It has a nice beech and view. The staff is mostly friendly. I have been there several times. The last couple of times I have been there, it has gone down hill. There is also a terrible problem with sewage odor throught a portion of the facility. Who wants to spell that while vacationing. The breakfast cost is a flat rate of $18/day. I only want coffee and this highest amount I ever paid for a cup of coffee. The place is worn. The seats next to pool are stained and worn. The internet station they have is very worn. It's so worn that alot of the keys on the key board you can't read. I never memorized the the keyboard layout so I did the best I could with this. The facility needs updating. As far as recommending to others? I would warn them and say go if want but I can't recommend the place.

Quiet. Location was fine. Staff not too friendly, although they moved our room twice due to plumbing issues and upgraded us to an ocean view suite. Expensive for Americans, cheap for Europeans! Great beach area, dive shop on site. Food was overpriced, although it is an island! Little variety. Hard to get info from staff.... Mosquitos! Need bug spray for sure!

One of the few hotels on Bonaire (maybe the only one) that has a sand beach, very beautiful and relaxing! Also the reef in front of the beach was interesting for who likes snorkel and with a lot of fishes. At the restaurant "tipsy seagull" on the beach the food is delicious! The rooms are not really clean. The staff is friendly but they are very slowly in everything they do. Breakfast is too expensive for what they offer, and also the drinks at the beach bar are very expensive.

Hotel voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Grote kamers , schoon, comfortabele badkamer. Groot complex, klein strandje. Beetje vergane glorie. Nodig onderhoud aan buitenzijde. Alles kan weleens verfje gebruiken. Strand klein voor aantal gasten. Prijzen in de bar duur. €5,00 voor 3 slokjes wijn)

De gerenoveerde kamers zijn prachtig, het specialiteitenrestaurant Tipsy Seagull een aanrader! De heetwaterkraan is gloeiend heet, evenals de kraan zelf: oppassen!

Het leek een beetje "uitgestorven", "vergane glorie", housekeeping niet ok, geen last v gehad omdat wij veel buiten hotel leven maar kan me voorstellen dat het voor "echte hotelgasten" tegenvalt. Was niet echt gezellig. Er kwamen behoorlijk wat "tax" bovenop de prijs, beetje buiten verhouding.

Naar mijn mening was er werkelijk van alles verkeerd aan dit complex. Het toppunt van misleiding is het feit dat Van der Valk dit resort als en 5 sterren complex aanduid! Ik ben nooit in mijn zakelijk en privé leven zo misleid geweest in mijn keuze van hotels; terwijl mijn zakelijke ervaringen met Van der Valk in Nederland over het algemeen positief zijn. Jammer! En zeker zonde van het onmogelijk hoge bedrag voor de kamerhuur. De service; het onderhoud; het feit dat wij 300 dollar voor de kamer betaalden, terwijl andere gasten er voor de helft van deze prijs bleken te zitten. Kortom het management deugt van geen kanten!!

Rooms are large and the setup of the resort is spacious. Location is good (especially if you are interested in diving as the resort has a good dive shop) and still within walking distance of Kralendijk and its restaurants (20 min walking). The hotel has a private beach and a lively bar (but not noisy). Rooms could use a renovation as the decor is a bit outdated; furthermore the room was not spotlessly clean, which was what you might expect given upmarket pricing and positioning of the hotel.
