Friendly welcoming service. Excellent comms (early check-in). Expresso machine in room. Fantastic modern rooms. Homely but hotel feel. great fresh breakfast.
nothing to fault at all
We spent a wonderful week-end at Villa Chantecler in Bruges. Everything about the place was fantastic. Virginie was an excellent host, very kind and thoughtful. She gave us very good recommendations on where to eat and go in Bruges, and kindly allowed us to use their bikes. The room was tastefully decorated, spacious and immaculate. The breakfasts were top quality. We couldn't have wished to stay in a better place. Highly recommended.
Breakfast and coffee. The room was fantastic big and modern Everything is new and super clean The owners are very passionate and professional as hosts.
- owner is extremely friendly and provides individual service with very helpful information for a visit in Brugge (including - Our room was nicely furnished and spacious and everything showed that the owner is looking for details and style - high quality Nespresso machine in the room - Although the B&B is located at a busy street a bit outside of the city center, we slept well as the streets is quite calm during evening/night. - good free bikes to get to the city center that is only 10 minutes away (by bike) - wonderful breakfast with a good variety of quality food and also with freshly squeezed orange juice and high quality coffee from a Jura machine - in sum: a wonderful B&B place which shows in every detail that the owner cares and understands the needs of travellers who are looking for quality!
We found the B&B reasonably easily, as it wasn't too long a walk from the train station. We were greeted by Virginie who was a very kind hostess. She sat us down, made us tea and gave us booklets/maps and recommendations for our stay. We were also allowed use of the bikes, which really made our stay what it was! We could get into Central Bruges very quickly and easily, and it allowed us to see much more of the town that I expect we would have seen on foot. The room was lovely, beds were comfy and the breakfast was great too. Would highly recommend to anyone!
We put 'Good' on the Wi-Fi rating because it didn't quite reach the top room. However, this wasn't a problem for us and we just used the Wi-Fi in the sitting room downstairs if we needed to.
Very kind host who made us feel at home and told us which places to go and which to avoid . The breakfast was very good and it was nice to have the little kitchen area available for making tea etc
It was located very near a main road but the noise from the road was not to bad
Very friendly host. Virginie greeted us on arrival, gave us drinks and provided useful info about Brugge. The room was tastefully decorated, bed very comfortable and bathroom facilities modern. Everything was spotless. Breakfast each morning was lovely. Made to feel very welcome. Free use of bikes was a bonus. We will recommend this B & B to any of our friends back in Tasmania who are travelling to Brugge.
Just a suggestion. Maybe a small bar fridge in the top level room would be nice.
The host was great! Very friendly and gave us lots of advice and travel-guides for our trip. The free bikes were a bonus - best way to get around Bruges! The breakfast was lovely and the rooms were great - very modern, clean and spacious.
Nothing - would recommend it to all of our friends!
Virginie was lovely. She offered to make restaurant reservations for us, she gave us map and guidebook to use, directions, suggestions. Her guest house is beautiful. We had a gorgeous room which was modern within a heritage house. She has a decorator's eye as everything was so nice to look at. The breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented. We could use the sitting room and back patio. Best of all she provided us with great bikes to explore the area with. All in all, we had a wonderful time there. Thank-you Virginie.
Lovely warm welcome, they really made us feel at home (it felt like we were visiting friends!). Being able to use their bikes makes the trip to the city centre very very easy and I strongly recommend doing a bike tour as well in the 'calmer' and less touristy part of Bruges. Finally, their rooms are stunning, supermodern and the breakfast absolutely delicious!
Virginie is a fantastic host- she couldn't do more to ensure we had a fantastic stay in Bruges. Advice and local knowledge, including great restaurants, and the breakfast spread was generous and delicious. Our room was beautifully designed, very clean, modern and spacious. Comfortable bed and excellent shower! We especially liked the Nespresso machine provided. It's a leisurely 5-minute cycle into town, which we enjoyed daily on the free bikes provided. We would definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking to stay in Bruges - fantastic value for money, and you feel like you're staying somewhere very special.
Nothing to dislike!
One of the nicest places I've stayed. The host was amazing, the rooms are so clean, breakfast was great. The outside terrace is the jewel in the Crown.
Its a 20/25 min walk to the centre but well worth it. There is no doors on the bathrooms but as long as you are aware of this then it's not a problem may just be a bit of a shock if you hadn't realised from the pictures.
Very friendly hosts with excellent breakfast and free access to good quality bicycles to explore Bruges and beyond.
Owner is very friendy and helpfull, clean modern room, breakfast was fresh and adequate, situated close to Bruges centre with free car parking on street.would definately visit again.
Virginie was an amazing hostess. When we arrived she offered us a drink and helped us plan a map of what we should see during our stay. And she let us use the bike for as long as we needed. The bed was amazing! We are use to a good and big bed and this one was right up to our standards. The shower is big, clean and beautiful. The room was clean and airy. The whole place has been remodeled in the last year so it has old style charm with modern appliances and beds and paint. We would totally stay here again! Thank you Virginie for the lovely stay!
There was nothing we didn't like. All was great.
Extremely warm welcome from the owner on arrival. Offered us drinks and explained in detail about the area. Bikes available to use to get around the city.
Welcoming host who could not do enough to make our short stay enjoyable. Guidance on what to see in Bruges. Comfortable room and use of breakfast room and kitchen. Excellent breakfast. Handily placed for arriving/leaving by car, yet a convenient walk from the historic centre.

Our stay at Villa Chantecler was superb. Virginie made us most welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. She is a charming person and her accommodation is of an extremely high standard. The room was spotless and so comfortable and there was everything you need including your own coffee machine in your room as well as being able to use the kitchen facilities at any time. Breakfast was great, a lot of choice and Virginie happy to cook eggs for you and the freshly squeezed orange juice was lovely. Bikes were provided for us during our stay and we were given a lot of information about Bruges including some good restaurants where we had some great food. We would be happy to recommend this accommodation to our family and friends and would encourage anyone visiting Bruges to book at Villa Chantecler.

We loved staying at Villa Chantecler. It is a beautiful house and the rooms are stylish, spacious and light with excellent facilities. Virginie is a fantastic host and very generous with her time and resources in order for you to get the most out of your stay in lovely Bruges. Breakfast is varied and served in the equally chic dining area. Highly recommended! X
The best place to enjoy the city in the best company, they are really nice, with lots of tourism facilities and bikes!!! If you really want to be quiet around the city center, this is your place!!! Clean, safe, cool, nice and warm with no doubts.
We had to pay in cash
There’s something one must do in his life: be in Burges and stay at Villa Chantecler. The town is so gorgeous that it can be seen during the cold winter time with it’s Christmas Markets or warm Springs and pleasant summers and it must be toured on bike, I don’t like anonymous hotels when I go travelling because one has to know the people onsite, not only monuments and shops and restaurants. The only way to do it is to stay with them where they live: at home. And this is what Villa Chantecler offers: a real Flemish family hosting you in a little historical building just beside their own home. A large and clean open space room with modern and practical furniture will be your nest when at home and a 20 minute walk is the time to get straight into the historical centre of Burges (Brugge in Flemish) but if you hop on the bikes freely offered, it’ll take not more than 5 minutes of wonderful biking along sure biking lanes. And with those bikes you can visit all the town and the romantic water canals leaving them chained wherever you stop. A tasty breakfast with everything you could like is ready at your walk up: fresh orange juice and hot coffee or tea, croissants and bakeries , ham, cheese, cereals, yogurts all served in a lightful ground floor dining room. Tourist help is given on place with maps and guides and English is spoken everywhere, so no problems on the language. There is no elevator, so ask for the lower room if you have problems walking up a narrow staircase. There is free car parking just out side the house door and the address is easy to be reached. The owner of the place is a wonderful Flemish family , friendly and helpful on all your requests: nothing could be better for your stay and the photos on the web site truly prove the place.
The short time I had to stay there.
