I didnit like the fact that booking.com gave us the wrong position on the map of the hotel. It was infact 65 kilometres away from the location on the map, down a dirt track road that can only be used by car in the summer months.
Great location for in your face pantanal.
I ran out of petrol and as the nearest petrol station was almost 50km away the manager ensured the I was provide with sufficient petrol to get to Pecone. The journey to the hotel over the uncovered road was a little daunting at night time, however it was worth it when I realised that I was in the heart of Pantanal.
Although the boat trip was a very pleasant unexpected extra, I was concerned with the boat driver's cruel handling of the fish he caught when he was play acting for the passengers.
Wonderful place to stay in Pantanal! Full comfort in surroundings of rich wild nature. Note, that one night price includes 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and one free excursion (boat trip or horce riding), therefore the price is not so high. Meals are various and good. We strongly recommend evening boat excursion - you will see a lot of wildlife on the background of fantastic sunset.
Staff did not speak English. But probably in high season they have somebody who speaks.
Good hotel, not the most cheap one but all accomodation in the Pantanal is expensive. If you visit, you understand why. It is far from everything. Worth to mention that price is for full board. Rooms are basic but clean. Food is also basic,"farmer style" but good and there is always a variety of choice. Staff is helpfull but none speaks English. Despite that they try to do their best. Andre is truly lovely and took us on a horse back trip and a trip to the next lodge when we where to only guests in the hotel for the Monday where he picked fruit with the kids. The boat trip is very nice as well. Our children enjoyed the nice pool but most of all the Piranha fishing in front of the hotel! Overall a nice stay!
