The breakfast was really good.

It might be to expensive for what you get.

It was far too exensive. We booked a room with seaview. The balcon was not clean, the room was old, the bath room was old, the carpet was old, ...Summary, I expected for that price 217 € a luxury room and not an old room. We were very disappointed!

Magnificent Building, unique position at the sea front. Excellent breakfast!

Staff couldn't find our booking.com reservation. We were lucky they could give us similar rooms as we selected through booking.com!

The whole hotel was dirty, the furniture in the hotel was over-used and old fashioned. The carpet in the room had stains. The wall-paper in the room came down. For breakfast you had to wait. In the room was smelling old. Looking at the prices they want for a room, the hotel ist really a shity place to be. I was complaining two times. The first time the room services brought us what they call a bottle of champaign. The second time they reduced my roomprice from 135 € to 105 € a night. Thanks for that, but I believe that it is important to write about this place so that other people will not be negativly surprised. Stay away from that hotel!!!!

Staff from reception unfriendly and unprofessional. Asked for robes to go to the sauna and after tried three times the final answer was no robes available. Full hotel with the restaurant closed. An hotel needed to be refurbished. No value for money.

The size of the hotel was impressive and very nice, The rooms were clean and tidy, however the rooms were of a lower specification than I was expecting.

Not one of the above, it was terrible the room & the whole of the hotel was deplorable. It was advertised as a 4 plus hotel, I have stayed in many hotels all over the world, its real ranking would be 2 star if that. I took the "romantic package deal" and all we got for this was a horrid bottle of vinegar that they called wine, nothing worked in the room and we had to move rooms. While the food was okay and most of the staff okay as well one member of the staff, a french women, was very rude and when we left they tried to charge us for parking!!!! If you don't park in the car park of the hotel you have no where to park. No I would never recommend this hotel to any one not even the worst person in the world it was a big mistake and its advertising is to me false so any one reading this don't stay at this place as its no palace but a dump and is trading on its location which is very good and that was my let down and why I booked. Very disappointed for the first time and having stayed in hotels all over Europe & Asia this is the worst place!

An elegant, luxurious hotel with a fantastic position on the Ostend sea-front. The building oozed historical grandeur whilst still retaining a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Lovely helpful staff, very talented polyglots, able to switch between all European languages instantly due to the diversity of nationalities visiting! We had a fabulous, amply sized room with an extra bed for our little boy. Very comfortable beds and a super, huge bathroom to really relax and pamper ouraselves in. The hotel breakfast was absolutely superb - definitely the best breakfast we have ever had in any hotel anywhere in Europe! Served in the magnificent restaurant, with a huge selection of delicious food - fabulous!

Finish of the room was not really up to standart: stains on the carpet...

Room not clean ..dirty shower curtain..bad service at breakfast...coffee machines not working...most of all after booking for two couples our rooms were miles away from each other and the hotel would not rectify it...no way a four star..building falling apart outside only good thing was the bistro bar

I read reviews before going but have to say really enjoyed the stay, for 4 start I would have expected tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but that's a minor point as you could get a cup early in the brakfast room. Breakfast which was included was of a very high standard with fresh bread and pastries brought in daily. Only downside was the bar wasn't open late so whilst we'd have enjoyed a nightcap on return that wasn't possible. Ostend is a lovely location with plenty to do for all ages, the beach is cleaned daily.

The chance of being in a building that was a luxurious building of the past

While some of the character of the building was kept, one can see that the priority of the hotel is for numbers rather than preserving the atmosphere of the thermal palace.

It was nice enough.

There was quite a queue for breakfast. All the tables were the same size only most of them were set for two persons. We were 3 and had to wait for ages while all the couples were seated before we were. Really this was not very pleasant. Specially in the morning when you just woke up.

Everything, it was a superb place our room with a big terrace on the sea front was just fantastic, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the room service food yummy and the bidtro restaurant very good. It is worth staying there to visit this fantastic building, expensive but worth it for the terrace view and sun loungers.

Poor furnishings.Towels appropriate to 2* hotel, not 4*. Impersonal due to huge size of building. Requires major rethink followed by massive expenditure
