Liked that it was near to town
The hotel is extremely expensive not to be an all inclusive resort for guests.
The way the staff rallied round to ensure everyone was safe when Hurricane Gonzalo hit, moving guests from seafront rooms to the main building and the rapid restoration to normal service, Andre and David on the front desk were on duty for about 48 hours during this time and many other staff remained in the hotel on and off duty to help run the hotel during the 3 days of disruption.
Having Hurricane Gonzalo
Location was fine, 10 minute walk to down town and ferry's, restaurants and shops. Also small but expensive supermarket nearby. We were there during the renovations so not everything was in working order. Great buffet breakfast. Would stay there again.
Price breakfast buffet and hotel rooms and all extra charges is somewhat crazy. However Bermuda simply is quite expensive. We were there during tropical storm Fay on and were not really impressesd by their actions beforehand and afterwards. Took a long time before they started cleaning.
Location is good. Pool is excellent. Boat to sister hotel is old but good fun. Staff are very kind -- they definitely "try" to assist.
Staff not very action orientated, "here's your key, bye bye". Had to ask repeatedly for small things, water, etc. Hurricane had just hit the island so most things can be forgiven for that, but the price ($500+ per night) is like paying for 6* Dubai and what you get is 3* at best. Rooms noisy, kind of run down. No bath tub. Slim pickings on soaps. Stay in a Bed and Breakfast and take in a nice dinner instead.
bedroom and bedding
- Great staff - Comfortable beds - Great location (quick walk to town center) - Free (and enjoyable) ferry ride to Fairmont Southampton to enjoy their private beach facilities - 1609 restaurant was unbelievably good - Staff was very knowledgeable
I understand they are beginning Phase II of their renovations today (9/2/14). Phase I of the renovations were gorgeous, with a new pool and great restaurant. I'm excited to see what the changes will be to the rest of the hotel in the next renovation phase. Will definitely go back!
It was comfortable and nice.
I have had comparable rooms for a fraction of the cost. WAY too expensive.
Friendly staff , Beautiful atmosphere
Top level service and amenities
Noise level and behavior of chldren in the pool area
The bed was comfortable
The view wasn't the best
Very friendly and helpful staff
Children running around in supposed quiet areas.
It was a maze to go to bermudianna house no sale of cigars at the bar high tips included in the prices obligatory the staff must be paid from the tips
The friendliness and helpfulness of ALL the staff.we had a wonderful stay.
Staff was VERY friendly. Excellent location as my trip was for business reason.
Over-priced Food was not great Housekeeping was poor - no TV remote control, no breakfast order sign for 2 days, same type of tea in the room (rather than 1 of each) Rooms are consistently cold (there was no heat)
Hotel Staff was extremely polite and attentive. Room was large and in good condition.
What comes to facilities the hotel is normal four star level but the price is on the five star level. Gym is fairly small and pool area could be more attractive.
The staff were particularly good, especially at check-in. We were looked after very well and our stay was made special from the moment we arrived.
Bermuda in general is very expensive.
