Hotel Samokov

The hotel has absolutely endless activities in house. 10 pin bowling, 6 lanes; snooker room, 4 tables; table tennis; swimming pool; all spa activities; library; large lounge & several smaller lounges with bars; night club/disco; 3 large conference facilities; shops. We were given a card with free access to most of these activities. The rooms were quiet and the staff could all speak english. Sevice and attention to our needs were like 5 star service, not the rating they have. Help was at hand in a pleasant manner always. Borovets provides so many summer sports activities it would be hard to list all of them. A village to be discovered and a hotel to stay in.

Lighting could be brighter but as they are using the same 'green' bulbs we have to use then I suppose this is to be expected. Borovets prides itself on being a 'green' resort.

We though hotel was excellent for access to ski slopes, comfortable and good value for money. Bowling alley and pool was good for the children and ski boots and skis located within the hotel was also good. Food was not nice however considering how much the hotel costs it was adequate although we were only on a bed and breakfast basis.

Bed sheets were not pleasant to sleep under. Breakfast was not very nice but for the price we paid we were not too bothered and ate out.

Location is very good, activities like bowling, shooting, pool...

Definitely not a 4-star. Premisces are old, staff is not extremely pleasant, and there's a charge for the use of the sauna and jacuzzi. Rooms are very simple but clean. Elevators not working very well.

The only positive regarding this hotel is that it was practically opposite the gondola station.

Rude staff, hotel standard definitely not 4 star, front door lock did not work, shower curtain too short so flooded bathroom everytime you had a shower, whole hotel stank of smoke as there was no seperation for non smokers, breakfast quality was poor.

Rooms were of good size and resonably well equiped /comfortable. Location was perfect..... Right in the heart of the resort. Despite the average choice & quality of the food & the terrible customer service ........ we enjoyed our holiday and would stay here again ..but only until such time that a Hotel opens in Borovets that offers much higher standards of Comfort,Food & Customer Service !!

The food was not great ..... particularly the breakfast ......... But the worst thing by far was the attitude of the staff ........ They simply don't understand what 'customer service' means .....and not only to tourists, even local Bulgarians get the same low standards of Customer Service.

Nada en especial.

Very close to the ski lifts

In needs a redecoration. The spa-staff is rather rude

Das Hotel wäre eher 3Sterne Kategorie.Badewanne im Bad nicht fest verankert.Die Ränder rundum nicht abgedichtet,sodas das Wasser an der Wand runter zum Boden lief.Sonst ok.Aber wie erwähnt eher ein 3Sterne Haus.
