Wonderful host. Very comfortable beds. Superb breakfast. Homely feel. Short walk to old town. (10 mins) Close to the train station.
Great hospitality from Geert. He was full of suggestions on where to go and what to see. Also, he kindly recommended places to eat and even booked a meal for us at Tom's Diner. The accommodation was first class and the breakfasts were wonderful, with some surprise dishes created by Geert each morning! Would recommend.
The stairs after a long day of walking around Bruges, we were on the top floor!! (But it wouldn't prevent us returning)
The warm welcome, the room had been furnished by someone who had thought through what a traveller might want. The breakfast was superb and very convivial.
Nothing at all.
Rooms were clean and pretty with wifi and a/c which was nice to have. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and had all necessary items. The breakfast was wonderful. The hosts greeted us with drinks upon arrival. I would love to stay here again under different circumstances when we could get out and enjoy the city.
The staircase was narrow and long. This would not work well for someone with disabilities. As it happens, my husband had fallen ill on our journey and had a difficult time navigating the stairs. We did not leave the room as a result and spent the whole evening in our room. Others in our group enjoyed the city nearby. This does not reflect on the hosts but should be mentioned in case others have issues with mobility.
Warm welcome and lots of information from Geert; exceptionally good breakfasts with unexpected hot treats freshly cooked each morning. Easy access on foot to centre of Bruges; ease of parking.
Not many places to eat in the immediate vicinity, but town only ten minutes away.
The hosts were very friendly and spoke perfect English. They offered information on their city. The morning breakfast was superb. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. They were quiet and comfortable. My sister and her husband explored the city and said it was beautiful. Unfortunately, my husband had fallen ill and we spent the night in the room and never saw the city.
This is not the best situation for anyone who might have difficulty with stairs. The stairs are very narrow and there are a couple of flights. Otherwise, nothing NOT to not like!
Situated just on the outskirts of the old city and within easy walking distance of most attractions. Excellent host, looked after us from the moment we arrived and made breakfast something to look forward to. Would definitely return.
Can't think of anything
The hosts were absolutely wonderful! Tea and cakes on arrival, invaluable information and map of Brugge .Fabulous room with fridge ( complimentary soft drink and beer) tea and coffee making facility . Excellent wifi. Amazing breakfast with added extras curtesy of Geert. Private off road secure garage for our car . Perfect short walking distance to heart of Brugge .I can honestly say this is the VERY best B+.B we have ever had the good fortune to stay in fabulous+++++
Host Breakfast Location to Brugge centre Interior design Parking
The right place to stay and have the best holidays in Brugge. The owner was very helpful, the breakfast great, wonderful welcoming, place near the center. We had all what we need. Hope to visit u again.
Geet and Carine. Room. Breakfast. Cleanliness. Practical information. Everything.
No a single thing was bad.
B&B was a 5 minute walk from the main Historic centre. Our motorbike was tucked safely away in a private garage. Geert was an excellent host, greeting us on arrival with a cold beer and a really informative guide for visiting the sights of the city. We also had a bottle of champagne in our room with a lovely note of congratulations as we were on our honeymoon. There was also a mini bar in the room supplying drinks at a very reasonable cost. Excellent breakfast, with a good range of food - also a few little extras freshly cooked by Geert. We would also recommend that you splash out on a couple of bottles of the special beer brewed by Trappist monks at a local monastery which are available at the B&B - we've sampled the 8% proof which hit the spot, but are saving the 10% for a special occasion! Bruges is a lovely city with lots to see. The canal boat tour was good value for money and gave a different perspective of the sights - definitely well worth doing.
Both and my partner really liked everything about this b&b. we only stayed one day but everything was as we like. Wished we could have stayed more. The breakfast was exceptional thanks! Short distance to the town centre good to work off those frites, chocs, waffles etc.
Our stay was exactly as other reviewers have said, our host was so helpful and we felt so at home. It was a little further out from the centre than we had previously stayed but it enabled us to see parts of Bruges that we probably wouldn't have done otherwise! It was lovely and quiet and we felt very safe there. The breakfast was wonderful and set us up for the day! All in all a superb choice for a weekend break.
Everything. It is in a good position for walking from the train station and to the old city; spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation; Geert (the owner) is friendly, obliging and helpful and cooks a delicious and generous breakfast.
There wasn't anything to dislike.
Great breakfast, friendly welcome, lovely room
Creaky floorboards from room above
The proprietor goes above and beyond with his service, advice, and generosity. He met us at the door, helped with the luggage, sat us down with a cold beverage and reviewed the tourist map with us, making excellent recommendations. The rooms are meticulously maintained and luxuriously appointed. His invitation to use the garden terrace and living areas creates a wonderful home-away-from-home experience. Staying outside the walls of the expensive and tourist-crowded old city center is a smart move, and it is only a 5 minute walk to within the walls and all the major tourist sites. Easy to access and a great value with free parking. Best aspect is the host's attention to details and efforts to make you comfortable. Wonderful breakfast made to order.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We felt at home immediately. The house and gardens are beautifully maintained. Breakfasts were amazing.
Owners are wonderful. Made as feel very welcome. Breakfasts are great. Every morning the owner made something special as a surprise. Away from the crowded tourist centre, but close enough to walk to town.
Amazing hosts-gourmet breakfasts!
Really friendly and welcoming owners. Even though we arrived quite late, there was no problem at all. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The location was really good - close to the city centre, lovely decorated rooms, very spacious bathroom. I will definitely come back!
I guess it's just a "charm" of wooden floors which make a bit squeaky noise at night; other than that - all perfect!
Everything was really good. Breakfast is excellent. Comfortable, clean and everything taken care off. Location is first class. Garage parking. Proprietor is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. A wonderful stay.
We were made very welcome and the breakfasts were excellent, so much on offer and all very tasty and plenty of it - unfortunately we only saw the note about evening meals on our last day or we would definitely had booked at least one meal during our stay, as we are sure the food would have been as excellent as the breakfasts. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished, plenty of space and storage. Our room faced the garden, which, if the weather had been better would have been lovely to sit out it, nice decked area and a lovely Mediterranean planted area. There was a lovely local bar a few doors away which we visited several times and were made very welcome, the owner was very interesting and it had a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely return to Bruges and to the Villa Des Raisins.
There wasn't one thing we didn't like.
Beautiful bed and breakfast located well without being too central.... Great facilities and welcoming hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble - amazing breakfast, just one treat after another!!
The very impressive presentation and of course its taste! The peaceful ambience. The welcome drink on arrival and comprehensive briefing of Bruges and its attractions, (we stayed for a week)The accurate direction drawn on the map. In particular the hours walk we made from The Villa to the boarding point for the paddle steamer to Damme which I would recommend..
Nothing really apart from the trivial irritantance of getting au fait with the security lever for our room door. Nothing beats a straightforward simple key for us oldies.!
