I was afraid to stay here after reading the poor reviews but I had a great experience there, the staff was very helpful, the location was excellent, I loved that they had beach chairs, umbrellas and towels located on the beach for no additional charge, the value for the money was very good. I highly recommend the hotel and would look forward to staying there again.

The bell boy recommended using a hotel car to return to the airport and it was not the best experience, the driver was not professional, talking on the phone while driving and then she took me to the wrong terminal. It was a real hassle walking with all my luggage to the correct terminal.

Fantastic breakfast, good facilities beach service with chairs and umbrella, location couldn't be better. The rooftop pool was very nice

Sometimes brusque service at the front desk. The price was high for the quality and service. Internet service very weak and inconsistent.

Quality of breakfast in comparison with Porto Bay Hotel Copabacana where I had just stayed for previous 3 nights with my tour group. Only orange juice avail from dispenser ,limited fresh fruits ,very poor scrambled egg bacon & no croissants.Only one umbrella at pool area and shabby cane furniture in pool coffee shop needs replacing Chairs in Opium restaurant OK for coffee outside in street but too uncomfortable for any form dining.

The location of this hotel is grea as it is close to may nice restaurants and a great shopping area. The breakfast was nice and all the food was fresh. Also, the staff in the breakfast area were nice and friendly.

My room wa damp and smelly and had the room safe ripped off the wall. When I called the reception to ask for a room change, theynever called me back. The staff at checkin were completely confused about our reservation and didn't speak english which made things more confusing espcially for a 4* international hotel. Also, none of my requests made at the time of booking were considered or even commented upon.

The service was atrocious. Too few amenities for the money.

Location is great. Terrace on the 18th floor is perfect.

Noise isolation is poor, especially felt this at night. Rooms are not that good as other public facilities. The hotel is definitely over-priced.

Rooms and bathrooms need refreshing. Light proofing of rooms needs improving.

Location is excellent

While the hotel advertises wifi, it was unavailable for 95% of my 7 day visit. Also, it is not well maintained and the management is, at best, inept if not incompetent. This is no longer a high quality hotel.

Great position and although a large busy hotel it had a relaxed ambience.

From your records you will see that some hassle with them taking payment twice but in fairness it was resolved in full and they made up for some of the hassle by settling one bar bill and providing free taxi to airport.

Good value for money. Nice rooms, good breakfast outside. Everything's right next door: beach, shops, bars and restaurants.

I liked very much the perfect location. We also had a lovely view of the beach. The bed was large and comfortable. We arrived early and were given a room immediately. Breakfast was on a indoors and outdoors corner spot overlooking the goings-on in Ipanema.

This hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth and needs a facelift. One deserves a better experience for the very high cost (broken fixtures, old chairs, pool food service incredibly slow (1 hr!!, Same for other guests as well), etc.). Also, the Christmas Eve buffet's price was intentionally hidden (they told us as much) and was a terrible value...220 Brazil Real for an only decent buffet?? Other guests were also upset about this. This is my second visit to this hotel, and I will probably not be back unless they make some improvements.

- At best, the staff were indifferent - with one or two exceptions who were knowledgeable and helpful, most of the staff looked like they didnlt want to be there. They couldn't be bothered to provide telephone numbers for Radio Taxi companies and just wanted us to use the hotel cars. They also mis-informed us about local events. - The walls must have been made of paper-board as we could hear all noises from the rooms next door and above/below. As such, we were awoken very early each morning of our stay - Having stayed in Rio on at least five previous occasions, I found this particular hotel the worst value for what I paid and received in return

The location is amazing... Directly less than a block to Ipanema Beach and close to great shopping and superb restaurants!

I wish our room was a little nicer...but for the price it was fine.

30 seconds from the beach. Staff very competent. The restaurant is flat-out excellent.

Bathrooms need renovation and the rooms are a bit noisy, ut these are really minor problems considering the upside.
