The staff were helpful & pleasant and although the hotel is old the rooms were clean & comfortable. The hotel is old and could do with an up grade of the air conditioning which struggled to keep up with the outside temperatures and high humidity, which meant that our room was often to warm. |

The superior rooms had plenty of space and were very comfortable. Not luxurious, but good enough. The staff was very attentive and very helpful, especially the bellhops. The breakfast was wonderful every morning with fresh papaya and mangos along with hot eggs, bacon and sausage with a variety of cold cuts, cheese, bread and cakes. Great value for the room and being a half block from the beach. Overall, a very good experience. No internet access in the rooms, lots of mosquitos in the lobby (but none in the room), no ac in the common areas besides the lobby (ie elevator, hallways, etc). |

The breakfast was very good and the hotel was OK as a base for going out and staying in the room for long hours. The aircondition in the room is quite poor and noisy. It takes quite a long time to cool the room. The lifts has a smell of an old room. |

The pool on 7th floor was great and refreshing and the rest was very good as well. The hotel staff was very heelpful. Upon explaining a few things thee staffs English was lacking. Better English skills is desirable, as more and more turists and oil business is coming into Brazil and Rio. |

In fact, the hotel is located in the Leme district, but you need just to cross one block and a street to be at the Copacabana or to reach the beach itself. Hotel restaurant is offering just basic breakfasts, but there are good restaurants nearby - for example Shirley, a Spanish place famous for giant shrimps done in creative ways. Free and really fast broadband internet (wireless in the lobby and cable in rooms) is a big plus. Big flat TV-sets with English-language movie channels. Very helpful staff (quickly changed room upon complaint, offered restaurant tips, arranged city tours, flights). The reception changes money at a better rate than banks (ie. 2,50 reals for euro instead of 2,37) and charges no transaction fee. Hotel is OK for business travellers or city tours, but it is not a holiday resort one could expect at the Copacabana beach: there is no swimming pool, or spa facilities. Unlucky guest ends up with a view on an inside well, the lucky one watches the street and other tall buildings. Air-conditioning is very loudy, in-room facilities worn-out and the overall comfort is just fair. I guess the hotel would not get four stars in Europe. |

The standard rooms were under renovation, but I took the room one notch above (for a tiny price difference) and it was quite comfortable - huge room, huge bed, good shower, big flat screen and even a little balcony where you could spot the sea in between the buildings in front of the hotel. |

The hotel is old; nevertheless, it's reasonably well maintained. Personal is helpful and rooms have a fair size. Breakfast is very good. They may offer you city tours at reception. If you check a riotour office pretty close to the hotel, you'll find the same tours quite cheaper in several other agencies. |

The friendly staff always ready to help but with the language barrier it was a bit difficult. Maybe someone to be able to converse in other languages, also to make sure the tour companies have people able to explain more about the places you see and give more info about the trips etc. |

How I was received, my room (I didn't know they still make rooms that big) which I comfortably shared with my 16-year-old son with a big balcony to boot and a view of the area; the breakfast spread and the hospitality and the convenience of the location of the hotel. The staff is exceptionally helpful. Internet access that is always fast and efficient. Very clean room whose wooden floors allow for the sea sand to be swept completely away easily. I loved everything about Acapulco Copacabana Hotel :-) Now I need to dig really deep in my mind....... Still thinking about this one.... |

I arrived too early (7:30 a.m.) and the room was not prepared. They gave me a suite in the 11th floor in order to not wait until the room is preapared. we stayed the 5 nights in this suite without extra charge! |
