Best Western Plus Sol Ipanema Hotel  

Way over priced. Didn't get the room we thought we would. They had the nerve to charge extra for my wife to stay in the room. They tried to screw us on the currency rate to the tune of 7%. We will tell everyone we can never to stay there. Also, we will use every means possible to tell the world the same thing.

Great location. Pool at the roof is very nice. Friendly staff. We could check in before 12h. Albeit the facade of the Hotel looks not so nice, room was clean and comfortable.

View to the backyard is really bad.

The view from the room is great and the location of the hotel is in the best part of ipanema

The hotel needs serious renovation. The prices are very expensive for what they offer. The breakfast was served in a terrrible meeting room set up and the renovations taking place were covered with a bed sheet stuck on the wall. Not too pleasant to look at. The noise from the street is also bothersome even though we were on the 13th floor.

This was great place to "wind down" after a longish cruise which had health issues for many passengers. We had a marvellous view (floor 15) and couldn't take our eyes off the beach, the water, and the frigate birds.

Our only complaint was the lack of a comfortable armchair (e.g. for TV viewing).

The staff here really made the difference. Thanks for being so helpful in my hour of desperate Mac charger need. I was at Sheraton Rio first but the Sol Ipanema rooms were so much nice and more modern.

Staff wasnt kind, 1 elevator didn't work the whole stay, breakfast was poor compared to others brazilians hotels, they didn't clean the room in the morning period so if you leave in the morning end arrive by lunch you will find your room dirty. The room wasnt ready for check in by 4 pm.

There was only 1 lift working and it was used by the floor cleaning people. The other one was broken for all the stay (4 days). Breakfast is absolutely not sufficient also for the price of the rooms that is paid. Sport room is poor (2 machines) and with 3 people is full. Cleaning people starting to make noise at 7 am while the room was made in the afternoon. Deluxe double room is a normal room with just view on the sea.

The location is fantastic, in front of Ipanema beach and near good restaurants.

The window is to small and we could have had better use of the awesome view

Location directly opposite beach and view from high floor beach facing room. Room large and comfortable. Breakfast pretty good - the fruit especially delicious. All staff good and some staff outstanding with assistance. Comfortable bed.

The pool is tiny - maybe 3m square and just 1m deep! Of course the beach is right opposite and fine for swimming if the surf isn't too big.

Apenas a localização e isto atrai hóspedes, mas depois o serviço deixa a desejar. Caso passe um email relatando uma possível razão especial para a hospedagem, desista de alguém ler. Vão liberando os quartos conform ordem de chegada, sem qualquer cuidado de escolher um andar que se enquadre com as solictações do email. Então, para que existe este seviço de email...Outra coisa: um elevador quebrou e ficou parado durante todo o fim de semana sem que a assistencia técnica resolvesse (que assitencia técnica é esta!!!). Descer escadas e subir, foi tarefa comum durante a estadia, ou espera no andar e no lobby, digamos, mais que demorada.O Hotel está em obras para o salão do café da manhã, e não li qualquer menção disto no site, quando fizemos a reserva. Eles disseram que estava, mas....só bastante poeira na hora do café. De qq forma, pela localização sempre existirão hóspedes, mas não me pegam mais.

Liguei para o hotel e perguntei se havia ferro de passar roupa no quarto e disseram que sim. Detalhe: tem de ser solictado tábua e ferro e este é do tipo antiquíssimo, nem mesmo a vapor.Para um Best Western Plus, falta muito!
