The dining room is very small.

Hotel placed in a quite street while carnaval was going. Safe,Comfortable.(good air-condition, beds are good) Close to underground metro,city center,kiosks,gymnasium place and beaches. Good taxi service to anywhere you want. Good exchange rates foreign money (dolar to real) Breakfast wonderful.7:30 To 10:30 very rich selection ( brazillian fruits to cheeses) Reception people knows english and helps friendly

Carnaval time daily room prices are very high. Internet speed good (skype,facetime good) but daily usage little expensive when using 2 or more people.

Very good value for money. Clean and access to an excellent gym just in front of the hotel.

The staff here is very professional and helpful. The rooms don't look very nice, but they are spacious, functional and comfortable. Breakfast is decent. Location is great, close the both flamengo beach and an subway station. We stayed here during new year, and on new years eve the hotel provided a small complementary bottle of champagne (some kind of sparkling wine anyway). Was a sweet gesture.

The price. I expect prices to be high during new year, but I checked out the prices later in the year too. For these kind of prices I expect not just something that is nice and functional, but downright luxurious. Though I must point out that even if the building does not have that element of luxury, the staff do add one.

Staff was very nice and speaks good english. Breakfast. Location near to metro station and flamengo beach. Also the gym was excellent.

Room was quite small, and there was no real window on the room. This didn't really bothered me, but if you want to see something than a wall from your window, then the single room isn't your choice.

This hotel is situated in a very good place.

The rooms are big, clean and comfortable.

The staff is not very useful. The hotel inside is old. The wifi was worth nothing, plus you have to pay an extra BRL 5.- which is not much, but the signal was weak and kept comming on and off.

Proximity to city centre, and easy access to subway station. Simple clean no frills, ideal to those who want practicity. Complementary gym across the street. A very good gym.

Window, it looks to something like chimney -- it would be better even without window - only noise and not nice air come through it. Mainly noise I didn't like. I could not change money with reasonable exchange rate (for 1 US$ only 1.5 R$, in exchange office more than 2).

The elevator, it is old and small.

Good location, 2 metro stations are near, a lot of restaurants, shops and supermarkets are around, flamengo beach is very close. Good breakfast (fresh juices, fruits).

Too small room for 3 people.

Very helpful staff and a bit closer to an International Airport.

We had a room on the same floor with the restaurant, so it was noisy in the early mornings.

Forniture and decoration are not in a good taste!

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, specially Mr Edson, who helped us a lot when we found out that the battery of our car was empty. The location is perfect, very close to the subway Catete and to the Flamengo beach. Very important: parking place free of charge!!! And save surroundings.I Will for sure stay there again in my next trip to Rio.

The breakfast room/restaurant is pretty small for the size of the hotel. We didn't have any problem in finding a place to seat, but I can imagine that it could happen when the hotel is fully booked. But further no complain. Breakfast was good and we had some small dinner there twice and food was good. Tip: close to the hotel you can find the Catete Grill. You get 15% discount as a guest of Mengo Palace Hotel (ask at reception) and the food quality is awesome.

Location close to metro. Room is very basic but clean.

Studio rooms are practicalle without a window. They have a "window" on one wall, but you will see only 2 meters to opposite concrete wall and some air conditioners. In general Rio hotels are highly overpriced and not meaning good quality, even on low season. I recommend to avoid paying too much for this reason. Places outside big cities along the coast are much more beautiful and also cheaper to live.

Room was really big and spacious, very clean and nice. The hotel is located in an area that is ok, not fancy therefore you can find food and juices close by at reasonable prices.

Access to the beach was not that easy, I had to cross a very wide highway if I wanted to go to the beach.
