Nearness to the convention centre
Blizina kongresnog centra
Non-English spoken staff
Helpful staff. Well situated for the big convention centre - two minutes away. Decent value for money.
Area was said to be not that safe after dark. A precious review had warned me to take ear plugs - you really need them! Sleep's OK if you can block out the very loud traffic noise.
Superb bathroom with spa Big room
Had to sit by the door to connect wifi Roomservice food was cold Huge room with only 1 chair..no other furniture but the smallish bed. Check in was so slow almost fell asleep at the desk.
We booked this hotel for a 3 night stay and checked out after the first night. The staff was rude, the location was not safe and the rooms NASTY!!!!!! The rooms were incredibly dirty and our window would not even completely close. We asked for maintenance to come close the window because we had all sorts of bugs flying in and to try an minimize the noise from the street. After close to 2hrs if waiting somebody came to "fix" it... All he did was slide the curtains to cover the fact that an entire window panel was missing!!!!! The worst hotel...I wish I would have never booked. I would never recommend this nasty hotel.
I would like to bring up an incident that took place due to the negligence from Gallant Hotel management. This is related to the incident that took place on the 15th of July 2014 at about 7am at room number 307 (where 4 of us were staying for 6 nights). The incident was that your toilet glass door burst and shattered into pieces that let to injuries to one of the occupant on two of his fingers and both hands generally. He had a deep cut to his fingers and was bleeding badly. However, when we made a call to the hotel staff, no one came up to help and we had to go down to call, even then there was no sense of urgency. At the reception there were two ladies and we had to wait almost 10minutes for one of them to locate the first aid box. We had to take the selected items from the first aid box and rushed to the aid of my friend who was still bleeding. At that point, there were still no help from the hotel staff at the room. After bandaging the wound my injured friend went down for breakfast and showed his injuries to the people at the reception and only the two male staff with the cleaning lady came up to the room. The male staff explained that the glass shattering was due the change of the temperature between the air-conditioned room and the heat during the hot shower. They way, the diagnosis made in matter of seconds certainly tells us that this may not be the first incident. We are very upset with this unfortunate incident that injured our friend (occupant) and could not discuss further with the hotel management at that time as we were heading to the airport to catch our flight to Buenos Aires.
The Breakfast included in the price was terrific.
The Hotel is very dated, the rooms were okay but nothing to speak about, except for the fact that the rooms had "Condoms" for sale in the room and of course contraceptives for women to! The neighborhood was very dirty, decapitated, there was a street food vendor right outside the hotel, selling food and beer, watching TV with his buddies. NOT A place for families at all.
We felt safe, staff was very friendly, helpful,Marica was warm and kind. Our room very clean and comfortable.
Language barrier.I Would have like to gotten better information from the staff about the country and the many attractions they have in rio
Near Maracana stadium.
wifi doesnt work at all told them but never fixed it
Close to Maracanã...walking distance.
I do not reccomed the rooms in the 1st and 2nd floor at all...
Condoms in room
Old hotel, I heard my neighbors all night, wasn't fun...
Location and the food was ideal.
Proximity to Tram stop. Hotel is a good base if your not spending much time in it. Bruno was very Helpul and spoke English. Managed do nearly all of what we planned in Rio. Good location for Maracana
Highway running adjacent to hotel. Lack of sleep very Noisy. wifi intermittent but did have computers as a back up
The staff can communicate with you in English; they tried the utmost to satisfy me!
It' s an adult hotel, but they're discrete .
Close to Metro and airport, Good buffet dinner and Breakfast, please staff and clean rooms
Too close to the motorway traffic, the noise from passing traffic was overwhelming in the morning, ear plugs required.
The staff was nice and the breakfast was excellent.
Service was horrible! I emailed them to let them know I needed to check in earlier than twelve. We arrived around 9and told we had to wait til 12. Our room was not ready til almost 1! After a long plane trip we were tired! No double beds either. When I booked I asked for 2 double beds. Terrible service - booked 4 months ahead!
Good rooms Nice staff Clean
The brakfast was ok not more Its far from copacabana but the metro is near by Its a 3 star hotel
next to airport
Wifi does not work well, poor signal in the rooms.
Near to facilities
Network very poor signal.
The hotel was very clean and very comfortable to stay in. The hotel staff that did understand a little bit of English were friendly and did their best to assist and guide you. Nice location next to a Metro station.
On the date of our check-in, not one staff member understood a word of English - so it was bit of a struggle and a bit un-welcoming. The Wi-Fi is not stable at all, especially in the rooms - we had two days of no internet connection at all. Maybe if they install boosters the problem can be resolved. The Reception area had good wi-fi connection, but sitting space for guests is limited and the air conditioner is very cold and uncomfortable to sit more than 10 minutes.
Short distance to public transport and reasonable bars / restaurants nearby. The hotel and room was clean with a good value for money.
No minibar but it's a minor issue.
I liked the location and the sense of security the location provided. I also liked the food prepared for the buffet. I liked the staff's attitude to try and help even after I had checked out!
I did not like the signal strength of the Wi-Fi or the fact that there was no staff that spoke English or Spanish, especially considering Brazil is surrounded by Spanish-speaking countries.
