Score from 335 reviews Very good
The staff were excellent hosts. They offered help without me asking. Always friendly and never had to be asked twice. Quiet location away fom noise of Praca Tiradentes, but a free van was always available to drop me off and pick me up. Benicio (?) was especially helpful. He found a good driver to take me to Congonhas and Sao Joao del Rei.
Breakfast was very good. Restaurant did not offer much variety for other meals, but it was easy to get downtown to a variety of food options.
-Very friendly staff -Great location (near bus station and uphill from central square; also good view of the city) -Nice balcony -Decent breakfast -Nice lounge area
-Showers were a bit old and did not drain quickly -Overpriced when I went; there are cheaper places with similar facilities across the bus station
Staff were very welcoming and set the tone for a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
-Very helpful staff, tried to find out more information on train schedule when we requested. Also when we were in a hurry, driver went an extra mile and helped us to carry our baggage to the bus station. Truly appreciate that. -Rooms were clean
Only thing is that the hotel is located abit further away from the tourist attractions/main square, so would need to rely on the hotel's van to drop/pick us. So if you are unsure what time to arrange the van to pick you from the main sqaure, you would need to call via your mobile phone, which would be slightly costly if you do not have a local mobile phone.
The hotel is very beautiful, the staff is very nice, the rooms are very comfortable.
Breakfast is not very tasty
They charge me extra for a cancelation and service fees on top of booking price
The staff, especially Benicio, was excellent, and very helpful. It was wonderful having a driver to take us into the center of town for dinner, and willing to come pick us up (we just took a taxi). Make sure you ask for a room with a view. There is at least one (our first room) where the window looks out onto a wall. Lovely afternoon tea/coffee, and a healthy breakfast in the morning.
A bit far to walk to the center of town, along a busy road, but the van will take you upon request.
A good breakfast. The gentleman who speaks English is very helpful Van transports to the main town's square and back on schedule
Old-fashioned furniture, bad smell from the bathroom, very slow in issuing bills (I waited over 20 minutes). They do not want to give bill for 10% fee and seeking the money in cash! Only one person speaks English. Too expensive for what they offer!
The triple room was comfortable. The tea break offered is nice initiative but quality of cookies and cakes may improve. The shuttle to /from the city center is absolutely great treat and very helpful.
The mattress was too soft for single bed.The hotel should install electric hangers in the bathroom to keep towels hanging and drying which would minimize the mold/moist inside.
This charming Pousada has the feel of a European alpine garni, with a cosy feel to it. The staff are very good and extremely helpful. The rooms are practical, functional and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Its very good value for money. The hotel is on a hill and hence the walk back up from OP is a nice walk, just needs a bit of extra time to walk up the steep hill. It's close to the main bus station. Would highly recommend this place.
The wifi in the rooms could be improved.
Complementary transfer to city center Nice afternoon tea Parking and concierge service
Location far from center Thin walls make easily hear noises Price rate doesn't include 10% service charge Plastic shower curtains Small beds
Very cite hotel and the staff were very helpful.
The location is not ideal as it is near the bus station but still far from the center where all the attractions are located.
It´s a very nice, personal Hotel with some character and the personal is very, very friendly
Very nice rooms, views over the hills, 1 km away from the centre of Ouro Preto but with a van on call to take you there and pick you up (useful as there's lots of walking to do in the city itself, and much of it is hilly and cobbled-stones), a lovely place to relax in the social areas, with tea and cakes served in the late afternoon.
The quality of the coffee noticeably declined as the breakfast time got later...it's worth getting down early for a really good cup!
