Location.Close to the beach and off the castle.Friendly staff.
The way to the beach is not well mantained. They could do better on that. The breakfast should be more variously and better served(using normal tea or coffee cups, instead of cheap plastic glasses, for instance).
Location, the sea view, parking
Reception which is nit in the rooms building looks very old and dirty The rooms needs an repainting because are not clean and have a lot of marks
price, location, stairs directly to the beach, but without laps, their own area with park and parkin
really very poor breakfast, paper cups for coffee
Rooms very clean, very nice view, very good location.
Breakfast was very poor and not tasty at all.
Superior rooms contain everything that should be in three-star european hotel.
Breakfasts are served in hotel's restaurant and that is ok but dinners are served in bistro nearby hotel. Personell of that bistro treat as like we'd been not even the 2nd but 3rd class client! I don't understand why we had to ate aside, not in the main bistro's hall. The meals were cold and made from microwave. Next time we'll book room without meals.
The housekeepers and maintenance staff were friendly and reacted super quickly. The breakfast was okay, we had fun with the communist-time cornflakes bows and paper cups. The room we were in was renovated so the furniture was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was okay.
The room had no air-conditioning/ventilation, etc., and the doors and windows did not have mosquito nets. So we could not sleep all night from the heat and mosquito bites, as if he was booked a cheap, roadside motel. In addition, the google coordinates were wrong so we were first sent to the wrong place and searched for the hotel then. We had the full board option, so we were informed the lunch and dinner would be in an outside restaurant. We were seated at the non-ventilated part of the restaurant, our meal tickets were taken, no questions asked. Then we received our dinner which was not something I would order normally, and it was not enough. Having assimilated all this, we decided to cancel the rest of the nights in this hotel and move somewhere else. The hotel's Customer Relations person explained to us that we did not read right, whatever was not written as available, was actually not available. So next time maybe we should look whether the mosquito nets are written as available! Just a note, a room doesn't have to have air conditioning to be cooled down. Oh, and we were told that the mosquitoes just arrived in August! How unlucky! Regarding the location, 1. there is no beach in Balchik. 2. there is nowhere to go without you car, basically, no rest for the driver. Overall, our mood was so spoiled, we didn't even want to go the Botanical Garden.
Clean room, newly renovated, good air conditioned, free private parking, quiet and green surroundings close to the castle and The Queen's garden
Do not buy the half board. Better have à la carte dinner on local restaurants (it's not expensive). Rooms cleaning is not a daily task, they just picked the trash and renew the toilet paper.
Friendly staff, English speaking. Good location. Pool.
It was close to Queen Maria Palace and the Botanical Garden, a 2 minutes walk, the stairs in front of the hotel would lead to the beach, on the left a sandy beach with calm water when we went, on the right the beach near the Palace with waves on the day we spent there. We had a superior room type and there were clean sheets and towels and all the necessary toiletries in the bathroom. It was a two nights stay but we visited the Botanical Garden, and went for a tan at both beaches so I would say is close enough to all of them as we took our time for all our activities.
We stayed at this hotel 2 nights in a comfortable room. Rooms are spacious with new furniture, LCD TV, fridge, balcony. The reception staff speaks English. The hotel is quite close to the beach, restaurants and the castle of Queen Mary. The internet WI-FI had a very good speed. (including at the pool). The hotel has big parking. The pool is big and clean.
no air conditioner in comfortable rooms
The room - superior room with sea view, 35 sqm, comfortable king size matress. Ask for room 21A. Another superior room is 11, with park view and interesting design with two balconies. The location - close to the restaurants at the entry of the Botanical Garden. The hotel is high on the upper terrace above the sea, but we appreciated the 210 steps down the beach, because we wanted to challenge a bit the couch-potatoes that we tend to be. The price was super-fair: 45€ / night for the superior room in high season. The breakfast is simple, more suitable for people who prefer fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt and eggs. The reception is very helpful, giving information about places to visit, making reservations if needed.
I would have appreciated a change of towels - we stayed 6 nights - but they informed us on their policy and we managed.
I'd like everything about this hotel. I think it's selling exactly what it offers, and this is very important to me. The superior rooms are great, comfortable and everything it's new. I hope the management will find a way to keep this hotel in shape for the next years or even to make it better! The pool is amazing!
We booked a room with seaview; it was amazing, the super moon and the sea were fantastic. I even liked the 200 stairs to the beach that kept us in good shape and in the evening they were really romantic... :) The staff was very helpful and we communicated very well. The staff from the hotel and from the related restaurant where we had our meals (full board) can be rated 5 stars easily.
The windows at the breakfast room were not very clean and also the floor from the pool.
Close to the botanical garden.
The breakfast was very poor. The A/C in the room failed after 1 day.
If you go on a holiday and want to spend less than staying at home this is a good choice. But that won't be a holiday...
The steps to the beach are full of toilet paper and condoms. The cleaning lady does her work very bad, the breakfast was terrible; we didn"t eat there...
location, pool, staff. I would stay again.
the place was old, but kept in good condition.
the pool the location is quite close to the beach and the sea garden the staff is very polite
low quality food for breakfast electricity stopped for 2-3 hours every day at lunch time
The hotel is quite clean. The staff is friendly. The location is perfect. Walking distance of 5 minutes till the beach and near the botanical garden. There was a fridge and air conditioning. The view from the room is really beautiful.
Among the things we didn't like were partially the breakfast and the stairs from the hotel to the beach. The stairs are really full of rubbish, and more importantly there are no lamps along them making it quite scary in the late hours to come back from downtown to the hotel. The breakfast was ok, but they have chosen the cheapest products which exist on the Bulgarian market. For instance, the cheese was definitely very cheap and not made of milk. There were no mosquito nets on the windows and the balcony door. This made it impossible to sleep well during the night because of the plenty of mosquitos that have entered the room during the day. Such a net is not so expensive, but would safe a lot of trouble to the guests. We were not able to sleep 3 nights in a row, because of mosquito invasion after some rainy hours. A small table for the balcony or the room was also missing.
30-35 min distance to beach...and many staits
Excellent value for money half-board. Free sauna and fitness. Great view of fortress
The location was good, close to the sea and to the main landmarks. It was a fairly clean place.
A lot of unpleasant things there: They asked for the money in advance, even before we saw the rooms. You can't pay by card. They didn't had any soap in the bathrooms and they didn't changed the towels either (just rearanged them to look changed). The toilet was broken.
The staff was very friendly and nice. The view from the balcony is wonderful. The room is nice. Very close to the castle.
No soap in the bathroom.
Location, parking place, the kindness of the lady of the reception.
I liked mostly the Location - close to the bus parking, close to Botanic Garden, close to supermarket and open market, close to the sea, close to teraces. Gorgeous sea view, surrounded by trees. Lady from reception very nice, always with smiling face and treating with hospitality.
1. Fact that the 200 stairs from the beach to hotel or vice-versa, could not be used after dark - there is no light and is scary and feel not safe. Fact is that it is scary even if you choose the longer way, on the driveway, but as pedestrian. You have to have a car of your own or to call a taxi. 2. I would suggest to put 2 extra blankets in the room instead of one, for cooler nights. Heating with AC is not an option for me. Is noisy and energy consuming.
Sea view from rooms (choose superior rooms) Next to the palace & botanical garden Quietness
