The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness and orderliness of not just the building interior but the exterior, rooftop deck, and grounds as well. It is rare to find such excellent attention to detail in Latin America, and I was particularly pleased because we'd also signed up for a Salar tour with the same host!
As with everywhere in Bolivia (with the possible exception of Tarija), the internet is very slow at 0.43Mbps down, 0.21Mbps up, measured at 2am. But the wifi signal reached our room with full strength, and given the layout of the hostel it almost certainly reaches all rooms. Also, the shower, bed, breakfast, location, people, rooftop view, and--I must repeat--the cleanliness were all excellent. They even had enough electrical outlets in the room!
Really, I have no complaints at all. I would recommend Hostel Los Salares to even my mom with no hesitation. If only all accommodations in the Salar region of Nor and Sud Lipez were this nice!
