I had my own room and bathroom, breakfast was included and there was a tv in my room too!
Our first 2 days were terrible (see below). When we returned from a tour on the Sunday the hotel manager was there and sorted out all our problrms and moved us to a new room. Everything was okay after that. So if you encounter lazy apathetic staff get in touch with the manager ASAP. Wifi was good and worked whenever we needed it.
We arrived late Friday. The staff working on the weekend were terrible. I sent an email to complain about the staff and several problems with our room. Breakfast is quite poor compared to other places we have stayed.
Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice price. Good atmosphere.
We booked two rooms. After leaving the hotel we discovered that the 2 people who slept in room 102 had been bitten by Bed Bugs (Chinese or Cimex Lectularius) on the lower legs over 50 times. The person who slept in room 103 had not been bitten at all. We tried to contact the hostal about this using the email address listed on the website, but the email address is not active / email could not be delivered.
We're two girls travelling together and we booked the twin beds. Excellent staff who tried their best in speaking English and helped us repeatedly. Amazing hot showers and everything was really clean. We felt really safe there. Would definitely recommend.
The only thing that worried us what that there was a smell of gas coming into our room, which was right beside a storage closet. We figured the water was heated with gas, but we're nervous that there might be a leak. We kept the window open and everything was ok.
Central location gave easy access to places. 24 hr desk service Staff very supportive when we were robbed in the street.
Being in the the city centre it is very noisy - La Paz never sleeps! Constant car noise - use ear plugs. Breakfast could be improved.
nice nad big room, very good hot shower, good location to the main street
Warm shower with enough pressure.
Extremly noisy street from very early in the morning until late in the night.
The staff was unfriendly!! No one works there on sunday so they lock the hotel! If you are outside and you want to come in, forget it. We were inside and had to wait over an hour, banging on doors and shouting until someone came to open the door for us. They charge you for using the very very slow internet!! The beds are uncomfortable, the hotel is located right in front of a nightclub so be ready to have loud music playing until 5 in the morning... The list goes on. This hotel was the low light of my South America Trip.
The hotel felt secure, breakfast was ok.. WiFi was ok.. The rooms were nice and clean, and spacious.. Nice bathroom, hot shower :)
Felt a little bit unnerving that there was signs all over the walls saying you cant leave anything valuable in the room, that it needs to go in the reception safe... The staff didn't speak English so communication was a bit of a struggle.. Tv is positioned so high in the room that it just looks like you watching a blank screen.. The hotel is nice enough to stay at for a stop gap.. But we wouldn't stay here for a whole week.
* Location (very central in an OK neighbourhood) * Very clean (cleaned daily) * You pay an honest price for what you get
* Breakfast could be a bit more exended (even though it's ok) * Sometimes it took quite some time before someone opened the front door, because the same people also do part of the cleaning.* Never found the official wifi; luckily I could get access a (slow) neighbour's wifi network * Wall sockets didn't work properly (bad contacts), so we had to build special and very feeble "constructions" so that our wall plugs could make contact with the sockets; sometimes I had to play around for minutes before my phone started charging...
Bathroom and beds
Good staff, clean room.
Location. For my second stay in this hostel I've got an early check-in.They have a lift.
Poor breakfast.Slow connection to wifi. The hot shower without pressure.
- Location. - Cleanliness: The rooms are cleaned daily. - Even though the hostel is located on a busy street, the noise on the third floor was more than bearable.
- Wall plugs didn't work properly; we had to invent a special mechanism to keep the our appliances charging (this happened with all wall plugs in our room!) Fix this, it's a pain in the *ss for travellers! - Breakfast is rather basic. - Sometimes nobody was answering the door for quite a while; not so nice, especially at night
Dirty bathroom, water in shower cabin didn't go away, no water pressure in sink. Wi-fi didn't work, we asked manager to fix the problem, he smiled and told he couldn't help. Entrance to hotel was narrow because manager opened only 1 half of a door. Obviously feedbacks on this hotel are overvalued.
They were quick to accommodate when medical needs forced us to stay longer. They were a lot cleaner then other hostels we stayed in.
Thin windows, shower got backed up after every use, and there was no water one day, not even to flush the toilet. After the first couple nights we were constantly being asked when we were leaving. We were overcharged because they didnt keep track of our payment properly, and only gave receipts when they saw fit (we should've made sure to ask for a receipt every night, don't make the same mistake). You don't pay at the end of your stay, but after each additional night you decide to stay, so don't get confused and ask for receipts because you will certainly be overcharged. Mattress was worn and became extremely uncomfortable after spending more then a night or two on it.
Very good location, close to lots of good restaurant (Italian restaurant in the same building, Mexican, vegetarian, Indian, two pubs,.. Just a one-minute walk away). Very nice and clean rooms, and the wi-fi actually works. Breakfast was the same we got in most of Bolivia - a roll, jam and butter, juice and a hot drink - some people complained about it in their review but it wasn't worse than in other hotels/hostels we stayed. Overall, I think it's a great place to stay in La Paz, we loved the location and our comfy room.
The staff doesn't actually seem to want guests - we walked over to the hostal after finding it on Booking.com and because we didn't like the first hotel we booked (Sagarnaga) but the receptionist told us they're full. We then booked it via Booking.com and there were tons of rooms available - there were barely any other guests but she turned other walk-ins away, too.
Traffic too loud because of poor soundproofing (e.g. single pane windows). Traffic woke me up in the early morning.
Clean hostel, hot water, secure
Then breakfast. You get one roll of bread! I have stayed in hostels for half the price and got to chose how much i want to eat!
Clean and friendly hotel. We felt safe.
The breakfast was average.
I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was simple, but you can get all what you need for such a low room rate. A great location, great hot shower and the bed was even better than the other more expensive hotel I had stayed in La Paz a week before. The staff were genuinely kind and responsible. Some people wrote bad reviews about their breakfast, but it was perfect simple breakfast to me that left me enough space for a street snack ("saltena" for example!) in La Paz, which I enjoyed a lot.
The only downside might be the early morning noise if your room is facing the street. (Rooms with city-view are facing the street.) It gets really noisy as early as 6 am. I would recommend to chose the room if you want to wake up late in the morning.
Location is very good, next to restaurants and convenient for touring. Staff is very nice and friendly.
Breakfast is small. If they added one egg it would be much better. Street can be noisy in the early evening, not a big problem at all.
we enjoyed our stay immensely. attentive staff. clean and good value for money.
The manager was very nice and extremely helpful. She spoke english and really went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. We are very thankful to her. The rooms were clean and always had hot water. Location was close to main streets in La Paz, easy to get to most things by foot.
Wi-fi was good. There was always hot water in the shower. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helped us book tours at good prices. Good and safe location in La Paz where everything looks a bit dodgy and dirty.
Kitchen staff not very friendly, dismal breakfast with only one bun per person along with jam, coffee, tea, and plain crackers.
