It is located in a nice place that provides good access to other touristic spots.

Old furniture, room with absolute basics, bathroom was not clean, cloth closet smelled bad, blankets old and smelly, air conditioning was not working, receptionist didn't issue invoice after payment, I had to request it, too expensive for what I got (1200 Reais for 2 nights)

An extremely aweful experience!The price I paid for was not worth my money. The hotel is so run down the staff were not very friendly. The lifts did not work. The pictures on the internet were taken 100 years ago.

The location right at the Copacabana beach, many services available in the hotel or around, free and reliable Internet connectivity, a lot of space in the room.

1/ the room was very small and not functonal. 2. there was a terrible smell in the hotel (as a matter of fact - it stincked) 3. the price I paid (200 us $ pr night)is usually for a3-4 stars hotels even in new-york. the debret does not worth even 1 star hotel.

The location is good - right on the beach front at Copacabana - and a short walk to Ipanema beach. The breakfast is very good.

The wifi in my room was patchy and the decor is a little tired and shabby.

Street Noise

The location is terrific. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. And to have breakfast on the 11th floor overlooking Copacabana Beach was a bonus.

Rooms spartan but adequate.

Excellent location on beach with great views from room. Good value for the money. Nice free breakfast with good variety and numerous fresh items, good service and nice view.

It could use some remodeling and repairs.

The location was ideal, right on Copacabana beach front. Good variety at breakfast. Reasonable price. Reasonably quiet.

Not particularly clean or new. Staff not very approachable or friendly/welcoming. Did not seem to forthcoming with information about the area or with organising trips in the area or transfers between the airport. No evening dining/drinking facilities within the hotel (when you're tired and can't be bothered to search for a place on arrival).

Location is perfect.

Staff, though knows English is not likely to be polite, hotel common areas and rooms are not properly maintained and cleaned

The only real good thing about Hotel Debret is its localization. But even that has the problem of a awful smeling coming from the sewer pump in front of the hotel. As well the awful smeling coming from the bathroom. The view of the breakfast room at the 12 floor is wonderful.

The hotel is very, very old and very bad kepted: the room was awful, everything very crapy, old mattress, old bed, old forniture, the bathroom is very crapy in need of renovation, the floor is awfuly crap. And the smeling coming from the bathroom was something terrible. The lillte street is very noisy as it has many bars open till very late and after cames the garbage truck which stays long there in the midle of the night making terrible noise. The two elevators are very small and old and one of them was barely working which created a problem since there was too many guests for the poor two machines.

Position. Room with sea view (deluxe)

the location is perfect and the breakfast is good enough , also it has a good view to the sea that you can enjoy it during the breakfast time and the most valuable thing about this hotel is the free WiFi ! also this hotel offers the variety tours with the good price .

the room that I stayed there was very very small without any window or balcony ... also the elevator is a big problem it is very old and useless ,...

Location near to copacabana beach

Damage and smell Carpet in many floors.

The staff were very friendly, we had to check out by 12 noon but they had a secure room to keep our cases and did not mind us popping in and out to use the facilitys

We paid for the deluxe room and to be honest the only thing deluxe was the sea view. The room was very basic and it had no lcd tv as in the photo but it was only a place to put your head down and the location made up for this

Hotel Debret is old and the rooms are damp and smell musty.

Location - right next to Copacabana Beach and a great tourist street market. Good breakfast on top floor with a great view of the beach.

Room was very basic and superior double was stuff with 3 very basic single beds. It was clean and safe, and we spent most of our time visiting places in Rio so basic room didn't matter.

Location is great

It looks like the last renovation of rooms has been done about 50 - 60 year ago
