Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room all not working. Tiles missing from pool shower room, pool was only 3.5 feet deep, the hotel in general was in a state of disrepair
Your elevator were out of order and it isn't good for pestana hotel
Didn't live up to the pictures. It was disappointing given the price and in comparison to the other places we stayed at for a similar amount elsewhere in Brazil. Decor a little tired, needs an update. Two days there were no towels for the pool. Food mediocre to inedible. Building being built right outside our window which will soon obscure some of the view.
Pool, location, room size
Sauna, hot tub and steam room all not working. Pool was too cold, breakfast was ok at best, rooms were in need of upgrades. Not a good value for the money. Could do much better.
Facilities were poor, dirty and broken.
The pool and gym seemed nice. Staff were quite helpful and friendly.
Room was not cleaned properly Saw cockroaches in bathroom Kitchenette had no utensils Remote for TV wasn't correct remote Maintenance on the room hadn't been done in a long time No creature comforts which you'd expect from a room costing £150GBP. I felt like they didn't care about the detail. In most other countries when you pay this kind of money you'd get the equivalent value. Had I of paid £60-70GBP I wouldn't have been so bothered about the above, it's just it didn't warrant what they were charging.
Beautiful location with amazing view over the sea, and nice design for the hotel.
At this hotel it has very bad service from the staff that is at the swimming pool. I will call it more ore less self service at this area!
Rooms in the lodge were big and comfortable.
Service was very poor: -check-in took 1 hour. -maids not leaving towels or cleaning the room well. - staff not very polite. Not far from the worst 5* Prestana I've been to!
Breakfast staff were great. The staff at the hotel however was very slow and non informative. We had to wait close to an hour for drinks at the bar.

The infinity pool at the lodge was very nice.
The staff did not clean our room despite two requests to do so. The service in the lobby was horrible. But going to sleep in a dirty room after paying >$500 per night is unacceptable
-the best pool on the city! Gorgeous view! -u have acces to regular Pestana facilities also -quite big , fancy and comfortable room -good free wifi -good breakfast included -we were allowed remain on the pool after checkout and before head to airport -AMAZING view on the top of regular Pestana
-the staff are TOTTALY unprepared. Nobody knows nothing! The laziness is predominant. -all extras are extremely pricy! -jacuzzi and sauna weren't working -parking REALLY far from reception and even more from the room -cutlery , cups and napkins remains on the table during all the night waiting the breakfast in the morning!!! Birds and rats probably walk around them during the night!!
Most of the staff was excelent and very nice. The view was breathtaking. The lodge was so nicelly decorated... My lodge felt like home. I would surelly recommend the lodges.
Right in front of us the waiter at the pool bar took ice from the fridge with his bare hands and put it in our drinkd. Makes you wonder how they handel the food when you are not watching. The jacuzzi had no bubbles. It clearly needs being fixed or replaced. Room service always took about an hour. The hotel taxi service has no taximeter (they say the use fixed fares) and is much more expensive than the normal taxis with taximeter. Its worth going down the driveway and getting a regular taxi.

The lodge was surprising and we enjoyed the stay there. Pool wonderful and the surranding with small restaurants and the beach good. We would recommend it!

Choice of restaurants is too limited. Restaurant in Lodge area closed for dinner - only restaurant open was buffet-restaurant of main hotel. Pool of Lodge very nice, but too crowded as door to main hotel would allow anybody in (Key of Lodge officially be needed, but door was wide open throughout whole day!)
We stayed at Pestana Bahia Lodge Residence between Jan 1-3, 2014. We noticed that we had booked the wrong dates as we were going from the airport to the hotel. Upon arrival the check-in lady told us that the lodge is full and told us to go to the computer center if we needed to book another hotel without offering to help us. We went to the computer center but as we were exhausted after a long flight we decided to go back up to the front desk and have them help us. When we got to the front desk another person received us and told us that although the lodge is full, their standard hotel right in the same building as the lodge has availability which the first clerk completely forgot to tell us and was about to send us to another hotel. As the rooms in the hotel were cheaper than the ones in the lodge, which we had paid for fully, we asked if we could get those rooms for free. He asked the manager and the manager told us that “there was nothing he could do for us” and that we had to do a brand new reservation and pay for another 2 nights which was ridiculous as he was the manager and if anybody could have helped us it would be him. The hotel is in need of help as it is advertised as a high class hotel but the room was like a motel room, the bathroom smelled like Porta Potties at construction sites, and the room service sent us the wrong food. We went to the lodge pool which was supposedly better than their regular hotel pool and the water was very dirty and at the corner of the pool it looked like a kid had puked or had a bowl movement which I pointed out to the staff but they just dismissed it by saying it is sun screen mixed with dead skin cells, wonderful. The buffet at the hotel was ok but the grounds you were looking at while eating was full of trash. The staff was not helpful and tried to overcharge us on food, bar, and the rooms but that seems to be the general attitude towards foreigners or gringos as they call us.
The view and the swimming pool were fantastic.

Really bad surprise checking-out : this hotel charges services taxes by day and for any service you use or pay in the hotel. Our bill was more that 200 US dollars more than expected for a 3-day stay...!!! Quality of food : not tasty Quality of shampoo and soap : bad The hotel is quite far from the center of rio vermelho
I like the facilities , the room size, and the location.
The staff is poorly trained. I requested early check in and arrived at 9 am. There were rooms available however the front desk attendant forgot about my request and left me waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes at the lobby . The rooms are not very much cared for . There are missing lamps and light bulbs , also, it smelled a bit like mold due to recent rain. The staff is not very well trained specially the front desk. During my wait a requested water and they couldn't provide me. Also, when they sent me to the room, there were no bellman available so I had to take my 3 pieces of luggage up to the other property. I stayed for 8 days. The front bar/restaurant closes during lunch time!!! ?!!!???!!!?
The view and the breakfast buffet were great.
