Sofia is the Bulgarian capital and its largest city, situated at the foot of Vitosha Mountain in the very center of the Balkan Peninsula. With a variety of architectural styles, picturesque scenery and easy access to outdoor activities, this city is a definite must-see!
From well-preserved city walls built in the 7th century BC through to the early Medieval buildings. From the 4th-century Rotunda St. George and 10th-century Boyana Church with its stunning 13th-century frescoes to Socialist-era monumental constructions, Sofia is a real treat for history lovers.
Most of the popular landmarks are located in the Oborishte district, the most central part of the city featuring plenty of greenery, cobbled streets and the most popular landmark, the Neo-Byzantine Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
Sofia has plenty of natural sites too, including the renowned thermal and mineral springs, the primary reason Thracians established the city here before the 7th century BC. Enjoy a walk in the most popular parks, the Borisova gradina or the impressive Vitosha Nature Park with more than 6,500 acres within the city limits.

I love Sofia this was my second trip there in 5 months.
I love Sofia this was my second trip there in 5 months. This time enroute to Veliko Tarnova.
It’s a busy city. Make sure if you fly to Sofia you take Yellow cabs.their charging system is very fair and I’ve met some really helpful cabbies.
Sofia is very alive and of course there is a very strong cultural quarter there with a Univercity and lots of interesting history and art.
Some of the buildings look a bit crumbly. However, there appears to be lots of improvements being made to the infrastructure. Building being modernised and brought into the 21 st century.
Nice place.

Sofia is a town with many churches of different denominations. It is easy to walk around and the metro is very easy to navigate. You can use your credit card to tap on and off and the trains are frequent, modern and comfortable. The train line from the airport is only about USD 2.00. The Rila Monastery outside of Sofia is a recommended day trip. Our tour cost Euro 35 per person. The most amazing thing is the archaeology. Throughout the city there is large numbers of archaeology digs exposing historical buildings, with Bulgarian and English interps.

Location and historic past of hotel incluidng with an archeological dig going on of Romain ruins in front and behind the hotel make for an impressive discovery by most tourists. The size of the shower, warmed tile bathroom floors and quality towels were wonderful, but its the staff hospitality that made such an impression on use, world travelers. We look forward to our next stay when in Sofia!

Just a gorgeous city with a snow capped mountain backdrop, heaps and heaps to see and explore. The people are warm and friendly and gladly assist if you get stuck. like authentic hidden gems (old world restaurants and cafes) tucked away down side streets, with beautiful friendly staff. Every time I would go out I would take a different route there and back, that is how you stumble upon them! Amazing memories!
Simple and easy going place, friendly staff, good location - the city center is a 15 minutes' walk, and there is a metro station a few corners away. The furniture is retro Bulgarian, and so is the bathroom which features a shower without a shower cabin -.a typically Bulgarian idea found even in more upmarket accommodations sometimes. The balcony was a nice addition on a warm April night. The restaurant downstairs is operated by the same owners and it has been famous in the neighborhood.
First we have room as it was expected. Then they give me another and a facture.
The room have most necessarily things for travel. THE STAFF IS REALLY PROFESSIONAL.
THE ARE TWO REFRIGERATORS WITH WATER BOTTLES, SOFT DRINGS, SWEET CHOCHOLATES AND YOU CAN USE BANKNOTES AS WELL AS COINS. The hotel is two minutes away from the big shopping mall, the 24-hour opened
cigarretes and a famous early opeining sweet cafei. There is also a small shop with traditional bulgarian foods,
You couldn’t ask for a better location. It is right in the city centre and the pedestrianised street of Vitosha is right on your doorstep. A lot of attractions can be explored on foot. The hotel is sorrounded by loads of restaurants. Cactus which is a highly rated restaurant is 3 minutes walk and the traditional Bulgarian restaurant Moma is also about 5 minutes walk. The room was massive and it was so quiet.
Absolutely amazing stay in the center of Sofia , very comfortable and clean. The welcoming was so very friendly and made me feel right at home . The flat had everything one needs for a very comfortable stay and they went over and above, to provide even the things you don’t expect ever to find in a rented home . I am absolutely going to use it again next time I visit Bulgaria and Sofia . Thank you very much
WE needed a place within walking distance of the train station, and this fit the bill. However, we were cautioned to not walk the neighborhood alone. We did walk to an excellent Bulgarian restaurant and then to the train station the next day totally without incident. In addition, the breakfast buffet was excellent!
A beautiful hotel, that's very health focused which I liked and bamboo or memory foam pillows on request! The view from the top of the hotel in the sky bar is lovely and it's a well run hotel with friendly professional staff. If I come back to Bulgaria, I will definitely be staying at the grand millennium again.
Art hôtel 158 is really the hotel you need for your stay in the center of Sofia! The hotel has recently opened, everything is new and functional, and to top it off, the staff is very attentive and receptionists are really friendly 😁 Do not miss this hotel for your stay in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Great hotel
Large room
Center of town
Walking distance to all the tourist sights
Staff are friendly and helpful they even offered to move us to a different room when we told them about the room temperature and gave us an electric fan . Very nice people at the breakfast area.
Perfect location, a very short walk from the metro station and the city centre. Friendly, helpful staff. Free breakfast with nice rolls and good coffee. Excellent value for money. Clean, spacious room with a balcony. I'd stay there again and again. Best wifi in Bulgaria.
The blonde girl at reception is the most friendly and the most beautiful girl in Bulgaria.
The hostel is clean and nice. It is located very close to the city center. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby.
The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
Despite this terrible hotel, Sofia is a wonderful city for a three or four day trip. Good wi-fi and a solid offer of mostly Bulgarian television programs are two good things about this hotel. Other than that, I recommend everyone to avoid Apart Hotel Bon Bon.
The hotel had a very good breakfast. Not many options, but enough and good options of salt and sweet food.
Coffee machine and also for hot chocolate, that is not so common to have.
It`s located near to city center, also to the metro station and tram stop.
The room was clean, the beds were the most confortable we have had in Bulgaria, the location is near the touristic center by foot, and the person from the reception was particularly helpful and nice, making her best to help us!! Very good and affordable
the place was for Bulgarian standard very very clean that you do not see a lot
the room was not so big but for my purpose and the time of year good. Very friendly and warm
i would recommend it to other people and if needed i will go again
This is our second time staying at this hotel. The room was quiet as we requested. The staff is very friendly, assists in everything. Excellent location, we could reach all attractions, cafes, shopping centers on foot. The spa was also nice.
The service and staff especially
Vasco were exceptional. My good friend and I extremely enjoyed our stay and Sofia, Bulgaria is a wonderful city. We will definitely come back and visit Sofia soon.
The Hotel is brand new. The hotel owners are very friendly, we received tips for traditional Bulgarian food and the taxi was also booked for us. You can walk to the city within 15-20 minutes.
