Surf Side Beach Club  

You have a nice view to the ocean, but no access.

The Surf Side Beach Hotel had no beach, only a pool. Beach access a long way by using the main road. The water in the kitchen and the bathrom was stinking. Two bottles of mineral water helped to prepare coffee and teeth care, but nothing else. There were myriads of little ants both side of the windows and in the room. The price were far too high for this accomodation. In addition to that Bermudian Hotels take the last night of your stay, when you want to shorten your stay. I was in all cxountries of the world but three and I never experienced such lousy conditions not only at the Surf Side Beach Hotel, but at The Reefs and the Fairmont Southhampton. It was the third stay in Bermuda (the other were 30 yrs. ago) but it was definitely the last one. At the Fairmont I had specifically asked for a quiet room far away from the elevators and I got one next to the evelator and the ice vending machine. I had to pay the stay thre week in advance with noch possibility of cancellation. It was even nontransferable and had no view. I fortunately booked the Faimont only for three day, although we stood on Bermuda for two weeks. At The Reefs we were cheated. I asked for the price for a stay for 11 days in writing and was shown an ordinary room. The four digit price appeared very reasonably to me considering the low season time which had just started. When we checked in, we got a better room with a hot whirlpool on the balcony and a very nice view. We got suspicious and asked the next day for explanation. We were informed in the afternoon that the USD 1.207 was the price the price for only one night and we had to quickly find another accomadation and found it by booking the Suf Side Beach Hotel. At The Reffs we had to pay USD 3.600 (Three nights) although we stood there only two nights.

Generously sized rooms and beds with excellent views.
