Hotel Atlântico Business is in downtown Rio de Janeiro and is 200 yards from Teatro Municipal Theatre. It features an outdoor swimming pool and a rooftop deck that provides splendid views.
Score from 2301 reviews Good
In a charming building from the 1940s, this hotel offers air conditioned accommodations only 1000 ft from Flamengo Subway. Famous attractions such as Copacabana Beach are within 2.5 miles.

Located in the residential district of Flamengo this 4-star hotel lies only a few steps from the beach.
Score from 267 reviews Very good
The location is near Avenida Mem de Sà, the street of the nightlife with pubs, street food and many other. Very big room and bathroom. The hotel is clean.
Pay attention on the night in this area.
Best place to stay in Lapa, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, free wifi, safe
Had to change rooms because window wouldn't lock
Location Location Location and staff
Clean and Tidy bed was very comfortable, overpriced for the location however after spending 28 days in Brazil across 7 cities all hotels are living on a faded memory of 1980 quality but 2014 5 star prices.
Wifi was working fir 2hrs then it stopped and never worked again. Wifi is extremely important for travelers without it makes for a poor opinion
Excellent breakfast buffet choices. Location a bit off the beaten track but 10 minute walk to metro which very efficiently took us directly to the beaches. Staff went the extra mile.
No outfacing window in our particular room. Agree that it is better if you speak Portuguese or at a minimum Spanish to communicate better with staff.
Rooms were clean.
Staff didn't speak good english, wifi didn't work and room was not tidied during the day.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bathroom is old and the view of the room was to behind the building.
The hotel was good value for money. The room was decorated in a very basic fashion and mine was particularly small, but everything was very clean and wifi worked perfectly. Breakfast was truly excellent - lots of fresh fruit and bread.
Unlike other reviewers, my experience was that the staff only spoke Portuguese. The street can be really noisy so I wouldn't recommend the hotel to light sleepers.
I liked the staff, breakfast, rooms, bathroom and location. The staff was pretty kind and they speaking english and spanish as well.
The recepcionist was really cool and she helped with instructions how to go by bus to everywhere.
The staff were absolutely wonderful in every way. They arranged safe storage of documents in the hotel safe even though it was not a usual service. The house keeping staff are fastidiously clean. The porter in particular was a gem. He walked me to a laundry some distance away and arranged laundry as I do not speak Portuguese well. The front desk staff were as good as I have found anywhere including in 5 star hotels. Breakfast was adequate.
There was nothing to dislike in relation to a solid 3 star hotel.
It's not the best option, but it fits in a travel budget.
