Very noisy; Hotel is rebulding.
the staff is very helpful, however, they are in an impossible situation.
The hotel is undergoing construction while it is renting out rooms! At full price!!! and they give no advance warning, Not even at check in, unless asked. From 8 AM to 6 PM there are jackhammers pounding and workmen coming up and down the elevator. You can forget about taking an afternoon nap, The rooms are located in a construction site. There is construction dust all over. Upon walking in, you and your luggage, are immediately dirty. It took us over an hour to check-in to a room with a working Wi Fi. We tried 3 rooms. Later on we found out, that in the room with the working WiFi, the AC was not working, nor was the phone. However, it was to late and we could not change rooms ... During the night or early morning, a water pipe burst, (this can happen in a construction site) and the elevator was shut down. We went down and up, to the 11th floor, twice, in a wet, non finished stairway. In order to checkout we carried some of our luggage down (from the 11th floor). Bottom line - It is a scam to promote the Hotel Atlantico Praia as a functioning hotel and charge market prices. It should be promoted as a hostel level or less. Suggestion - The rating should include a score lower than poor, for situations like the above.
Location. internals of room
I made a reservation for a double room 2 nights (no sea view) 672 R$. paid 1st night 262R$. At checkout however, I was charged second night - 422R$ use of hotel in daytime - 50R$ ( I left at 9:11 am and returned at about 18:20) guest extra 80R$ note this with 2 people in a double room! overall without minibar - 814R$ overcharging by 21 percent and breaking the terms and conditions of the reservation. I personally shall be taking this hotel to court. but would advise everyone else to vote with their feet. there are plenty of others as good or better. This kind of sharp practice is sadly all too common in Rio de Janeiro, but it is the first time this place has pulled this stunt on me. It will be the last.
place was a building site and very noisy also do you realise that bookers are under the impression it has a roof top swimming pool? perhaps it will after the work?
Location, location and location. And the view.
Hotels and hotel personnel are generally speaking very bad in Rio, no matter how many stars. In this case the staff would fit in a one-star hotel in São Gonçalo. The hotel does nothing to reduce the impact of the ongoing refurbishment of the hotel. As a civil engineer I would be very worried about the quality of the refurbishment of the rooms. Our new bathroom already had mould on the ceiling...!
Location, staff was helpful, breakfast was decent
Lots of dust from the remodeling, workers start making noise around 7 am
Perfect location right next to Copacabana beach. Rooms renovated to a very good standard, comfortable beds, very modern bathroom.
You have to pay for wi-fi, rooms with Copacabana exposure get noisy at night, pretty moderate breakfast with little sophistication.
The room I stayed was just finished renewal, it was on the SL floor. According to the staff, entire renewal construction will be finished within next two years.
Good location,excellent breakfast buffet
Hard to get extra towels and toilet paper, but the hotel was doing renovations and this could have affected room service.
None,,,,, drilling from 7am no let you sleep
Drilling and carrying remodeling jobs in concrete from 7 am. Staff didn't want to talk with construction guys to stop at least the drilling and silly noice.
the quality of service under 3* hotels with rude staff and managers
Location , breakfast , staff
The staff was very educated and helpful
The hotel is being reformed. So there is a lot of noise during the day and a lot of dust.
Location and staff are excellent. The staff always available to assist. Great hotel but currently undergoing renovations. We got a room on the first floor which just had its makeover. Amazing shower :)
Close to beach.
Very very old and not clean especially the bathroom. It was under renovation and they should close the hotel, renovate and then open it. With the same price you can find much better real hotel in Copocpana. I had booked there for 5 nights, but after the first night I cancel it and went to a new hotel.
Feet on the Sand! Just cross the avenue and you are at the beach
A lot of dust and noise due to the maintenance & renewal. Plus the inconvenience of no phone in the room and long time to wait for the Elevator.
Location location location! - Hotel is right opposite on the Copacabana beach - I had the beach view room - best view of the beach and Fifa Fan Fest.
- Very disappointing that not allowed to take friends up to your room! I guess this should have been made clear when booking via booking.com!!! - No free Wifi - Was pretty noisy all night long - should have sound proof windows/doors.
Hotel is under construction INSIDE , dust all over since they use cement to do repairs. Nobody speak english and staff no willing to help. When you ask for a manager 'Never there' Honestly this place shoul be condemn by city oficials.
View from the room Location
The rooms are sparse Hard beds Under construction Front desk guy was rude There were piles of beds in the corridor just outside the room Very inflexible Wifi did not work in the room nor in the lobby and we paid for it
The night manager was very unhelpful considering, it was our first time there, we arrived at 9pm, I was a single woman with a child girl and needed some local information.I felt very scared and so did my daughter...Room looked as a cheap motel for prostitution purposes only.Yuck!
The view from my 12th floor balcony.
Hotel was building site .i was in room 205 the only room on the floor in use,no window and derelict outside of room.a disgrace .
We booked into this hotel at the last minute for 1 night, and it was very expensive. Parts of the hotel were getting renovated and we were given a room in the center of a building site. Worked commenced at 7am and we walked through a hard hat area to get to elevators. It was a disgrace.
Nothing. Staff...bad Wifi charges 4 nights...$850 Usd Construction so loud need a hard hat. And asbestos everywhere
