We had a very nice room on the top floor with a big balcony looking over the gorge ( we had specifically requested a balcony on booking). A good location close to the citadel and just above the oldest street in the city, yet very quiet. It rained hard for the 3 days we were there so we were glad to find a quirky bar just up from the hotel on the main road - don't miss it! Breakfast was far from lavish - no lovely Bulgarian yoghurt so we bought our own. Nor all staff spoke any of our languages which was sometimes a problem but they did their best to be helpful, pulling out all the stops when we nearly missed our train connection. We'd forgotten that the bill had not been paid up front - the credit machine didn't work so we had a scramble to come up with sufficient cash. |

Very clean and beautiful small hotel... There was no water, so could not take shower or wash up the toilet basin. However not anykind of discount was made to the hotelbill despite of that. If discount had been made, I may have recommened the hotel. Also all aircondition systems are installed wrong and they drop the condensation water inside the room. This causes lot of more problems in longterm. Night time was not nice to hear the sound of dripping water. |

Good hotel, well located. Room was clean and well furnished Breakfast should be a buffet. It feels a little "poor" the way it is done right now. |

The Boliari is a delight, clean, comfortable, friendly and is located in the best kept secret area in the world. Why this magnificent medieval mountain town is so unknown amazes me. If you are anywhere near this part of Romania, plan to spend at least a day here, you will be very happy with the Boliari. In a small hotel you don't really expect a full time restaurant, and there isn't one in the hotel, but the breakfast was ok. For a unique and very satisfying dining experience, try the Piccollo, it is in an alleyway just 5 minutes walk from the Boliari, hotel staff can give you directions. |

The reception staff were very kind and did their best to accommodate my wishes. I also liked the fantastic view from the room balcony. The reception hardly offers any services, breakfast is rather mean. |

The breakfast was included in the price. It was not great but I don't go to hotels to eat breakfast! They did not take credit cards |

Very warm and helpful staff; good rooms, location was slightly off the main road which led to difficulty in reaching by taxi, otherwise good Since the hotel is entirely run by ladies (didn't see any male help during our 2 day stay) asking them to put luggage was not possible, so we had to put our own luggage by stairs (no lift). |

Parcarea in fata hotelului, curatenia, personal tanar Micul dejun trebuie regandit, caci in momentul de fata este sub orice critica; Spa-ul exista doar in poze. |
