Found that the hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was varied and had a good choice of food.. Room was great; very clean, comfortable bed and spacious. Liked the idea you could buy snacks at reception and the use of microwave!!

This was my second stay at the Astoria. It in every way mirrored my previous stay in terms of comfort, convenience, courtesy and assistance of staff. The included breakfast is good quality. Its location is excellent.

The location was brilliant - a lovely walk into the old centre, down an interesting shopping street. Hotel staff quickly sorted out where we could park and suggested places to visit too. The room was comfortable and large and well equipped with a kettle. Breakfasts were plentiful with both hot and cold food available and served in a pleasant area. The hotel manager visited each group of guests during breakfast to welcome them and check all was ok with their stay, conversing it seemed to us, in several different languages as fitted each group of guests.

Although a kettle was provided in the room, only two coffee sachets were provided and when we asked for more at reception were told that enough was provided for a "welcome" drink only. However, we were provided with addtional sachets after our request. As breakfasts were so plentiful and the hotel facilities good, the meagre coffee supplies surprised us.
