Very nice and helpful receptionist
A bit overpriced for a dorm bed
warm hosts, breakfast, conveniently central location
location was difficult to find at night, didn't seem like a safe place to be walking alone at that hour. taxi driver had a hard time finding it. lots of dogs barking in the area.
The non-recognizable street that taxis often go around, but do not know how to go to the address. It is difficult to go to the town. The price on booking.com is cheaper presentially.
- nice people - wifi - belo horizonte is awesome - rooms in the main building
- looks close to the bus terminal but in fact it isnt (taxi take 10-15 minutes as it needs to take one-way streets and "cross" a freeway junction (you also cant walk across the freeway) - breakfast is not free (for the same quality)
Not far from the centre and walkable to Savassi.
Very expensive but was during the world cup. Breakfast could have been better. Difficult to find for Taxi drivers.
Staff were unbelievably courteous and helpful. I have a bad back. Although the beds were very firm, Walson and Ronnie actually found a door and cut it to fit the bunk for my back! They also kept the door for me for each of the several times I returned to the Minas. I couldn't have asked for more; they were the best!
The breakfast, the staff and the Huge TV room!
When we arrived to the hostel, it was full although we have booked in advance. So they change us of hostal, and the change was much better, the new hostal had pool tv room and it was located better.
Nice location. Nice stuff. Ok breakfast.
More English speakers in the stuff and wifi in the rooms missing.
It was ok for 1 night.
Bunk beds a unstable and mattress thin, facilities could be cleaner.
The hostel in general is just okay, the staff is kind of helpful.
The most important reason I am giving a bad review to the hostel is because is so EXPENSIVE for its poor and UNSAFE location (even with extra security from the World Cup). People that want to become richer in a few days and take advantage of the travelers don't deserve a good review! I paid 129brl which at the time was 42.73eur!! Not even in Switzerland or Munich I paid that! It is really outrageous!! Some people complaint that there was no wifi in the rooms, which is true, there is only on the lobby, but sometimes that is good because that way you can really socialize! Depends what you like... oh yeah! and the bathrooms don't have ventilation. Even if they were charging 20eur it will still be expensive more important for its location, that in the tourist information I was told it was really unsafe during the night, unless you want to pay taxis you could be okay...
Very helpful staff. Clean facilities, good breakfast.
Bit of a run down area. Didn't seem very safe.
I perfectly adequate hostel - good community of travellers, reasonably close to the centre, good breakfast.
Pretty sure there were bed bugs; certainly we woke up covered in bites.
Good staff Nice food
No wi-fi in the rooms
The location was good enough. We just needed a place to sleep.
High price for what it offered. A very small room. It didn't had soap when we arrived and it seemed the bed covers hadn't been washed properly.
Great staff who were very helpful and friendly. Nice rooftop balcony.
The hostel's location is decent, within walking distance to the Rodoviária if you are arriving by bus, but further away from the CBD. The hostel itself is adequate, but unspectacular. The owner and employees are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, just get to it early before all the good stuff gets eaten.
When full, the hostel can get overcrowded with few shared spaces. The cleanliness of the bathrooms isn't the best.
Staff is really helpful Clean rooms, secure
Wi-fi ONLY in the living room, no access AT ALL in any of the rooms Bathrooms didn't have any air flow.. so it made it really difficult when it's a lot of people staying The place is really far away from almost everything
The hostel Is in close proimity to the bus station and centro yet ina quiet neighborhood.
