Next to Copacabana beach, Rio Othon Palace features a rooftop pool with excellent views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Ipanema beach and Cantagalo subway station are within walking distance.

Hotel Rio Lancaster is located in Rio de Janeiro, just in front of the world-famous Copacabana Beach, 3500 metres from Ipanema district and 3 km from Sugarloaf Mountain.

Score from 1091 reviews Good
With an unbeatable location on trendy Copacabana Beach, the 4-star Olinda Rio Hotel features a classic style since its opening. It offers a fine French restaurant and stunning ocean views.
Score from 1596 reviews Very good
At check in, the receptionist upgraded mme to a suite (without even asking) because he saw I had asked a room on high floors, which was not available; so i was on the 4th floor, but in a very nice suite. Also the gym has good Technogym equipment, even though it's quite small...
Great location, clean, good staff.
The bed was too hard for my taste
The feeling you have to come again to the same hotel, because everything was great!
Paid wi-fi in the room
View from the ocean view room and the rooftop, access to the beach, friendly staff, amazing hotel breakfast, quality of facilities, quiet rooftop terrace experience
Not a ton of unique personality
The ocean view
Bfast was good, room view good.
Arrived after midnight room was not made up. Had to wait another 5 minutes for another room. Moved lower down for a less of a view.
Very nice location;very friendly staff ;nice breakfast;and most important the comfortable rooms and panoramic view from c floor;this is a HOTEL;go for this is my favorite!!!
The location of the hotel is prime. We had a suite with a splendid view over the Copacabana. Better is not possible. Public transport is nearby in case you want to explore the city further. The rooms are quiet. The terrace is small but offers a spectacular view.
Breakfast is nice at first glance. But why is there no fresh bread? The juices are rather watery and not freshly made. The coffee is simply bad and does not match the standard of a 4 star hotel. The pool on the roof terrace is very small; no possibility to swim.
We took three rooms, one for my wife and me, one for our two sons, one for our daughter, all three of whom are college-age or above. The rooms were clean, comfortable, well-appointed without frills, with plenty of light, closet-space and room to relax. Ours, a deluxe suite, overlooked the beach and had a spectacular view of the entire crescent expanse from Leme to the Copacabana fort. We especially liked that view, glimpsed from our suite window and while drinking caipirinhas at dusk on the rooftop deck. We also liked the no-nonsense helpfulness of the staff on all matters requested, including reservations for dinner, taxi cabs, towels for the beach and general information.
Copacabana as a location is a mixed blessing. On weekends the beach is awash in beach-goers, and the street one off the beach -- Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, which we frequented for routine shopping -- has little charm. On balance, however, I am still glad we stayed there: the running along Avenida Atlantica is fantastic, cab rides to Ipanema, the Botanic Garden, and Centro are quick, and it's impossible not to drink in the quintessential Rio beach-going experience.
Lack of pillows Cigatette burns on bedding Sand and hair on floors Request for twin beds ignored - small double bed only Card entry in lift only works sometimes One sheet the only bed cover Deposit taken out on booking without warning
They are really professional staff. Good breakfast, good location, and wonderful view from the deluxe room.
Friendly and obliging staff - some of the nicest we've ever encountered on holiday. Fantastic service. Couldn't fault the place in any way. Can't recommend highly enough!
Location and friendliness of staff. Good breakfast selection.
Cost of in-room WiFi
Wifi should be free and faster, more umbrella and chairs needed for the terrace
The location of this hotel was fantastic, right on the Copacabana Beach. The rooms were great, beds very comfortable and the staff at the reception desk very attentive and helpful. Fantastic view from the roof terrace!!
The service at the pool bar was very slow even though it wasn't busy. Dirty glasses weren't collected regularly even though guests had left, which made it look untidy.
Great location and being able to look out over Copacabana beach from bed or look out the side window of the suite and see Christ Redeemer was a great way to start each day. The rooftop pool was nice as well.
While it was good quality, it was disappointing to have to pay $30 each day for wifi in your room. At the price of the rooms, I would have expected it to be complimentary.
Good enough hotel as in location, cleanliness and competence of staff.
However, the hotel fully lacked in atmosphere. Decoration was OK but that's about it. Then again, there aren't enough hotels in Rio so competition is not so hard.
fabulous view sleek, modern furnishings friendly staff
could not fault this hotel in any way, wonderful breakfast and fabulous room with best view ever, thank you Arena .
Staff was very friendly from when we checked in until we checked out especially Natalia our front desk agent and the young female bartender on the rooftop bar. I also like the hardwood floors in the room very differant touch.
I thought something's were a little pricey like the laundry, and also the fact that you can't bring guest up to room witch I understand, that they're worry about guest safety.
The hotel is located right on Copacabana beach. Easy access to the beaches, taxis and restaurants. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Although wifi was not free in the rooms, there is free wifi in the lobby and pool area. The views from the rooftop pool are amazing. Although the pool is too small for swimming, it's great for a dip when it's hot out. We had a great stay and left well rested and eager to return to Rio.
Most of the employees did not speak English although that did not affect us since we spoke Portuguese. They did not have many recommendations for restaurants but did for sightseeing. There is no shuttle from the airport to the hotel but taxis are easy enough to take.
hidden cost once we arrived different from websit
It was my second stay within 2 weeks. On the day of the departure for the check out at the reception we were in presence of a very agressive and unpolite employee. this lady should not work in hospitality business. I recommend to the management to check what happened.
Staff. Location, breakfast
If I am really critical I would like more storage space. I travel heavy and there are not enough drawers and hangers
