A big restaurant with life music

This trip was a present for my parents. They enjoyed their stay very much. According to them the stuff was lovely. The restaurant was very nice. The manager was very helpful while I was trying to arrange the payment.

The fact that we were knocked at the door for the check out at 12 am sharp on the 1st of January, even if we already paid for the most expensive room. A 15 min tolerance would have been much appreciated. Also, a leak on the bathroom's floor after checking in was never really solved.

Friendly staff, new furniture and nice-big English breakfast. I recommend this place for team buildings and parties.

They have to fix the WiFi. They have only 8 real IPs (!!!) and they have to reset the router each time someone wants some internet. Please activate the DHCP on that router and limit the lease time to 2h! Please ask for an IT guy to come for 30 minutes or fire the current one!

We've been to Arbanassi 4 times in the last year and this was by far the best hotel we've stayed in. The building feels very "grand", ambience is great, rooms are clean, spacious and well fitted, staff are friendly and the restaurant serves superb food at very reasonable prices. All the rooms are at the rear of the hotel with views over open countryside. In June, the wildflower meadows behind the hotel were a joy to behold. The outdoor eating area is lovely with entertainment some evenings and the menu varied enough so we didn't feel the need to go elsewhere for evening meals. Improvements to the children's play area were taking place during our stay, which provided entertainment at breakfast times. We stayed for 8 days in a deluxe room and the whole experience was really enjoyable and excellent value for money. I am already planning our next visit to the area and will definitely be booking into Kaloyanova Fortress again.

The car park area is a bit messy which detracts from the lovely pastoral views of the Arbanasi plateau from the bedroom windows. None of the rooms have a balcony so the only outdoor space is in the garden. The air conditioning in our room was struggling in early June so I wouldn't have wanted to be there when it is really hot. Our deluxe room had a steam bath and it was rather odd that it is located in the room rather than the bathroom so there's no privacy whilst taking a bath or shower. I'm not convinced that the deluxe room was ideal for us and will probably book a standard room next time. There's a huge amount of storage space for clothes but mostly drawers and I had to ask for clothes hangers as there were only 2 in the wardrobe. There was also only 1 easy chair in our huge room, so more seating would be a bonus, also only 1 extra pillow. Some of the staff spoke little English (though others were completely fluent) which made things a bit difficult at times so I will be taking a phrasebook next time we stay here.

The staff was really helpful and friendly, the food was good, location is just amazing - enjoying dinner on the terrace and a beautiful sunset, then seeing the lights of Veliko Tarnovo....

Beds were not very comfortable, cleaning should be provided at least every two days - but overall is not that bad.

Great staff, good food, nice view

It was the second time we went here...what can we say: if we came back then it's a very nice and special place to stay, close to the important city of Veliko Tarnovo.

Kaloyanova fortress is a very nice place, an old castle transformed into a hotel. An extremely big dining room in a medieval atmosphere. We had the Deluxe Double Room and I must say that this is really a big room. It would be useful a table and some chairs. The shower cabin is big enough for 2 normal persons. Everything looks great, the staff is friendly and everybody speak English. Live international music every night. If you have dinner, you receive a bottle of wine for free.

Even if we have stayed for 4 days there was no cleaning in our room, they didn't even thrown away the garbage. The hotel is a little noisy as u can hear the music from the dining room but not so loud to not be able to sleep. The music stops until 23.00 or 00.00 hours. The hotel is a little bit away to Arbanasi (1.5 km) so you should use the car as on foot it takes quite a long time.

Персонала беше невероятно учтив.. Стаите бяха от страната където не е шумно.. Невероятно красив изглед около хотела.. Детският кът беше отличен..И закуската беше невероятна :)

1) Няма табела насочваща към рецепцията на хотела.. 2) Телевизора в стаята която ползвах не работеше.. (стая 4) Дори и след като два пъти уведомих на рецепцията..никой нищо не предприе..

Избрахме хотела за кратък престой по време на уикенда си в В. Търново. Намира се извън Арбанаси,на около 2 км.Така че има възможност да си направите приятна разходка пеш. Детето беше възхитено,че ще пренощуваме в "замъка".Има хубава детска площадка и ресторант с лятна градина.Персонала беше внимателен.Стаите са напълно задоволителни.

Няма нещо което да ни е подразнило много.

Am oberservat in primul rand amabilitatea personalului, mancarea excelenta, in portii mari, gatita ca la mama acasa. Preturile pentru mancare sunt mai mici decat la restaurantele fara pretentie din Bucuresti. Amplasarea fortaretei superba, pe un deal langa Arbanassi, panorama superba, cu vedere catre Veliko Tarnovo, verdeata... excelent. Mi-a placut atmosfera de la terasa unde canta in fiecare seara o formatie (bineinteles ca nu erau manelele consacrate in RO). Voi reveni cu placere cand voi avea ocazia. Poate n-ar fi rau sa treaca pe acolo si ceva patroni de stabilimente din RO. Cu siguranta ar avea de invatat...

ploaia de vara dintr-o seara... asta ca sa nu las spatiu gol la partile negative... :)))

Zona linistita, personal amabil, mancare delicioasa, raport calitate/pret f bun. Micul dejun consistent si de calitate.

престоят ни в хотела беше съвсем кратък, за да съм напълно обективна, но въпреки това ще кажа, че "калояновата крепост" е моят хотел!!! уникален интерьор и стил. спечели ме с разположението си - на тихо и спокойно място. а за мен това е важно, тъй като имах нужда от добра почивка след натовареното столично ежедневие. посрещнаха ни любезни и усмихнати хора и мисля, че бяха такива не по задължение. хигиената е на много високо ниво!в ресторанта ни сервираха вкусни, пресни и разнообразни храни и напитки. какво друго би желал човек, за да се почувства добре! препоръчвам хотела горещо!!!

foarte frumos si placut, cu un personal foarte amabil. locatia are cel putin 3 stele.la 1 km este o baza de echitatie unde se poate calari.ai nevoie de masina, pentru ca hotelul este putin in afara localitatii.in weekend au spectacole de muzica traditionala.cu siguranta vom mai merge aici.

Amplasarea, pretul redus

Este vanduta ca si fortareata medievala, dar e o replica... oarecum kitch-oasa. Nu am avut telecomanda la televizor, si desi au promis ca ne vor aduce, nu au facut-o. La restaurant, mancarea era ok, dar daca comandai ceva ce nu aveau, nu iti spuneau, iti aduceau ceva in loc ce considerau ei. Cainele patronului si-a facut nevoile in sala de mese in timp ce luam micul dejun.

Locatia este superba, mancarea este excelenta si portiile sunt mari. Desi nu inteleg foarte bine limba cu totii incearca sa iti satisfaca dorintele. Camerele sunt curate au frigider cu minibar iar baia este spatioasa . Micul dejun copios si meniul in romana.Focul de artificii si momentele artistice din noaptea de revelion au fost binevenite.

Masa de revelion a fost groaznica si saracaciosa pentru cat am platit.Sarmalele ,,de post" de la conserva(stiu pentru ca am vazut conservele la gunoi) au fost de nemancat.Marele meniu cu porc care a costat cu 20 de leva in plus nu a fost decat o rulada fada de porc. Desi in oferta era trecut vin si sucuri ne-am trezit cu o sticla de vin la 4 oameni si un suc de 250ml si o apa plata de fiecare si daca mai vroiai trebuia sa platesti. Limba este o bariera si daca nu stii cateva cuvinte in bulgara gen : paine, branza, apa totul se va reduce la limbajul international al semnelor. Muzica a fost groaznica in noaptea de revelion...un fel de manele intr-o limba de neinteles pe care toti bulgarii dansau desi aproximativ 10% eram romani. Muzica care daca se da peste un anumit nivel se aude in camere. A fost o surpriza in sensul negativ pentru ca pana atunci totul fusese perfect mancarea,cazarea,ospatarii, muzica.

E interesant sentimentul medieval pe care ti-l da acest loc

Este f mare galagie in hotel. Peretii sunt f subtiri si se aude totul cu ecou. De joi pana duminica este si un afis in camera in care ti se atrage atentia ca va fi galagie din cauza activitatii din restaurant. Patul este total neconfortabil Micul dejun saracacios

Невероятно място, с прекрасен изглед, обстановка и комфорт. За персонала нямам думи...усмихнати, любезни, отзивчиви. Много добра кухня, разнообразно меню, приятна атмосфера. С удоволствие бих посетила още много пъти това място!

Природата, гледката, чистия въздух, градината, детския кът, оригинален,подходящ за кратък престой.

Amabilitatea personalului. Chiar daca unii dintre ei nu intelegeau foarte bine limba engleza, isi dadeau silinta sa rezolve orice doleanta de-a noastra si nu au aparut probleme majore datorate barierei lingvistice. In plus, pentru ca am mers acolo sa sarbatorim pe cineva din grupul nostru, ne-au ajutat sa comandam un tort si au creat un moment special pentru sarbatoritul nostru, care s-a simtit foarte bine. De asemenea, ne-au oferit cate o sticla de vin din partea casei pentru fiecare camera. Micul dejun foarte bogat si destul de variat (pentru toate gusturile).
