Although breakfast "a la carte" is not a bad idea, they have to work on it a little. I cannot, at the moment, point to what was wrong, because what we ate was fair enough as taste and quantity. But something didn't feel right, for a classy hotel like this.
Bar closing at 10 PM it's another weakness. Being so far from the city center, you would expect to find it open at least until 11.30 PM, so that you could sip a beer after a day of abstinence (because you had to drive in order to see all the nice places in Varna). And yes, someone can tell you to use a taxi, but even so, it is unfair to leave the city center before 9.30 to be at the bar before closing hours.
At last, a problem easy to solve: the bathroom was smelly because of the drain. A spoon of chlorine poured in there and there won't be a problem, for a couple of days. And some more disinfectant into the septic tank and it will smell right the next time.
We stayed in a deluxe room. Huge, is the first word in a description, because is what strikes you when opening the room door. Then, elegant and wisely decorated.
We were delighted to see the match between the presentation pictures and the reality. Definitely a place to stay in again. Good value for the money, friendly staff, with good English skills. And, first hotel to accommodate in which had over 130 TV stations, covering all major languages in Europe and some more.
We knew from the beginning that the hotel is far from center so we just enjoyed the quiet neighborhoods.
