A great hotel, in the middle of the historic district, great design, food and atmosphere. very helpful staff that made our stay in salvador a real pleasure! having no aircondition in a steamy city like Salvador is a big miss out in such a great hotel (the ceiling fan is certainly not enough). |

the hotel is well located in the historic center of Salvador. the staff is highly competent, forthcoming and very helpful in providing solutions to issues not necessarily related to the hotel operation (booking boat tickets, taxis, etc.). Excellent value for the money. |

Staff extremely friendly and helpful: On an early morning, I did not have Brazilian Reals, so Michel (not sure of spelling) lent me money! Also, we had to check out at 5am for a flight and again Michel (the owner) woke up to open the door for us! The old boutique style. Very clean. Location is the best in the city. Very close to public transportation as well as the Elevator. I also suggest you ask for room no. 8…Has partial view over the bay and Praca da Se Spacious bedroom Simple, yet great breakfast/ coffee Not sure if this is considered a pousada or a hotel...but if you are planning to stay in a pousada...this is definitely the best in town!!! And by the way, if you are going to Salvador, do not stay in one of the those luxurious The noise (music and dogs barking late at night) coming from Praca da Se (where the hotel is located) No ac. Although you might need no ac, you sometimes have to close the window because of the noise…therefore it becomes warm in the room. No tv in room. No Safe box in room |

Opportunity to see city center day-and-night. Friendly welcome. Ample (though simple) breakfasts. Free wireless internet access. Noise from (very) early-morning street-cleaning and barking from feral dogs in plaza. |

Central location, comfortable bed. Other than that, the rest is somewhat basic. The staff (apart from the male owner) speak no english whatsoever which made it difficult to attend to your basic need. Breakfast (or coffee) is okay but definitely not the best like other described. I think the stay would be alot more pleasant if the staff's attitude is more caring or approachable. Bed |

Inside the hotel the facility is attractively decorated, very elegant. The breakfast was delicious with the best coffee of our three week trip around Brazil. It was handy that an internet cafe was in the lobby of the hotel. Our room was small. The staff was not very conversant in English but we were not at all conversant in Portuguese.. |

Just a great place with a great owner Michel. Free wireless internet and access to the Internet Café for free before 10am or after 10pm. Highly recommended at attractive prices. Great breakfast Nothing wrong. It's the place to book to spend a few days in the Pelourinho. |

The hotel in itself is a lovely little property. Salvador the city is the problem. Therefore please don't misconstrue my review as negative with respect to the hotel, my major concern is Salvador. Families with small children in particular should avoid Salvador in my opinion.. The location of the hotel is on one of the main squares in Salvador. The square is quite run down with packs of dogs, beggers and prostitutes. At night it gets worse and to access the hotel you have to go down a side street which leads to the favela. |

This is a pousada - a small old-city house remodeled as a hotel. The design is great. The room was clean and nice looking, though missing some basic facilities such as a closet. The propriator, Michel, is very nice and helpful. The location is great, with the pros and cons of the historical center. Somewhat highly priced. In summary, recommended. |

The breakfast was fantastic with freshly squeesed fruit juice. We had to ask for eggs though but they were happy to oblidge. The bed and pillows very comfortable and a lovely bathroom with a wonderful shower head. No air-conditioning therefore very hot and noisey as we needed to leave the window open at night and no TV or safe. Also no hanging space for clothes. The reason I would not reccomend the hotel is no air-conditioning otherwise I would reccomend it. |

Very good value for money, but don't expect luxury. Excellent location if you are visiting the old Salvador. Breakfast is simple but the juices are to die for! The variety and quality are out of this world! Owner very welcoming and helpful. However if you like the big chain hotels don't go there - but if you like the small charming hotels, then please do! |

Closeness to the carnival. We were robbed and attacked in broad daylight, 30 yards from the hotel. It is not in a safe area. |

Rundum Alles.
