Best Western Plus Sol Ipanema Hotel    

Superb location and wonderful room looking right out on to Ipanema beach. Great breakfast spread but most of all very good service, especially from Mr. Bollentini, the GM of the hotel who personally intervened to sort out to our complete satisfaction an unfortunate situation that had emerged and might have soured our stay. Cannot endorse the hotel strongly enough.

The Fiducia restaurant is needlessly expensive without the food rising to that level (as expensive as Zuka almost but going nowhere near that quality of food).

The fact that I tríed to cancel 4 out of my six day reservation with booking.com and after website confirmation, the hotel denies my any refund and shows me an email reply to the web site denying any kind of refund. Having known this from the begining I would have organize the trip in a different manner

I paid 36 reais for a salad that had 10 leaves, 4 small pieces of tomatoes and few other things. I ordered it thinking that I would have a "lunch" salad. No way. Ridiculous for 36 reais. Before I had sandwiches for that price that were a lunch, even Lasagna for 40 reais. I already had complained to Eduardo at the main desk but got no feedback.

My room was beautiful, the views from the rooftop bar were fabulous and the breakfast buffet was very good!

The hotel is very expensive during bank holidays so book well in advance if you can the rooms at the back of the hotel are ok but nothing special in caparison with ocean view ones The walls are paper thin so you can hear your heighburs very well

There is no sitting room or lounge in this hotel. Pocket- sized swimming pool.

We stayed at the sol Ipanema for 3 nights at the beginning of March. We chose a deluxe sea view room and it didn't disappoint. We were on the 11th floor and had fabulous views in both directions. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning and had 2 evening meals in the restaurant, the second time because the rain was too heavy to venture out! Both meals were of a good quality. Other guests commented on the small rooftop pool but quite frankly with such a wonderful beach across the road it didn't matter. The free beach umbrella and chair service was excellent. I gave it as good value for money as we really enjoyed our stay but it is like all other Rio hotels in that you pay alot for what you get. Other parts of Brazil are half this price.

This hotel has the best location, in front of the famous Posto 9. We loved the sea view from our bedroom on 11th floor. Design is not necessarily the best but all is very clean and in good condition. As we are not early birds, we appreciated the black out curtains.

The swimming pool is more like a hot tub but the hotel is in front of one of the most beautiful beaches... Air conditioning is a bit noisy.

Perfect location. Very friendly staff...as we were checking out the house cleaner called down to the front desk to let us know we had left something in the room.

Slow check-in. One person working and he spent about 15 minutes giving recommendation to couple as we waited...and waited....

I arrived at 9am and I got my room at 2pm , i was travelling all the night witjout sleeping and i was waiting from 9 to 2pm, all hotels in the world you got your room at 12

We had a great stay at this hotel. We loved our ocean view room which meant we could watch all the beach activity from our window and could wake up in the morning and see the sea. The breakfasts were great, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is close to the beach, as well as great shops and restaurants. It suited us perfectly for our stay in Rio.

Fantastic location with amazing view of beach/ocean. Clean facilities with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be returning.
