Sofia Hotel Balkan, A Luxury Collection Hotel    

Price wise , beautifull hôtel , wonderfull people , clean , à réal 5 star hôtel

Everything was perfect

I have alot of experience with travelling and different type of hotels, including very luxury. Sheraton Sofia Balkan Hotel justified my expectations as classic, shic, elegant hotel. We have stayed a short time in the building and unfortunately we didn't have time to look around (we have been especially interested in fitness ) but we have only compliments.

Food is bad and not fresh

The location of the hotel is wonderful. Right in the city center. It was clean and cheap. Very retro but renovated in a stylish way. Luxurios with a beautiful casino.

The breakfast is incredibly expensive. For 4 people it is almost the same with the price of one nighht stay. Some of the staff at the reception was not good and not hospitable. Some were perfect especially the bell boys, staff at the casino. The mini bar was so expensive. Never try to touch it.

Central, comfortable, clean. Friendly, helpful staff.

Free wifi in the lobby was veeery slow. More wellness (sauna, pool etc.) would have been nice.

Great location in the heart of Sofia, hotel provides nice environment both for business and leasure, friendly, helpful and highly professional staff

The only downside is the parking which is bit overpriced

Friendly staff but not helpful or remotely interested in assisting with questions Being placed in a room with a baby where there was a wedding on this floor with noisy music till the early hours. Not officially being informed about the wedding until we had a knock on the door at 9.23pm to say if we wanted to move rooms we could. Two hours after the baby was asleep. Having to continually get out of bed and close the large door at the entrance to the corridoor to keep some of the noise down. Smell of smoke (Not sure where from) Large shower head not working Radio in the bathroom came away in my hand exposing wires Poor tv channels 15 Euros for a single pay per view film seemed a little excessive No free wifi in the room – a common problem which a lot of hotels have but in this day and age it should be standard I think we may have been unlucky due to the wedding (I hope they had a great time) But we felt that the focus was 100% on the large wedding contingent and anything else outside of this was just an inconvenience. It’s a shame as it was our first stay and will we be visiting Sofia often in the next two years. The location is perfect but will defiantly now look for other Hotels in this vicinity NOTE: On my email from Booking.com it clearly states I will pay the hotel on departure. Yet this clearly was not the case and my room had been authorised and pre paid before my arrival. In itself I didn't mind but please tell me the truth.

Nice hotel and great location in the city centre. Comfortable, spacious and clean rooms.

Thought their prices in lobby for coffee and snacks were a bit expensive.

The bell boys were excellent!

What was there not to like about this place? Staff were impeccable with a wealth of knowledge in several native tongues. The room was outstanding (Executive) great view in the old church, the bed was Devine and decor was classic yet modern. I love this place and will definitely be back.

Amazing atmosphere and luxury. Great general cleanness. Friendly and qualified staff.

Lack of toothpaste in the Classic Suite. TV and all extras in the room required an extra pay.

The location of the Sheraton is the best possible in Sofia, with shopping and dinning facilities in close proximity, and few of the city's cultural monuments right behind it. The staff is friendly and highly professional, even a bit too much towards compatriots. The rooms and the corridors are spacey, built by the ex-socialist government according to highest European standards.

Twenty years ago, Sofia's Sheraton was an extremely elegant hotel with stylish Viennese cafe and a lobby restaurant with a cosy terrace . Now, the Viennese cafe is transformed into a casino, while the restaurant is downsized to a corridor in favour of ultra expensive boutiques which design and decoration does not correspond to the architectural style of the hotel. The hotel is clean, but nothing has been renovated since 20 years or even longer. The furniture and the upholstery is worn out. It is doubtful that the current status of the hotel corresponds to five star. The fitness and spa facilities are very poor. There is only one main restaurant and one lobby. Altogether, it is quite disappointing that the hotel is not better maintained by the operator. The building, with its superb location and qualities deserves more.

The hotel is luxurious .. I like the room it was very specious. The food was great. The lobby was wonderful. The perfect hotel to stay.

nothing ?! there was no Air condition in the rooms although it was a very hot weather ?! This hotel needs complete rehabilitation ?! More than this there is no management ?! It is the same style as I was having in the same hotel more than 4o0 years ?! Wonder why Sheraton & SPG Group are giving their name to this bad hotel ?!

Only Location

The first room I was offered was clearly smoked in before. So, had to ask for another room.

Rooms ok

Booked smoking room as stated on web, but told this time there are no smoking rooms as before, if this is the case need to update booking form, will not stay again

Beautifull building with modern facilities,very confortable bed and good service.

Breakfast not in the usual Sheraton quality and with poor price/quality relation.
