Olinda Rio Hotel    

Dostali jsme zdarma pokoj vyšší kategorie s balkónem a výhledem na moře v horním patře. Snídaně byla dobrá , postele pohodlné, ochotný personál a poloha hotelu skvělá.

Koupelna by potřebovala rekonstrukci, ale bylo tam čisto.

Position on copacabana. Clean and comfortable. room was a reasonable size for three single beds.

Location, location, location. Feijoada on Saturday was great.

Not enough front desk staff making check-in and check-out take longer than desirable. There were some plumbing issues.

It is close to the Copacabana beach, internet is good.

The window is a thin layer of glass, can't even be opened. It could get very noisy at night. I had booked a room with seaview, and I had requested for a upper floor when I placed the booking. When I arrived they gave me the 3rd floor, I requsted again and they gave me the 4th! The air-conditoner blows on the bed to your head directly @.@ oh well. Things in brazil is over-priced, can't ask for too much.

I enjoyed my stay at the Olinda Rio mainly because of the beachfront location. The staff were very friendly and helpful in terms of booking our tours. The breakfasts were by far the best due to the variety and fresh fruit daily. Our room was a little small and not spacious enough. We also did not have a sea facing room but that was not a big deal due to our close proximity to the beach. One of two issues I had was with the salmon I ordered off the A La Carte menu which gave me food poisoning that evening. I however was reimbursed and did not have to pay for the meal. In terms of the tour agencies used by the hotel, the favela tour was very informative and the instructor on the hanggliding was very professional and friendly and he spoke English quite well. The only tour that I was not particularly impressed with was the city tour. The tour guide was not knowledgable at all and her English was terrible so for the most part we could not understand her. I would suggest that a different tour agency is used for the city tour. A good seafood restaurant that was recommended by a gentleman at the front desk was definitely by far the best we had in Rio. Beyond that, we enjoyed our stay in Rio.

Staff very friendly perfect location far all attractions

Staff did not offer advice/did not seem to know what services were available for tourists ie. there was a free bus service to shopping centre but we had to ask about it as we needed to get a pass from the hotel

For a small hotel, beautiful old world lobby. Staff is very friendly. The beach is just across the street and shopping nearby is good for relatively inexpensive things.

Ordered room service. Coffee delivered in small pot when asked several times for a larger pot (3 different days - same result). When ordering a "traditional club sandwich" (that's what the menu said) we received a mayonnaise (almost 90% of the) sandwich with one tomato and just a small amount of chopped bacon. So we really had mayonnaise sandwichs. The fries were cold. That stopped us from spending any more money in their restaurant.

There was a sense of uneasiness about personal safety due in part to the recent report of a robbery on copocabana beach and the terrible attack on the couple in the van.

The location was great. Staff was great and the hotel was comfortable but old.

The tours we took were horrible. Too expensive for what was provided. Don't book tours through hotels. Hire a car with driver that speaks English and do a tour if the city and famous sites. Buy tickets to Platforma at the show. Great performance.

We were there about 8plus in the morning, still too early to check in but the hotel staff was kind enough to allow early check in. Love this hotel as it is facing the Copacabana beach. We had the hotel breakfast not a big spread but is sufficient. Behind the beach there is a few supermarkets, food is not a problem.

Hotel is a little old, the window is too old make it difficult to open and close it.

Loaded prices on tours. Toilet was not clearing very well.

-Breakfast was superb - view from the Ocean view exhilirating and relaxing. -Staff very courteous and helpful -Close to restaurants and other general shopping.

Except for the reception staff most did not speak much English. The standard room window views are depressing. You see a wall! We had to change the room!
