The location is FANTASTIC! Walking distance and public transport within meters. My bed (I stayed in room 4) was very comfortable. Very pleased with the staff, too - they went far beyond their duties to assist me - especially the manager Sybilla and one of the girls at the reception - I did not get her name, she has blond hair and was always dressed in pretty girly dresses. If I travel alone I will for sure stay there again - not suitable for families with young children, I think, because everything in the apartment is with a historical value.
The water in the shower was barely warm and the shower head was spraying in all directions. Breakfast was in the nearby "Russian bakery", where guests of the "Red house" were clearly not welcome - I did not ask why, but I got bad service there once I said I am with a voucher from "Red house" and that 3 days in a row from 2 different ladies.
- very interesting house/ flat - theater in the ground floor
- dirty kitchen - breakfast in the nearby bakery for 1,5 euro per person
The old house with shutters on the tall windows, artsy atmosphere, a large bed, a marble cake with apples (!) in the shared kitchen, great staff! Close to metro station, post office and airport bus stop (#84), at a walking distance from Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. A quiet neighborhood. Sofia was rainy that day but the hotel made up for it!
Breakfast was a bit weird, you go and get various baked goods with a voucher in a "Russian" bakery (if you're a Russian you will understand the stuff they make is not that Russian =). But the kitchen in the house makes up for it, just bring along your favorite tea!
- location near city center - very clean room and bathroom - well equiped kitchen - quietness - spacious room
- reception run out of maps of the city - breakfast was to be had at a cafe down the street which we didn't find
apparently that was the house of a bulgarian sculptor, so that's probably why the inside is rather fancy. the staff was totally kind and pleasant and very very at hand! The bus station is just 5 min away (with bus to the airport too!) and 10min away from few main monuments. You definitely should go there !
the staff working the night shift couldn't speak any english. the toilette was separated from the shower, but well, that's just my personal taste.
The building was a pleasure to be in. The rooms were clean and big with high ceilings and location was great
it was clean and cozy. silent. keeping privacy.
no sign so it was hard to find. i had to wait more than 30 minutes to be ready for the room, even though i got there after check in time.
you don't feel like in the hotel there
The staffs were really good. Also they tried to satisfy guests. And the location was also good!
Special place – it's actually a gallery. At the time of our stay there were only 3 rooms to book from... creates quite a rare opportunity for stay in Sofia.
Very central located. Quiet place.
Everything a bit ploblematic, everything took its time.
Because of a double booking I was put in a hostel nearby. Red House paid for the stay. It took away some of the experience though as it was the opening night of an exhibition (at the Red House) of which some of my work was a part of.
