Both and my partner really liked everything about this b&b. we only stayed one day but everything was as we like. Wished we could have stayed more. The breakfast was exceptional thanks! Short distance to the town centre good to work off those frites, chocs, waffles etc.

Everything. It is in a good position for walking from the train station and to the old city; spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation; Geert (the owner) is friendly, obliging and helpful and cooks a delicious and generous breakfast.

    There wasn't anything to dislike.

The proprietor goes above and beyond with his service, advice, and generosity. He met us at the door, helped with the luggage, sat us down with a cold beverage and reviewed the tourist map with us, making excellent recommendations. The rooms are meticulously maintained and luxuriously appointed. His invitation to use the garden terrace and living areas creates a wonderful home-away-from-home experience. Staying outside the walls of the expensive and tourist-crowded old city center is a smart move, and it is only a 5 minute walk to within the walls and all the major tourist sites. Easy to access and a great value with free parking. Best aspect is the host's attention to details and efforts to make you comfortable. Wonderful breakfast made to order.

Owners are wonderful. Made as feel very welcome. Breakfasts are great. Every morning the owner made something special as a surprise. Away from the crowded tourist centre, but close enough to walk to town.

    Nothing.

Really friendly and welcoming owners. Even though we arrived quite late, there was no problem at all. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The location was really good - close to the city centre, lovely decorated rooms, very spacious bathroom. I will definitely come back!

I guess it's just a "charm" of wooden floors which make a bit squeaky noise at night; other than that - all perfect!

We were made very welcome and the breakfasts were excellent, so much on offer and all very tasty and plenty of it - unfortunately we only saw the note about evening meals on our last day or we would definitely had booked at least one meal during our stay, as we are sure the food would have been as excellent as the breakfasts. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished, plenty of space and storage. Our room faced the garden, which, if the weather had been better would have been lovely to sit out it, nice decked area and a lovely Mediterranean planted area. There was a lovely local bar a few doors away which we visited several times and were made very welcome, the owner was very interesting and it had a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely return to Bruges and to the Villa Des Raisins.

There wasn't one thing we didn't like.

The very impressive presentation and of course its taste! The peaceful ambience. The welcome drink on arrival and comprehensive briefing of Bruges and its attractions, (we stayed for a week)The accurate direction drawn on the map. In particular the hours walk we made from The Villa to the boarding point for the paddle steamer to Damme which I would recommend..

Nothing really apart from the trivial irritantance of getting au fait with the security lever for our room door. Nothing beats a straightforward simple key for us oldies.!

The breakfasts were fantastic, a lovely coffee and macaroons on arrival. We asked for restaurant recommendations and a reservation was phoned through for us on our first evening. Our car was looked after in the garage opposite. We would definately recommend this B & B.

What wasn't there to like??? A fabulous owner and establishment. We were two cousins who travel yearly to different part of Europe. Returning to Bruges was a treat. The Villa Des Raisins was extremely clean, the room was not small, and the bathroom was large. Our room faced the front of the street and after hours, it remained quite quiet and traffic was almost non-existent. Our breakfast was terrific with the owner always providing a little special treat. The Villa Des Raisins had a wonderful sun room and outdoor area which due to cloudy, rainy weather we didn't get to enjoy. But both areas looked lovely. We were able to park our rental car for two nights in the owner's garage and we walked into Old Town all the time. It is about 1/2 mile into the Old Town shops and about 3/4-1 mile into the Old Markt Square. Easy walk and our umbrellas served us well. Light rains but not enough to damper our sightseeing. Ask the owner for restaurant suggestions. We went to Tom's??? one night and found out we needed reservations ... which we made for the following evening. It was fabulous food, a bit more pricey than our usual cheap restaurants, but it was super good and the true Belgium quiet spot. We would return again. All in all, with our next visit to Bruges and Ghent ... we will definitely stay at the Villa Des Raisins. An excellent choice.

There wasn't one thing we didn't like.

The location was excellent--though not inside the "walls" of the old city, it was just a few minutes walk to all of the historic areas. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and gave great recommendations for places to eat and visit. The welcome drink was a nice touch. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. Great breakfast as well!

It is a small, very clean and quite b&b hotel about 200m outside the city walls. There is a closed parking place, the wifi connection is decent, there is a balcony where people can smoke (smoking is forbidden inside the rooms and their windows are sealed). The room was comfortable and the bathroom (private) was very clean. The breakfast is much more than fair and is prepared and partially served by the owner who is a kind and friendly guy. He also made nice suggestions about sightseeing and dining places. We enjoyed our stay and we certainly enjoyed Bruges.
