Everything: * the location, right on the pedestrian area in the city centre * the amenities * the comfortable mattress and the large double bed * the breakfast (especially the English breakfast, the sandwiches and the Bulgarian breakfast) * the lift with a glass wall to the city centre

The fact that, each morning during our 3-day stay, in the breakfast room there were no glasses, nor cups until we asked for them - although coffee, hot water for tea, and drinking water were provided.

The hotel oceanic is ideally located on the pedestrian promenade in Varna with easy access to everything, including buses and taxis. The room was clean and functional. The staff was nice upon check-in. Good hotel for a short stay in Varna.

The hotel is part of a casino, which was not loud of us, but might cause issues on a weekend. The lobby area also smelled of smoke from the casino. The room was very small (but functional). When we checked out at 3:45 am to catch a early flight, the receptionist told us a towel was missing from our room. We checked and it was not. This caused some stress for us and has never happened to me at any other hotel.

the staff was extremely friendly. i can say their smiles made up for the bad "vista" of the room i enjoyed my stay.

the room was looking toward internal yard with banicharnica inside it. all the smell was coming in.

we stayed there 3 days, and it was absolutely perfect! the location is great close to everwhere, the rooms are quite nice, beds, bathroom, shower everthing is great. We were between 3 hotels before we come and the other were 4star hotels, we choosed oceanic because of customer feedback and did not regret.. Highly recommended!

The location

The Hotel Oceanic is a great hotel. The rooms are nicely furnished, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfasts are enormous. Security is up to the minute with access available only to the floor where your room is situated - the lift is operated by a security key card. Our one night stay ended up as three nights as we enjoyed the hotel so much. Will definately be staying there again.

Excellent location, good price, very comfortable for a short city stay. Situated at the central pedestrian area. Breakfast was great.

Strange stairs / elevator. You must bring your luggage to second floor to check-in, and just then to get the elevator; after you check out you must bring the luggage down again using the stairs.

First floor is a casino. The closest one can get with a car is 80-100 m away (the hotel is located on the main square, a pedestrian area) so if you have a few bags it is a challenge.

We booked the hotel on the back of all the positive reviews on booking.com. Oceanic is a lovely, modern hotel with the friendliest staff that we have ever come across in Bulgaria and that's saying something. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a warm and smiley girl on reception. Our room overlooked the main pedestrian square and was just stunning. It was just the right size for 2 people with plenty of space to move around, plenty of TV channels and one of the best designed bathrooms that we have seen in any other hotels we have stayed in the past. The ability to listen to music while taking a shower is a genius touch. Room service is fantastic and the menu is great and affordable. The hotel has the feel and look of a 4 star hotel.

What we found unpleasant was the fact that as soon as you walk in the hotel you are hit with a strong heavy smell of cigarettes. If you have small children the smoke coupled with the fact that there are adult channels on the TV will be a problem. Also, the breakfast room needs improving. The room is tiny, dark and also filled with cigarette smoke. The breakfast quality itself is superb compared to most hotels in Bulgaria. Just order from the menu and it will be cooked fresh for you.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Efficient organization, good services. Easy to access everywhere in Varna. Good information support. Excellent price and value for money. If you are on a business or a family trip, you may feel yourself as in the home.

Very good localisation, strict Varna Center, close to the beach (10 min walk). Helpful staff at the hotel, even helped us with the taxi on the return day (5:50a.m).

Good value for money, very clean great location right in the city centre, 15 minutes walk from the beach. Very quiet for location of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Already planning next years stay.

Breakfast needs to be made clear by leaving a menu on the table as on the first day we thought there was only toast, cereal and fruit available from the buffet table but if you take a seat the waiter will come to you with a list of choices of breakfast cooked of your choice

I am absolutely ecstatic about my stay at the Hotel Oceanic in Varna.  It is right downtown, in the pedestrianized "center" of the city.  It is steps away from the gorgeous, newly repainted Varna Opera House.  A few steps further is the Cathedral, a major landmark and an architectural standout.  There are all kinds of cares and shops nearby, ATMs (called "bankomats " there).  The hotel itself is a bit hidden from plain view by a few tall leafy trees.  The building itself is old, but who would know?  The hotel has been refurbished and is absolutely modern, luxurious and comfortable.  On the ground floor there is a small, smokey casino - I did not spend much time there.  The registration is on the floor above that.  The service at this hotel is the best service I have ever had at any hotel anywhere.  Young, friendly, smiling, courteous people (something not to be taken for granted in Bulgaria) who are eager to please and make you comfortable.  Every time they saw me, they'd smile, stand up from their chairs (a sign of respect in Bulgaria) and ask me how I was doing, if there was anything they could do to make my stay more comfortable.  They helped me with directions, with phone calls, everything.  Absolutely lovely.   I spent the first night in a single room - not large, but very clean, comfortable, with a flat-screen TV, lots of channels, and free Wi-Fi. I then switched to their one-bedroom apartment.  Oh my god!  A huge flat with two bathrooms, a spacious living room with a dining table, a sofa, armchairs, coffee table, vaulted ceilings and a view of downtown.  A well-appointed modern kitchen with a stove, oven, fan, small fridge (mini-bar, really...), utensils.  I made my rolled oats there every morning.  The bedroom is very spacious and has two queen-size beds, a flat-screen TV.  The bathroom is lovely.  No tub, but still.  There are, I think four air conditioners!   For my last night, I moved to the room next door, a deluxe double.  Loved it.

Two warnings:  there is no parking at the hotel, so I had to park at the nearby Grand Hotel London, at the rate of 50 Leva per week.  Also, although there is a small panoramic elevator to the third floor, the elevator does not reach the upper floor of the apartment.  I'm sure the staff would be overjoyed to help with heavy luggage or what-have-you.

The room is a little small but good confort.

The Staff was very frendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly located in a very picturesque square in vanra, the most important monuments are just a few minutes walk from it.

the breakfast was not very ''tasty'' and unlike the rest of the staff the waiter was not very frendly. also outside the hotel as everywhere in Bulgaria there is a lot of beggar, the taxi's around will try to overcharge you. so be careful and ask advice from the hotel Staff,

Very good hotel in the centre of Varna. Very good service for the price paid. It is located on the square at the beginning of the main central street of Varna. Just follow the crowd and you will arrive at the sea. Rooms are clean, quiet and with good working airco (which you will need in summer). Staff is friendly too, no problems.

Just be aware that, if you have a lot of heavy luggage, taxis cannot stop in front of the door of the hotel, because this part of the city is car free. However, taxis can stop at around 100 meter from the door, just near the square.

Excellent and very helpful staff and excellent location. It wasn't hard to find the hotel at all, it is just located next to the restuarant and very near from the square. And within in 3 or 5 mins, there are many shops to go shopping and restaurant to eat. breakfast was served separately within 5 mins. you can have choose one menu among the several choices, and food was fairly enough and great Even though me and my friend woke up late and went to the breakfast late, the waiter/staffs are really kind. we had some problems about how to go to the golden sandy and they helped me how to get there, it was really awesome help. after we left the hotel and i found out my cellphone was gone, and i got back to the hotel to make a phone call, and they surely helped me about finding my phone, and the staff went to the places with me where i have shopped after having left the hotel and at i found my phone at the shop, Also there is refan shop which sells rose stuffs, staffs are so great, she was keeping my phone so that other customers couldn't take my phone. if you shop for rose stuff, go to the refan, on that street, there are 2 refans, but it's the first one when you walk down the street from the hotel anyway hotel Staffs are just amazing and really helpful very kind that ive never met while traveling.Also we had to get back to romania and we had no idea about bus schedule and reception desk girl, her name is Ina, i dont really her remember her name, she was really nice and always smiled when we asked several helps! Thank you so much again. When you wanna go to the beach, the hotel is located 7-10mins away from the hotel on foot. it wasn't bad at all. if you want to walk a bit Location is very near from the bus stop when you use publice transportation from the airport to varna,, also when you want to go to the other places, golden sandy etc, the bus stop is only 5 mins away from the hotel, really good location if you travel without car.

In my opinion Oceanic is the best. The rooms are clean and well furnitured, very clean and well designed bathroom. The people are working there are so kind and very helpful. Before my visit i read some negative comments about breakfast. During my visit ı saw the breakfasts are awesome. They have 6 kind of breakfast menu (Bulgarian breakfast, French Breakfast, Omlet menu, Toast menu etc..). I stayed lots of hotel in turkey and Italy, and the breakfast of the Oceanic is very very good. thank you guys for everyting, hope to see u again
