Hotel staff were helpful and go the extra mile every time. Brilliant.
Cafe staff are slow and extremely rude. The food is average.
Location, staff and breakfast were excellent. Best value place i have stayed in sth america
Irregular wifi but thats usual for bolivia
The location is good just a couple of minutes from places of interest and the main plaza where there is something happening all the time especially at night. The buffet breakfast was good, better than the average continental style bread and jam. Although supposed to open at 7am staff were often slack about setting up and did not open the doors on time. A pain if you are being picked up early for tours.
I did not get the single room with seating area and heating that I booked. I was given a room with three beds in and no heating. No explanation as to why. Although they do not add commission for use of a credit card they do convert the dollar room price to an exchange rate above the bank rate which favours them. When I queried this I was told 'It's political'. Not all staff are on the same page. One was flexible enough to allow me to cancel two nights without penalty so that I could go on a tour. This was then over ruled by another who insisted I pay for the full stay (this is within the T&C) and also pay there and then even though I was keeping the room and returning in two days. Very over bearing. Would I stay there again; probably not.
Hairdryer was broken.
Location is perfect.
Very noisy at night, for the cleanings of the restaurant downstairs. The rooms have no window.
Comfortable rooms, good hot shower, excellent buffet breakfast in the cafe next door included, excellent location, right next to the main square.
Staff could have friendlier, but not a big deal, was still one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in South America.
The hostal and cafe are in a great location and in very good condition.
The room faced the courtyard so got rather hot in the night - perhaps request a room with outward facing window or first floor courtyard bedroom
Unfriendly staff at reception, not willing to help.
The location is brilliant.
Lack of heating in the rooms
I liked everything about this hotel.
Nothing. I had a great stay.
Staff were friendly, facilities good. Location fantastic. Restaurant downstairs is amazing!!!! Great breakfast!
This is my favourite place to stay in La Paz.
Nothing at all
- clean and safe place - nice restaraunt if you dont want to venture out - well located, right next to the witches market - they let us check in early
- the restaraunt can be a bit noisy if you want to sleep during the day - the night staff tried over charging us for our cab to the airport
Great location, service and value for money.
The room was a little basic/sterile but probably fair value.
The location and the fact that although I did not fall in love with the place, I have no actual complaint.
central location, clean, good restaurant
This hotel was in a great location. The rooms were spotless and clean and both the shower and sink had hot water.
My room looked out on the cafeteria, therefore it was noisy early in the morning when guests were eating breakfast.
The rooms were very clean and the staff were helpful.
It was very noisy as my room looked onto the courtyard where the restaurant was.
friendly and helpful staff, fire place in the dining room, good breakfast, very historical building
wall to wall carpet in the room was dirty
Location They got taxi for you when needed
Staff - unhelpful - no effort made to help us when asked for help on multiple occasions from directions to assistance when we needed flights change due to dying family member Porter helped more than reception lady Asked direction to witches market - reply was "I don't know what you are talking about" - persisted and asked again "fine I'll tell you; it's just up the street and around the corner" - just couldn't be bothered helping Noisy Not happy at all - service was just awful - wouldn't stay again - to have no assistance in such a crisis was just terrible - hotel should be first port of call to help you overseas - no effort an completely lazy at this hotel
Very nice rooms with high ceilings, best location in La Paz (right around the corner of Plaza San Francisco), great breakfast in the cafe (also good for dinner!), staff was very helpful - we enjoyed our stay
rooms on the street side are a little bit noisy but have a great view to the cathedral, quieter rooms are available in the courtyard
Very well located Clean Good sized rooms Good breakfast Spacious design
Location is near the very center of La Paz and close to almost everything.
Location is central to tourist areas and transportation. Restaurant does great buffet breakfast and good menu for lunch and dinner. Excellent espresso coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. Ask for a quiet room at back rather than the front.
First night in front room noisy until restaurant closed but we liked the hostal and returned twice more.
Hostal Naira met our expectations, charming with a colonial feel. Great value for the money.
Smoking is allowed in the main dining room, we were in the non-smoking area, but we had to move closer to the door to avoid the cigarette smoke, not successful, the smoke was so bad we had to rush through our dinner. While we were there another guest was complaining and left before his dinner was served.
