What's not to like?
The staff was always very nice. The hotel is spotless as well was our room. Our room overlooked the canal and well worth the tiny bit more in price. The included breakfast was amazing and kept my wife and I full til Dinner.
The location The beds were comfortable Excellent breakfast
Positive attitude of staff Good choice at breakfast Cleanliness of room and hotel
Nothing springs to mind
The service, breakfast, room, location, the whole. experience in this hotel was excellent.
Lead light windows, old world charm, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Location lovely, excellent value vert quiet.
Excellent location; quiet and yet within easy reach of the centre. Characterful and comfortable hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Good facilities and delicious breakfast!
Lighting in bedroom although tasteful was rather poor. It would have been nice to have the option of one bright light for reading. Also the acrylic bath was very slippery with a handle on one side only and no optional mat.
Position of hotel. Nice bar & breakfast area.
Hot water supply inadequate, we had tepid water for the 2 days we were there & couldn't shower! Although reported on first morning & told it was fixed it was not. For this reason we would not return here. No offers of compensation from manager!
Good size room Very comfortable bed Convenient location Excellent breakfast
Old world character and wonderful beams in bedroom
Not much, the hotel exceeded our expectations!
We loved this hotel, we had room 16, with a beautiful vaulted ceiling and plenty of room for us and our 18 month old daughter.
Lots of stairs but we knew that before we went
LOVELY HOTEL AND STAFF, GREAT LOCATION !
Location good, right next to the canal.
Parking a major problem. Stopped to unload cases and got a parking ticket even though we had a reserved place in the hotel. 20 euros a day.
breakfast area, bar area, were warm with a friendly atmosphere. The rooms were very spacious
The only downfall to this hotel is that there wasn't any tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, also when I tried to book a triple room it said they only did double or single rooms when we arrived we were put in a triple room I could have saved money by only booking 2 rooms not three!! But I didn't let it spoil our short break away.
The place has a character, unique style, nice views, great location, friendly staff and very good breakfast.Perfect for a romantic weekend.
Room could be a a big bigger with a better sound isolation.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The character of the building really enhanced our holiday experience. We visited the hotel 30 years ago, and it is as lovely and welcoming as we remembered.
Creaky floorboards floorboards and the snoring coming from other rooms was a little disturbing! A shower and hotter water would have been nice.
i went with another couple who had a double room ,they told reception that the heating wasnt working who said they will tell maintenance in the morning, but heating never got sorted, there room was very basic ,we had a superior which was very nice
Breakfast was wholesome and full of choice
The night receptionist was surely and it wa very late when we arrived. He said there was no food at the hotel, so we had to fight our way through terrible rain to find somewhere into town. We found out later that we could have had soup and a sandwich at the hotel. We were furious when we found out as our journey to Bruges had taken us 11 hours by car and we were exhausted. He didn' care.
Nice old building with modern features and comfort a short walk from the centre. The city is beautiful and compact.
Brugians seem an unhappy lot and service is rarely with a smile.
Very helpful reception staff, recommended great restaurants and places to visit. The hotel is in a quite area and not far from the city centre, it's very old and has great character.
Checked into room 7, the shower didn't work and the walls were paper thin, could here the conversations clearly from the next door room. We moved rooms the following morning and had no further problems.
Lovely property, nice breakfast and good location.
The breakfast was incredible value, and the staff very helpful, as I was unwell and they couldn't have done more.
For older people the stairs could be an issue as no lift, also there is no shower over the bath and as the bath is quite high there could be difficulty with getting in and out.
