Location, building and excellent bed!!!
One bed table not working and the other I had to get out of bed to switch it off. Hot water was only luke warm and the shower was not working properly
Breakfast overpriced with eur 18 Gym is very Basic
The room was spacious and well equipped. Location was very central. Quiet at night.
The restaurant was closed for dinner. Not informed at time of booking or any other time up to my arrival. The restaurant was a deciding factor in choosing this hotel. The leisure facilities were not open till 12.
Very friendly staff and excellent location
Bit worn out
A grand hotel near the shops of Sofia and walking distance to the Cathedral
Unfortunately the hotel didn't have a swimming pool and the prices of the drinks and food were expensive.
location, building - interior architecture
old furniture in room, not so clean.
Perfect location, fantastic building, exquisite rooms
Breakfast is overpriced (16 euro a person), so we didn't take it
The expence cost are so high..
I ve aksed the reception desk to credit me with starwood points for my stay, they refused and the reason was because I am going thru booking.com and not directly. I always use booking com andI dont intend to change I told them. I even tried contacting them online, no success.
I have met sharpest people in this hotel if compare to Sofia. They are very friendly and polite. Our room has cleaned perfectly everyday.Sofia Hotel Balkan inside center of the town and thats biggest advantage.Thanks..
Parking, breakfast and all extra stuff are expensive
I arrived 3am and the hotel very kindly accepted my request to check out a few hours late so i could catch up with my sleep, so thank you
Place was good, we managed to get a deal on the room
Prices for everything (other than the room) were amazingly high. I know it's a 5 star, but prices for dinner were 4 times higher than what you'd pay out in the city. Same for breakfast.
Beds & pillows are not up to standard. Concierge had a poor knowledge of food options offered in the city. Generally the decor looks a little tired. Overall the hotel could do with a facelift.
The location was perfect and the staff we're really professional and polite, they couldn't do enough, the food was cooked really well and there was plenty of choice for breakfast.
Unfortunately the bed was one of the most uncomfortable one's I've ever slept on, it was too hard so not much sleep was had! I also couldn't get a very good wi-fi signal.
Great hotel in the best location to see the city.
Location is perfect! very central Staff is fantastic. They treated us like old friends! Sofia Balkan is a very comfortable and friendly hotel
The Concierge and the luggage boy
Creepy Wireless Internet and Guest Support Telephone
Rooms were great, rainfall shower+tub+detachable hose. Service was good, very wide hallways. Location is city center right next to the Vitosha walkwaypp
No coffee maker in regular and executive rooms. We were told they only have them in suites which was pretty surprising as this is offered in basic rooms in lower class hotels. Room service menu was very expensive for coffee so we went to a coffee place 100 yards from the hotel where the coffee cost 1/20 of the (20 cups for the price of one hotel cup)
Very luxurious (for me) place in the heart of Sofia. Excellent facilities and helpful staff. Typical big mainstream Sheraton hotel.
Pretty sterile despite beautiful building etc. I personally I prefer smaller intimate place but is more than adequate for a couple of nights.
Breakfast expensive. There wasn't any pen in the room
Location Concierge House Keeping responsiveness
Water not hot enough Night service irregular Takes aged to fill bath tub with water. Pressure very low
I have been staying in this hotel since last 10 years, year on year it has improved a bit. As usual a very satisfactory stay.
Spa needs upgrade!
The were very kind to upgrade my room and give me a complimentary breakfast once they knew I was a diplomat. The location is also very good.
The staff needs more training, clients have to wait meanwhile they finish their own conversation. Clients are treated like suspicious persons , that will leave the hotel without paying the bill for the mini bar or for breakfast. The guest need to pay for the parking, because is a private concession. They need absolutely to take care of the cleanliness .
