Stayed for two nights just after the wc had finished. Couldn't have been happier with the place. The first thing they did was upgrading our room at no cost as a bigger room was available. Got a tour of the whole hostel and I can vouche for all the rooms, all decorated differently and all equally beautiful. The breakfast was great but the best thing about it was probably the staff, so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - not only about Rio but our next destinations as well (Sao Paulo and the Iguacu falls). Can't reccomend enough!

It definetaly wasn't cheap but it was wc season so everthing was expensive in Rio!

The beautiful pousada is a work in progress. It is in a perfect part of historic Pelorhino. It is a short walk, taxi, or bus ride to most of the peninsula. The breakfast in the morning is good and the staff is cordial.

The bathroom in our place had mold in the showers and the drain was clogged. Water would not drain and the mold was a problem. When you stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast, you want a place to lay down your head comfortably and sleep and a clean bath room. Those are minimum requirements. I do not know if other rooms were better but we told the owner on several occaisons about our concern. Fortunately one of the members of our party was staying in a hotel in Barra and we were able to find other accommodations satisfactory to our desires. Its a pity because once he finishes renovations and can keep the showers clean and the drain running, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to any traveler.

+ very very very helpful and kind staff and owner (He even brought us to a restaurant himself the first evening! He made a call for us to an other hotel. He gave us great tips). + modern rooms + good shower + great breakfast, everything fresh made! (even cake) + owner speaks english + there is a safe + you can eat breakfast outside if the weather is nice + nearby you have some lovely places for a drink, it's a poplar place for people and a safe place

    - a lot of noise at night (maybe ask for a room at the back?) - taxis don't always want to take you to your hotel, because it's high (a lot of the taxis don't get up that high) - you have to be patience at the breakfast, they bring it to you, not all at once, but in serval times, sometimes we couldn't eat all of it because we had nog time left BUT it's very good breakfast and fresh made!

This was our 1st time staying at a B&B and I must say that this is a very unique place. There is an art gallery attached to the B&B and during our stay there was an opening held for a new exhibit. It was great to be a part of the excitement surrounding the opening of the new exhibit. This is a great place to stay if you appreciate art and enjoy being immersed in the bohemian culture of the neighborhood. In addition, the breakfast was fantastic and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

The B&B is a bit difficult to get to as it is in the municipality of Santa Teresa, which sits on a hill with various winding roads.

We were initially hesitant about staying in Santa Teresa but it ended up being our favorite neighborhood in Rio. There were plenty of local shops and restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel and a bus stop right across the street to take you to the Metro. The breakfast's were amazing and enough food that we never needed lunch. The rooms were charmingly decorated with each honoring a different artist.

The bed was a single with a stand alone pull out mattress that could be placed anywhere in the room. It was fine for our needs but may not be suitable for all couples.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and though the owners do not speak much English, they do have English-speaking staff. We were visiting Rio for the World Cup games, and had a very nice stay.

A bit expensive, but this may have been due to the World Cup games being held in Rio.

Delicious breakfast, good location if u want to visit Santa Teresa, very nicely decorated room.

Taxes or service charge (it wasnt explained to us properly as the owners don't speak English/Spanish well) were added to the price of the room only when checking out.I would prefer to be informed about that at the time of the booking but overall very good quality pousada

The location is perfect within Santa Teresa, the house is so stylish and very well decorated (including an art gallery as a bonus!), each room has its own personnality, and is very comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had during our whole trip in brazil, we have been very well welcomed and the whole team was extremely helpful and friendly to us. This is a perfect cocoon to discover santa teresa.

We spent there four days and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very cozy with amazing Art Deco, located in the heart of Santa Teresa - really nice and safe location full of good restaurants and bars. The rooms were big enough and clean. Breakfast was amazing with personal touch. It was a lovely experience.

Air condition could be stronger. Everything was great beside.

The guesthouse is very charming, well-decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff was amazingly sweet and friendly

The place doesn't have very good sound insulation so you can hear everything

The staff is excellent and very attentive. The breakfast provided is cooked for you in the back as you eat, and is one of the best you'll find anywhere. Santa Teresa is an older, hip part of Rio with good bars and restaurants, and great views of the city.
