Mar Brasil Hotel    

- large appartments with hammocks on balcony (we got an upgrade) - hotel is being renovated - close to nice beaches

- noise from refurbishment work - outside high season, close environment seems not that safe

The staff, the room, clean. It is located near the airport, however very quiet. Sea view. I know this hotel many years and always come back.

Rooms are big...we booked a room but they gave us an appartement with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Position is ok if you want to be close to the airport.

Food is terrible, it was the worst breakfast we had in Brasil. Swimmingpools are smaller than they appear in the pictures. Also they are a bit dirty and they get completely full with families and kids enjoying their weekend on the beach. The position is ok to get to the airport but far from the centre of Salvador and from any sandy beach (the beach in front of the hotel is not very nice if you compare it with other brazilian beaches). Hotel building should be renovated.

The bed, a confortable king size.

- The room: lack of air conditioning in the living room, the design isn't as modern/pretty as in the pictures (and that's true for the swimming pool too)... If you choose this hotel, demand to stay in the new building, apparently much better! - The kitchen of the executive suite was useless. Almost nothing to cook, just 2 pans, no frypan, mixer, colander, graper, board, cutting knives, etc... - the breakfast: despite a long buffet, poor choice and bad quality - the beach in front of the hotel: impossible to swim, many many rocks - the situation: despite knowing that it wasn't near the center, it's really really far, much more than expected, and there is only 1 bus, every hour or 2, according to the traffic, to get you there or back there. And there are poor choices of restaurants next to hotel. - the lack of flexibility of the waiters: we were never able to change the side dishes of our courses, even when i asked to changed boiled potatoes for french fries or steamed vegetables for salad!! Making us buy a portion of french french fries or a green salad in extra!

Good for short stay, too far from Salvadore center (1hr by bus), taxi to the airport r$ 45.

We enjoyed our our stay and will tell our friends.

The children's playground is dangerous. Rusty nails sitting proud, cracks in timber which could trap fingers/toes etc. Maintain it or remove it. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I had an excellent stay at Mar Brasil Hotel. Wane recommend this hotel for a pleasent and relaxed stay. Very close to beautiful beaches and surrounded with very kind and helpfull people. Muito obrigado Mar Basil! I will come back!

distance from airport and the waiter for the hotel restaurant he was nice but we had tp wait too long for the menu even though only two tables to serve...he brought our orange juice and we had to ask and wait for the sugar...he brought our bread basquet and we had to ask and wait for butter. Plus....it would be nicer if our shampoo and condition would have been set inside the shower box....

The fact that they have Vinicius de Moraes' house inside the hotel is amazing! Great breakfast, nice food, 2 swimming pools, clean and confortable. Just in front of Itapua's beach, taxis and buses at the door.

Not sure if that is the bahiano style but the front desk people were very slow , sometimes i asked them to do something for me, they said they would but never did.

This hotel is a gem. Stayed two nights but could have stayed a whole week. Located away from the busy streets of lower-city Salvador, it offers two pools and the beautiful Itapua beach and lighthouse. Rooms have a kitchenet and are bright, clean and 'roomy'.

The hotel is very nice, located very near to the beach. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Internet is free and can be accessed in rooms, lobby and even at the swimming pool. The pool is nice, clean, warm and well taken care of. There is a bus stop nearby the hotel and a taxi stop just in front. Ride by bus to Pelourinho takes approx 1 hour and is cheap, only 2.5 to 3 reais. The hotel has a restaurant with food of quite good quality. Of course it is a hotel restaurant. Nearby (5 min by foot) there is an elegant restaurant with very high quality food. Personnel is very helpful, some speak english, you are well taken care of.

The only drawback I can see is the presenc of a road with quite some traffic just in front of the hotel. But nights tend to be quiet. However traffic starts relative early in the morning.

Ha uma praça muito charmosa em frente ao hotel com estatua de Vinicios de Morais.Avisei que tenho dificuldade em subir escadas e o quarto que me ofereceram era acima das expectativas!

Apartamento da ala nova muito confortavel e amplo. Atendimento muito bom, funcionarios atenciosos.

Conservacao das demais areas comuns do hotel deixa a desejar.

O Hotel é muito aconchegante, tudo muito limpo, novo e bem organizado. A equipe é atenciosa. Vale lembrar que a Casa de Vinicius de Moraes dentro do Hotel é um diferencial e tanto, o que nos permite unir cultura a uma boa estadia. Mais que recomendado.

Da localização em frente ao mar, silencioso, pessoal atencioso e bem-humorado, proximidade a bons restaurantes.

Nada em especial.

Falta de atividades para crianças/jovens. Como sugestão instalar sauna...

Adoramos o hotel.Os funcionários são atenciosos, o café da manhã é muito bom também e a acomodação é muito confortável.

Ficamos na praia de Itapuã, teria tudo para ser linda, mas é muito mal cuidada e impossível de ser frequentada fora de temporada, horrível. A cidade de Salvador a mesma coisa, suja, mal conservada, mal sinalizada, transporte precário.
