Very good restaurant. Small family owned hotel with excellent service. Gorgeous beach and well kept surroundings and pool.
They offer in paper 1/2 botlle of wine, but in realitty they never have the wine choosed. And they offered to keep a botlle of wine not interily consumed, and 3 nigths later the botlle had disapereed.
location, views, level of attention
Breakfast was mediocre. Wine list was almost non existing
Great location & friendly staff
Great place all around, very friendly staff and great swimming pool and spa facilities.
Only problem was that weather was rainy during our stay, though that's not the hotel's fault! But do your best to be there when weather is good to make the most out of the place.
Location on Geriba Beach.
I didnt like that i got a king bed, but it was really two twins pushed together. Staff was friendly, but noone really spoke English than one person, who had to be summoned everytime we had a question or request. Beach staff was very good with getting umbrellas, and Geriba Beach is gorgeous and active. Right near the FishBone (beach Bar) Speaking of FishBone. We heard it was a cool spot to go to. We arrived and we asked them to make reservations for Fishbone for dinner at 8:15. They obliged and said they would do it. We walked out and went next door to the place to find it complelty pitch black and dark. It had been closed for hours. You see Fishbone is a day place during the week. Closing at 5:30. How did La Borie make reservations for us at 8:15 if it was closed then? Why wouldn't they tell us it was closed? they basically made fake reservations to a place 100 feet away from their hotel that was closed and didnt tell us. Def rubbed us the wrong way. We were there on our honeymoon and it was more like a family place, since we were the only couple there without children. Geriba Beach is a nice place to visit and so is the FishBone during its regular hours, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. Their are other places worth staying in Buzios. highly recommend. Vila D'Este where we stayed for 8 nights and it was amazing.
- Amazing location on the beach, you can sit by the pool with full view of ocean. Rooms are bright and clean. The restaurant food is incredible, especially the lamb. I have been to Búzios about 5 times and this by far is the best hotel I have stayed at. Thank you!!
Professional and attentive staff--front desk, restaurant, pool area, bar, beach set ups. Excellent location with direct access to the beach. Restaurant is outstanding for quality (though a bit pricy). Best caipirinhas ever!
Food and drink service to the beach area was limited.
Gostei de tudo, serviço ótimo, máximo conforto
Beautiful beach, small but good spa center with excellent massage therapist, lovely dining room with an exceptional breakfast offered, as well as a complete, not inexpensive, but beautiful lunch and dinner menu,( both tried and enjoyed!) Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool and outdoor bar area are lovely and well maitained. But the beach , right there? Is really the treat! The taxi ride to town is 15 minutes, or a few block walk to the local bus/van into town. More restaurants, shopping some night life and a scenic wharf pier await there.
I didn't like that we had to check out of our room at 12:00 noon, when we couldn't leave for the bus to take us back to Rio until 3:30. It was a rainy day, it wasn't high tourist season, no one was checking into our room, and we ended up hanging out between the dining room and the TV room ( Very noisy family also in there then, not fun...) and the front lobby, comfortable enough, but would have preferred a later checkout and leisurely lunch. As it was, we ordered our food to go from the kitchen and they were not really prepared, or that appreciative of us doing so. The waiter kept insisting "it will be out in time!" He, thinking we'd have time to eat it there. But I knew that the moment it would come out, we needed to be in the taxi to make it to the bus. So at my insistence, again and again, to please wrap it for us "to go" they finally did. BUT not untill after he brought it to the table! At which point I knew we had to leave! Hellooo? The taxi was waiting! After some bumbling in the kitchen.." "to go forks"??? what is that???" ... They got it to us, with real forks, bless them, (souvenirs), and we did make the bus, with several seconds to spare, but it was unnecessarily anxiety producing at the end of what was a lovely stay.
The hotel is peaceful and beautiful nesteled right next to a gorgeous beach. The staff is friendly especially Chris he was always so very helpful and accomodating. If you have any questions or need suggestions he is definetly the one to ask!
outstanding location and friendly staff giving a relaxed luxury experience. Thanks Hugh and Annie
The location was fantastic, the beach beautiful, the staff very friendly and accommodating, the food for breakfast very good, and most of all the attention to detail was impeccable-in every regard!
With so many good things to say I can't really complain that the gym equipment was inadequate and the price was expensive, Can I? Can I suggest vouchers for a gym in town? All together I thought it was a fantastic time. Thank you!
the position right on the beach, fantastic views and the food was really good. Staff could not have been more helpful. I thought long and hard before booking because of the price but I did visit in super high season, and I luckily I had a great time.
it was expensive but keep in mind that this is where the wealthy cariocas hang out at weekends and they can afford it. There are no all inclusive packages to be had here at all, so go with the flow and the beautiful people!
The location on Geriba beach was incredible. Having the pool, bar and seating overlooking the beach was fantastic. The ocean/beach was very easily accessible
For the price of the room, I expected a little bit nicer room. But the property almost made up for it. While the staff was very nice, most didn't speak english.
we were pleased with our room and its fantastic view. The beach right outside as magic and fun.
The rooms need to be refurbished and its not acceptable for a Hotel with those prices, to have a bar which closes at 10 pm.
Great service and ambiance. Excellent restaurant. Location amazing overlooking the beach. Peaceful, relaxing, simple, discrete. Just great!
