Excellent,

“ Excellent location, close to all the action, but quiet at night (at least in our room that was not facing the square). Breakfast was high standard. Staff were friendly and helpful, basically no complaints, would stay there again. ”

The location of the hotel is excellent, we had a room with a view on the cathedral, which was especially amazing during the night. The room was big with a huge bed. The style of the furniture and the design are quite unique. Bathroom was clean and modern. Breakfast was of good choice. Hotel personal was very helpful and friendly and most of them speaks good English.

The hotel consists of two buildings that are interconnected. One has a major problem with the sewage system: smell of sewage throughout our stay, seems to be a long-term problem.

The hotel is nice, recently renovated. Rooms are big and clean and the breakfast lounge is beautiful. Staff speaks english Staff in the bar was sometimes not friendly. The position is good to visit the historic part of Salvador but the hotel is right on a square where a lot of drug addicts (also kids!) stay. Every hotel in the Pelourinho has this problem I guess but be prepared because it can be very confronting (my girlfriend didn't enjoy it at all!)

Loved this "boutique" hotel. Perfect location in the Praça da sé, just in the centre of the Pelourinho. Rooms were big and nicely decorated. Very clean. The hotel itself has a beautiful decoration, in line with the afro-brazilian style of Salvador, very colorful and original. Excellent breakfast! With home made cakes and brazilian specialities. The room were breakfast is served is also very nice, with balconies over looking to the Praça da sé. Helpful and attentive staff. I would definitely recommend it and stay in again if I go back to Salvador.

- The design of the the hotel: very charming, with a chic brazilian typical style - the breakfast: the best we had in Brazil until now! Lost of choices of fruits, good cakes, region specialities well done, and a cosy breakfast room. - the room: an air conditioning of the room that really works without noise, a great shower, a comfy bed. -the situation: in a secure zone of Salvador with policeman just in front the hotel, just a short walk from elevador lacerda - the night receptionist: very welcoming, helpful and pleasant! - The bar waitress: we went to the bar for caïpirinhas and she never smiled during the whole time we stayed there.... Thus, we wen't somewhere else for the second/third rounds...

The staff is great and some speak English. The breakfast is excellent and it's very typical from the region. Location is very close to the action, however our room was very quiet, so it was great. The building is surprisingly nice for such an old place (more than 400 years). Beware that as soon as you step outside the door, there will be street kids disturbing you every minute starting in the afternoon (however according to locals, they are not dangerous). My wife and me were with some local friends so it didn't bother us much, but if you are travelling alone, it is good to be aware (do not take any of the small street close to Pelourinho).

Bahiacafe Hotel was really nice and relaxing place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, speaking English and Portuguese. The little cafe/bar was nice. The location was a little touristy with many beggars on the streets but the architecture was beautiful. Be sure to ask the front desk for restaurant suggests as there is some really amazing food in the area. It was a little difficult to find the hotel with my taxi driver at first since there were no visible signs on the outside of the building. Other than that this hotel was a great place to stay.

In a month of traveling in Brazil, this was my favorite place to stay. I loved the location. Salvador is a huge city, but my preference is always the historic older sections of a city. Bahiacafehotel is the best! The building is old but the hotel is designed to feature the colonial building with comfortable, sufficiently modern rooms. The staff, speaking good English, (that can be a great help) was friendly and most helpful. I brought questions and problems to them and they responded generously to each. The breaKfast was excellent in a great room facing the Praça. Wifi worked well and there were computers available for guest use. I found nothing to complain about.

I loved the hotel, the decoration is very traditional and rustic, clean, the staffs are amezing. Andre who works at the reception is lovely and speak a perfect english. The room is big and confortable, the bed is king size, a/c works perfectly. Is located in the heart of Salvador, at the pelourinho! There is no elevator, so prepare your legs. After eating the amazing food in Bahia, is good a exercise :). I would come back there for sure. None

We were very satisfied with our stay here. The location meant we could walk around Pelhourinho at night even with small children and not worry about walking far to get home. Helpful personnel, spacious and beautifully decorated rooms and a very nice breakfast. We have stayed here twice, and the second time in a room in the back part of the building. This was very quiet. If you stay in front rooms, you will get the plaza atmosphere as part of it - a better view, but with more noise.
