location staff near restaurants and bars near metro Gloria
Located in heart of lively Lapa district and as I stayed with my 20 year old son loved the atmosphere. Easy access to trains and taxis into Cocacabana etc.
Very basic room not particularly clean. Shower was cold and air con was noisy.
Ok for a cheap stay, wifi was good, fridge in room
Air con loud, satin sheets too small for bed, room very small. Location a little dodgy at night.
My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed. Large ensuite walkin shower, a safe for my valuables, and free unlimited wi-fi. What made it for me was the proximity to the Lapa Steps. Something I have always wanted to see if ever I went to Rio.
The staff spoke very little English and relied upon Google translate! No cupboards, draw chests or anything save a small hanger rail screwed to the wall! None of these things however were an issue for me.
Good internet access. Good location in Lapa for pubs and clubs. Very helpful receptionist.
Deceptive pictures on the internet. No Lift Very dodgy Plumming Very Loud aircon unit.
very very dirty and dark rooms
dirty pillows, dirty shower with cold water,
Free wifi, nice staff
We went here for the World Cup games. Granted, I know the prices will increase, but this was not worth the $200+/night we spent back in October. It's in a inconvenient and not safe location, the beds were not comfortable and sheets were dirty, there were bugs, floor was not clean and our remote for the fan was not working. I would not recommend going here. Stay in Copacabana or Ipanema.
Everything else. Horrid location, was somewhere I won't be staying in a hurry. By a hurry I mean I will never stay their again!
Very helpful staff, some speak english but not all of them. The location is excellent, centre of Rio and the subway takes you wherever you need in a few minuets. If you want to enjoy the real Brazil, you do it here in Lapa, short of nightclubs instead there are samba drums and live bands, outside!
The hotel standards was not so good, but if you are staying over a weekend it is perfect for just a place to sleep. We stayed about 10 days/nights and for this long we would liked a higher standard. With that said, for the money you can't really expect too much either. One thing though, a common problem for hotels I know, but there actually had bedbugs in there sofas in the lobby, and when I told them, they didn't do anything about it... hurts me to writes because otherwise they were really helpful.
Helpful and courteous staff Very close to the city center In the Lapa neighborhood, great if looking for night life Free parking!
Old imperial era house poorly adapted as an hotel Lots of drugged people around (and lots of policemen too) TV remotes were useless (tried 3!) Showers took ages to heat up (and those were cold days there)
Very friendly, helpful staff who speak some English. My room was excellent and spacious, with some samba sounds in the background (it was weekend). Very good location, just outside the centre of Rio, near the "arches".
you can't beat location near Lapa Arches. probably best hotel in a row full of hotels that cater to the hourly crowd. owner very friendly. you can walk or pay under R10 for a taxi to santos dumont airport. you get what you pay for. room had working TV, cold air (make sure you ask for the remote), and warm water in the shower.
no elevator, slow wifi (free)
