the extremely friendly staff who could not do enough for us to make our stay in Bruges comfortable. The hotel is in a wonderful location and I would recommend it to all my friends

The only negative point is that you could hear noises from the next door rooms but we were on the top floor looking over the canal - perhaps it was just the location of our room. It would not put me off a return visit!

The hotel is in a very quiet location and is very well priced. It also provides a good breakfast service in a nice canalside room.

No proper shower facilities (just a bath attachment). No lift (a steep climb to the second floor). Small room.
