- The service is impeccable. You will be treated like a king/queen. The staff are so lovely and friendly - The hotel is (I believe) the only Brunei hotel located on the beach. This is wonderful for a day of relaxation - The free wifi is extremely fast - The afternoon tea is delicious (local savoury snacks and cakes) As a bonus it is very cheap at only 17 ringgit pp (obviously there is no alcohol available) We enjoyed afternoon tea on a Sunday and a beautiful pianist seranded everyone with classical pieces as well as current pop songs - The rooms are beautiful. The booking.com photos do not do this hotel justice, it is much MUCH better in person. Our bed was huge! - We enjoyed dinner in the onsite restaurant Pantai which was a buffet dinner with delicious seafood and local dishes. Great selection and beautiful beach front setting
- The location of the hotel is approx 20km from the centre of town, which could be construed as a negative because you are most likely to eat in the hotel restaurant....but this really is not an issue because the hotel has 4+ restaurants, serving delicious food and I enjoyed being away from the centre of town and able to enjoy the beautiful beach
All things are great & wonderfull. The hotel is perfect.
Just is a little far from the shopping area and commercial square and need taxi to get there .
The concept of our room. Nice view at the balcony. Good service.
the staff were friendly and considerate.. The beds were comfortable.. The environment and views around Empire itself were beautiful. Didn't feel like you're in Brunei at all. :) It would have been nicer to have a buggy on standby from parking lot to the accommodation.. It was walking distance for young people but a long stretch for an elderly
breakfast was disappointing.. not much choice. I was travelling with my grandma and we were given room right at the end. it was a lot of walking for her.. next time I'd make sure to ask for a room next to the lift or on the ground floor..
The heated tables in the massage rooms at the spa The pools - enough variety to find a lounger or a quiet spot Zen hibachi staff were very good
Zen was out of the lobster I would have liked to have. It is quite a large hotel so it can take time to walk to places. And there are no sidewalks to the spa/gym center.
I like most of hotel fecility and enviroment so nice
Location, good view of the sea.
The staff, just doing routine works & not responding to guests' requests well, need re-training. No Japanese TV programmes available even from the NHK channel. Strict security check at the entrance of blocks due to an important meeting by international military personnel, which sidelined general guests.
Accommodation and the atmosphere of quality
Lack of information in the room or lobby regarding what Brunei has to offer. Lack of activities when he sun goes down. Lack of variety of food. Obviously the high charge is for the room and location not because of what the resort has to offer.
the peaceful moment u get to have at the empire hotel
the food there is a little too expensive.
General atmosphere of quality. Fine structure made of top quality materials; fine granites, marbles, mosaics etc Comfortable large bedrooms with all mod.coms with large balconies. Spacious interiors and salons. Huge Swimming poolsi and great beaches. Fine well-maintained qardens. Gardens.
Food- not up to the high standard expected of a 5star Hotel. Breakfast particularly disappointing lacking variety; attractive dishes, poor fresh fruits Clientele: the Empire seems not to attract suffficient well-heeled international travellers. Although not gamblers ourselves, and not snobs, but perhaps a small luxurious Casino might attract them and raise the numbers and quality of guests, as in other similar resorts. Pls note that I find this comments slot very very difficult to use. S.Franklin
The site was lovely, great facilities, excellent staff
I am very anxious about visiting beautiful Brunei now that Sharia law is declared. To me it is hostile system of laws and anti women. Sadly, I probably won't come again
So pampered with so much of facilities provided.
facilities and pools
food could be improve
I took the ocean room and the view was fantastic. Worth every penny. Comfort and luxurious. The hospitality was awesome too. Definitely my husband and i will be back to the same hotel for a short getaway again.
Hugely helpful staff, beautiful facilities and reasonably priced food.
Shame the lagoon pool was being refurbished and most of the restaurants didn't start serving dinner until 6.30 which was a bit late for us with a 9 month old, so dinner options were limited.
Nice hotel, good place to relaxing, comfortable room.
Most restaurant not open when we stay. No selection for us we have to eat buffet if you go too late food will be run out. Quality of food good enough for the price. Shuttle bus to town to expensive.
Hotel charged twice: to my wife's debt card and my debt card also. It looks common practice to cheat foreign tourist because they know you will leave the Country.
The gradeur of the hotel as well as the room amenities were excellent
The service was slow and for a beach hotel, water sports activities were very limited
