Hotel Cristal Palace  

I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would come back. Nice staff, excellent rooms.

The location was good.

Minor problems: The staff were unorganized, unprofessional, maybe incompetent. The shampoo was almost pure water. The closet door didn't stay closed. The "free to use" computers in the lobby are uselessly slow. Major problem: Our room was supposed to have a double bed. Instead, it had two twin beds pushed together. Whenever my partner and I tried to get close, the beds would slide apart and one of us would fall in between. Then, the headboard would fall over and hit us in the head. It was ridiculous. I really wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good location just between Ipanema and Copacabana, low price, breakfast was reasonnable, staff was friendly.

The hotel is old, the elevators hall in our stage was smelling bad, forget the jacuzzi in the top floor because is rusty for many years already.

The location midway between Ipenama and Copacabana beaches could not be better. Frequent buses enable travel to places of interest in Rio. Ipanema Metro station is within 1.0 to 1.5km within walking distance. I found staff at Hotel Cristal Palace helpful to guiding me to which transport mode was more appropriate.

Nice breakfast buffet on roof terrace. Gutes Fruhstucksbuffet auf dem Dach.

small and dirty rooms. room was very neglected. our first room smelled like pee. i had to involve booking.com to get it changed. ore else they would not have changed the room. manager speaks no english and uses this for reason to not solve your problem. manager refers us to owner, but owner is not available on weekends. manager is afraid to get fired if he calls owner in the weekend. our 2nd room was slightly better but still neglected, curtains broken, lights not working.

I liked it because it was super friendly and very helpful. Your staff could have not been better. The Internet was good and accessible easily in the rooms most of the time and your location was great for both beaches. Breakfast was ample and adequate, hot and on time every morning. It was a perfect mix between economy, style and accessibility. Thank you for your kind help during my stay. It was very welcome.

Location and price

Our room smelled quite strongly of stale cigarettes and dump. The noise from outside the hotel was so loud in our room and we were on the top floor. The hotel breakfast was poor. The jacuzzi needed a change of water and a good scrub. The staff were rude!

Located between Copacabana and Arpoador/Ipanema beaches. Great breakfast included! Wifi on every floor.

The hotel is very well located for Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, the market, the shops and a range of restaurants. Having the taxi rank just outside is also very helpful. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a hgighlight for me. Fairly sensible pricing and helpful staff.

O café da manhã é bom. Os travesseiros são bons. é perto de uma boa praia do Rio de Janeiro. Somente isto.

O hotel é muito ruim. Os quartos são escuros e sem ventilação mínima, a pintura das paredes estão caindo e há infiltrações. No banheiro há infiltrações e limo (fungos) por toda parte. Eles reutilizam os frascos de shampoo e condicionador. Os funcionários da recepção são pouco cordiais e à noite o hotel parece abandonado. A decoração é horrível e olha que eu gosto de decorações clássicas. Há muito barulho no quarto, tanto o que vem da rua quanto dos quartos vizinhos, de onde se escuta qualquer conversa em voz baixa. O Rio de janeiro precisava rever os preços dos hotéis, pois este não vale 70 reais a diária em São Paulo ou em qualquer outra cidade do Brasil, e lá paguei 250 com promoção!!!
