The location at Santa Theresa.

Pretending to be what it isn't, i.e. a top end hotel.

The charm of the location and this old house made into a B&B type of Hotel (5 rooms with bathrooms which offers other meals besides breakfast) is just beautiful. Staff very friendly and beyond helpful. Built on a hillside it has lush vegetation and is quiet.

The front door is disappointing and when rung inside one is confronted by a long while corridor with a door at the end. No indication of hotel, or reception! The door turns out to be an ancient elevator - no indication where to go!! BUT once inside - WOW!!!!

it was not the hotel concept that I was expecting as it is a house for a family feeling, yet the staff was so friendly that I stayed and had a nice time. the rooms are nice, clean yet very simple. loved the breakfast. I think this is a great place for meeting other guests.

i did not prefer the location and the hotel entrance does not do service to the nice place inside.

I loved everything about this place. To begin with the email communication with staff was prompt and friendly. When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome throughout our stay. Luciana and Silvia offered great suggestions on places to eat and where to visit. The location may not be for everyone but we loved it. Set up on a hillside with views over Rio and only a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Santa Teresa. Head 5 mins downhill and you're in Lapa with the nightlife and Samba bars. The house itself is gorgeous. The communal areas are stylish and spotless. We didn't make use of the gardens and pool as we were exploring the city but anyone looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings should consider Casa Amarelo.

Quaint, beautiful old house with gorgeous rooms in a great location! Got an upgrade because we were on our honeymoon. Loved every minute of it! Pool is amaxing, view is incredible. Absolutely reccomended!

Wifi connection only really works in one small area. Also, if you can't sleep in places with thin walls- make sure to book a sound proof hotel in Rio!

Breakfast, the bathroom in my room, the house, and the staff at Casa Amarelo are very warm and happy to help.

Walking back from Lapa late a night maybe a but scary for some.

Casa Amarela combines rustic chic with old world Rio. The staff (esp Silvia and Rogerio) were extremely helpful and courteous, the room with its tall ceiling and queen bed was cosy, clean and quiet and enabled sweet dreams. The breakfast is basic but nice and worth getting up for. The location close to Lapa's bars, Pao de Azucar and Corcavado is perfect. Excellent place - loved it.

There was no hot water in our room, however - considering the sweltering heat (37 c) in Rio those days it was no big problem for me, but was a big issue for my girlfriend.

Ambiente agradável e simpático e pessoal muito bem treinado

Le charme d'une maison familiale, décoré avec beaucoup de goût et l'accueil. Nous avions l'impression d'être reçu chez des amis. Nous avions la liberté de nous deplacé dans toute la maison. Nous avons egalement diner et c'était très bon (surtout la feijoada fait maison).

Le quartier a son charme mais il faut faire attention.

Quando implantarem uma equipe/cozinha profissional que atenda refeições e cafés da manhã semelhantes a hotéis comuns ficará ainda melhor, ja que nao foi incluso o café da manhã e o preço pago é com certeza poderia cobrir o custo disso...

hotel bem localizado , café da manhã incrivel , serviço muito amável.

o hotel nao tem nenhum isolamento acustico , faz muito barullho no quarto . A manutençao do banheiro deixa a desejar. Acho que pelo preço da diário tudo deve estar impecável.

Magnifique maison entre santa teresa et lapa.la chambre au dernier etage a une vue extraordianire. On a ete recu comme chez des amis, il y a un salon tres agreable avec de la samba en fond et plein de bouquins. Les hotes nous ont conseille des visites, guides, restos... Vraiment une adresse de charme!

Comme partout au bresil, la salle de bain n est pas top mais la vue a largement compense!

les petits déjeuners mèmes sandwichs pendant une semaine ,jus de fruits fades,fruits frais fades hormis l'ananas,confiture industrielle,mauvais pain ,c'est dommage car les repas pris à l'hotel sont très bons

La situation dans le quartier plein de charme et très central de Santa Teresa, le coté un peu suranné de cette maison probablement centenaire, la gentillesse et la compétence du personnel.

Contrepartie de la situation dans ce quartier, un peu de mal à faire venir les taxis, pourtant indispensables à la visite de Rio

L'atmosphère très convivial qui règne à la Casa Amarelo fait qu'on s'y sent bien, le personnel y est pour beaucoup, accueillant, à l'écoute et de bons conseils, la décoration est très sympa!

Bruyant du fait de la circulation sur route pavée

L'accueil de la gérante et le dévouement du personnel. Le charme de Casa Amarelo. Le jardin et la petite piscine extérieure. La proximité de la ville nocturne et bouillonnante des bars à musique. Un tunnel donne sur un ascenseur qui accède à la maison, c'est unique à Rio.

Les chambres mitoyennes à la réception et la cuisine sont très bruyantes des 06h00 du matin. De plus la sonnerie du téléphone est audible tout le temps, c'est assez pénible. Il y aurait lieu de distribuer les pièces différemment et isoler du bruit la partie nuit. A noter pas d'eau de 17.00 à 09.00 du matin...

Adorei o design casa, a piscina e o quarto bastante espaçoso.

Os preços dos alimentos são caros para jovens estudantes, e não tem frigobar no quarto.

No geral é muito bom pra quem procura um hotel com um design diferente...

A piscina poderia ser um pouco melhor... E falta um estacionamento, alguns taxistas não gostam de levar até o bairro de Santa Teresa, e um estacionamento acaba fazendo falta.

Belle maison ancienne, typique des pentes de Santa Teresa. La directrice de l'hôtel, très sympa, est française. Chambre bien décorée et très bon petit-déjeuner.

A moins de se lever parmi les premiers, la chambre n°2 se situant au même niveau que la réception et la salle de petit déjeuner est à éviter car trop bruyante, surtout le matin.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the casa was really beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, everything fresh-made.

Apart from one person, the hotel manager, who was in the hotel from 9:00- 17:00, no one else could speak english or spanish, so the communication was very difficult in the afternoons. The hotel is a very beautiful renovated house, but there was a poor soundproofing problem in the house. Last (minor) problem was that for the first two days of our stay the wi-fi was not working due to some router problems.
