The Walburg Hotel is a splendid hotel situated in the historical centre of the city of Bruges, at only 100 meters from City Hall and Belfry. This exclusive hotel with its spacious rooms and luxury suites is in fact a nineteenth century neoclassic city castle that has been completely renovated and equipped with all modern conveniences.

Its Location first and foremost ....

The Hotel Staff are very remote and appear totally uninterested
..Parking was an issue as was the checking our procedure ..it does not
pay should your timetable run outside of this Hotels set procedures
..you will be made to wait .

the central location and the fact that there were not many other guests at that moment; the pro-active attempts of the night-guard on the first evening to assist us as best as he could.

The room was practically unheated and the answer given was that the thermostat switches the heating back over night, a feature unheard of in my lifetime experience with hotels. Given my pregnant wife and the time of year (February!) we were unimpressed.

The hotel was in an ideal location for walking around Bruges. Staff made helpful recommendations for places to eat.

Breakfasts were basic, not very exciting eg. no fresh fruit. The hotel was not very busy, it being February and cold, the room could have been warmer on the second night but when requested the heating was turned up.
