Orchidea Boutique Spa Hotel  

Nice architecture, nice room, decent breakfast.

Extremely hard to find, even using a gps. Location: remote, outside Golden Sands resort. Taxi downtown:10 leva. Parking fee/hour in the resort: 2-5 leva/hour. Important: make sure you check your room's inventory daily and report to the reception if the cleaning staff "forgets" to replace one or several items in your room (towels, bathrobes, etc) or you'll might have surprises at checkout. Noisy a/c system.

The gym needs to be improved

Large room, well equipped, good breakfast and dinner, friendly staff.

Location- about half an hour walking from the center of the resort and 15 min from beach.

Very kind and always ready to help staff, good food, nice and diversified spa, everything for incredible low prices. I would like to spend some days at every 2-3 months in this hotel.

This is an excellent hotel which fully deserves its 4 stars. It is incredibly good value for money and the buffet breakfast provided had everything that could be asked for. The room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

The booking form called the hotel 'Orchidea Boutique Spa Hotel', but the signs from the nearest bus stop (over a kilometre away) just call it 'Orchidea Hotel'; so it was not obvious that it was the same hotel. The hotel is at the end of a rather scruffy road. After walking with my luggage for 500 yards or so, quite unsure I was going in the correct direction, I got a taxi and was charged over £3 for the remaining 300 yards. The hotel has a complimentary minibus to the beach, and the minibus will drop guests at the bus stop- but that was not obvious when I made the booking. The map provided is not satisfactory- but the roads to the hotel do not appear to have names....

There was nothing

The hotel stuff was very helpful all the time. The food and services were excellent! Very good hotel for the entire family. Except the location, this hotel has amazing services for little money.

The hotel's location is a bit far from the center, but if you learn the shortcuts through the woods you can get there in 10-15 minutes of walking. If you an want to go to the beach, you can use the same shortcut and you're there in 5 minutes. Also, the shuttle bus should work more frequent!

I came for the 4th time here and everything was as always: pleasant people, large & clean room, decent price & good breakfast. The hotel is very well managed and I feel that it will be in the future. Thank you Orchidea, thank you all of you staff members!

The hotel had a nice buffet breakfast. There was numerous spa facilities though I did not use them except for the swimming pool.was upgraded to studio suite,

The info in the listing about its location is misleading. It is located at the extreme southern end of Golden Sands - far from the beaches and central area of that town where the action is . Said to be 400 yds from beach -perhaps as the crow flies. Hotel is on a bluff high above the main road, a very steep walk up hill from #409 bus. My room was on 4th floor and faced Black Sea but I could not see the beach! That said hotel did provide shuttle to beach but only from 10-4. There were lots of taxis around but they were pricey. Drivers all wanted 10 leva ($7) to take me to hotel when it was <2km away.

Everything was excellent except the location. Far from the centre of Golden Sands.

The hotel is really good for a 4* hotel, rooms and services were better than other 4* hotels in Bulgaria where I've been (Veliko, Nassebar, Ruse). Restaurant was fine as well and the breakfast was similar with the one from 4* hotels from other EU countries. They had some WiFi at first floor bar, a outside pool with pool-bar, and everything you would expect if you want to stay few days in the hotel and the spa. The hotel is not close to the beach, but I consider this fair, since you can see the hotel location on the map, so no expectations from this part.

The beach that is in reach from the Hotel (7-10 minutes walk) is not so good, so I think is recommended to use the car or the bus they provide to go to the main beach of Golden Sands - but you can clearly see this from the hotel location. Main beach is at 10 minutes drive. Even if the hotel was very good, and I would stay there again, there were some issues that would need some attention from the hotel staff. The phone line in one of the rooms (we had two) was not working, and even if we announced the reception from the very begging of our stay, and we received assurance that the technical team will solve this, nothing happened until we left (5 days stay). We asked to use the safe that was in the room, and nobody came to activate the safe. As well, we found some expired products in the minibar, but somehow this one seems to be some exceptional mistake. I think that all the issues could have been solved if we would insist more on them at the reception, but we were most of the time out, busy with other things. Anyway, the hotel is good in general, as I said.
