Being an old prison the building has been transformed to a modern comfortable hotel. Although dark painted halls they add to the atmosphere. The rooms are basic but comfortable.
The location is strange there is an emergency services station next door but you don't hear sirens. There us a canal and river close by but the town has little food options.
A real breath of fresh air in this very buzzy region. Perfect place to stay close to airport.
Friendly staff willing to help.
It is calm, clean, nicely designed former jailhouse (?), breakfast was good, it is quiet and quite fast to reach from airport by cab., friendly reception, no fuzz, personal.
No inhouse restaurant but a good restaurant nearby though.
Everything was almost perfect. Breakfast was really good. Staff, first class.
Hotel is located in the ex-prison building, with appropriate interior, grid painted on doors, etc. Good breakfast and everything. Strange air conditioner behavior in the room, which didn't cause any problem.
It was a bit tricky to find hotel at the dark by car, but that's not big problem. Housekeeper broke in in the morning. But i still rate this hotel with max rating :)

Excellent decor at a quiet and wonderful location , how be it far.
We came down for breakfast and realised that the bacon was all gone, so we made the lady in charge aware of the fact, and her answer was that we should just take something else, then whiles we were still talking to her she just turned and left us.I called her back and made her aware that that altitude was rude. She suddenly could not understand English anymore. This same woman had earlier asked for our room number. As if that was not enough, when we checked out and had paid our bills at the reception. The desk clerk instead of apologising, proceeded to defend the rudeness with the excuse that it was not intentional, and when I made her aware that an unintentional insult is still an insult. She then told me that "they Europeans" don't appreciate when people raise their voices. I don't know what she means by that, but it sure had a racist undertone which I did not like. I may have African roots but am European the last time I checked. Judge for yourselves.
I missed my flight back to NYC and this place was remotely close to the airport so I booked myself a room. I had no idea where I was because this was a layover, but I found this place online and don't think I could've picked a better place. It was very modern, clean and I can't really say anything bad about it. The staff was accomidating and friendly. The room was spacious and just fun to be in. Quiet, lots of privacy. Big TV, nice decoration, my own desk and shower. Comfy queen bed. The wifi was fast, the breakfast in the morning had a great variety. The other people in the hotel seemed to be well-off pleasant folk. My overall experience was great. The price was also decent compared to other hotels in the area which I looked up online.
Still, the price is a little expensive. 100 euro for the cheapest room. The location was a little sketchy at night, I got hungry around 11pm and tried walk around the town by myself but nothing was open and I got a little creeped out. Went back to the hotel, ended up going to bed hungry eating the peanuts in the mini fridge. The breakfast made up for it though. I would totally visit this place again but I don't think there is much to do around it. Who knows.
Spacious and well designed room. Quality of breakfast. Friendliness of the staff.
The magnetic key system that did not function well and I had to try many times before it is unlocked and the key needed to be remagnetized.
Very french Super nice friendly Staff, I just like french/belgian people. Clean Rooms **Tall ceiling on all rooms, lets you get more air, not claustraphobic Open ceiling rooms.
Goth like 2nd floor black doors walls Let us move away from Prisons Past Avoid black Dark historical past colors 2nd floor Doors were so Dark I hit my head
very quite (room on the inside); good service and nice breakfast; good value for money
Unique opportunity to spend the night in a real historic sight - decorated to match history. We loved it! Breakfast was amazing!
Nice and clean, Only five minutes walk to the City with several shops. Great breakfast. Good value for the money
The staff was quite friendly and helpful; however, there was no staff on site after 11:00 PM. The staff seemed unaware of local restaurants, other than one on a canal that was quite expensive. The location was good for access for train service to Brussels Central Station; however, the train station was about a one mile walk from the hotel. The rooms were relatively new, large, clean and comfortable.
There is very limited on-site parking. The parking lot is shared with other venue's and not owned by the hotel. The breakfast was adequate; however, it consisted mostly of breads, cheese and cold meats. Scrambled eggs were available and plentiful; probably because they were cold, with no pretense of heating, all three days we stayed at the hotel.
One of the best places I've ever been into. It gives a little bit of "prison" feeling. Location is great, staff is nice and kind. Recommended location.
Good location, close to airport, nice decoration!
Newly decorated so still quite smelly.
it is a bit far from zaventem airport but good location, close to vilvoorde city center.
Good location, parking lot, spacious rooms
For the 'security' reasons the windows in the rooms are locked, so it is not possible to ventilate the rooms properly. Strange concept, as other hotels install chains, so it is possible to slightly open a window and allow fresh air to flow.
The hotel is nice and charming. I recommend it to people who look for an accomodation in a "design" environment
Ground floor room I stayed in was a little bit too noisy
Nice and very clean rooms. Good breakfast.
Very interesting place with own story, new, clean and cosy rooms, good breakfasts, green and peaceful location (with wild rabbits around), in 15 min by car to Brussel (10 min to Atomium), free parking and wi-fi.
Good for traveling only by car, soundisolation in rooms is not perfect, but it's not such important ))))
The reception and people are very nice, had to leave early at 4 o´clock but they made a breakfast to take away! The room was very neat in a historic building, so it is not a regular hotel. Beside this, it is near the airport.
It is a bit in an new, somewhat remote area. The location is good but with navigation still not that easy to find.
・Reasonable price ・Quiet location ・Modern accommodation ・Good WIFI connection ・Friendly staffs
It was perfect If fresh vegetables had been served on the breakfast.
Interesting, special location and ex-jail building refurbished.
A little far from anything such as big city
