Ambience Room Meals
Location, large rooms
outdated muggy smell floors were not really cleaned bathroom needs refurbishing
Location is excellent. There is a nice well-kept public room (sitting room) which gives you the impression that it is a high-standard hotel. However, unless you are lucky enough to get one of the handful of grand rooms, it is not so. See below.
1. The fact that the first room they showed me to practically had no window. 2. The second room (the one I stayed in) had a window but was very noisy, next to a generator. 3. The overhead fan was so cheap and rickety that you felt it was dangerous to use. 4. The bedlinen was of dubious cleanliness and the nearby surfaces were dusty. 5. I was cold in the night so took out a blanket from the dusty cupboard - it stank (of mildew or not being clean, I'm not sure) so I had to resort to wearing my coat!
Nice location, close to the Imperial Museum and the old city. Beautiful breakfast room and main building.
The rooms in the annex were a bit worn out and in need of refurbishing.
it is a nice hotel very well located. Excellent breakfast!
The hotel is an historical mansion next door to the imperial palace and in the centre of Petropolis. The dining room had a veranda overlooking the front which was a splendid place to lounge and absorb the history. Everything was as described in website.Staff spoke good English and were helpful.
Parking is limited and the rooms are in an extension at the rear.
Near town. Beside the Castle. Friendly staff. Good breakfast
Reception, lobby, main building and especially the dining balcony very very nice.
Swimming pool closed due to building works. Wasn't informed. Small car park. Back building where our room was very dated.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Overall very nice and clean, great location.
Location and rooms very good. Staff very helpful
I loved it. The hotel is old-fashioned, but my room was completely renovated. Besides it is extremely well located. I have stayed in other hotels around, but to this one I will return.
The hotel is great. Very nice old house, big confortable and cozy rooms. We slept very well. Thé location is great, close to all attractions. Would be happy to go back.
nothing, everything was good.
Very convenient location, wonderful old building generally friendly and helpful staff. The room facilities were generally at standard for a three star.
Woken up by internally generated noise at 5:00 in the morning. Allocated a romm with glass walls and windows with an odd design with a 5mm gap all round. traffic noise was too high in this room so we asked for a quieter room. We weere allocated one without fuss. After an hour a very loud buzzing noise started - audible 30 feet away in the corridor. A staff member came up and whilst they were there the noise stopped. They explained it was a hot water pump. We asked for and were given reassurance that it wouldn't go on all night or begin at some unearthly hour in the morning. Given that reassurance, it was particularly annoying to be awoken at 5:20 in the morning. It seems we were above the kitchen. We were treated to loud electric motors (blending / bread slicing?) and shouting between the staff for half an hour, then the water pump for another half hour. We pointed out the issue gently at the desk in the morning, but the staff didn't seem interested. Maybe we were too polite? Overall, a nice hotel in a nice location, but our stay was spoiled by it being impossible to sleep with the early morning noise. Do stay here, but be very careful about which room/s you're allocated - or take earplugs!
It's near the atractions, you can go on foot. It is excelent.
