Score from 579 reviews Good
The pool it's amazing. Hotel is really big. Breakfast it's very good but the room is too noisy and full of people.
Great location and breakfast
The hotel desperately need a revamp. The glass Windows in the restaurant ocean view are dirty and stained, there were some kind of reflux in the toilet and smells really bad. They also charged 5% fee for booking with the website plus 10% service charges which I was told was compulsory.
Locations and ocean view.
Staff, room service. Staff doesn't help us to solve any a simple problem( there was no room service menu). After ask for dinner using the room service, we cancel it 2:30 hours later and after more 45 minutes they sent to our room what we have asked.
Fantastic view and location.
Poor reception, cleanliness, staff doesn't help with basic information and room service terrible.
Service and location
I think the pillows should be changed
banheiro exalando mau cheiro, chuveiro entupido
The view was very nice. Courteous English speaking staff over the phone. The spa was a great relief for me too.
There shower drain was not draining easily because of a clog. I was told it was fixed, but it still kept accummulating water. There was also leak from outside so water was draining out to the room. Always had to put up the do not disturb sign coz there was one time the security barged in while was sleeping, didn't understand what the problem was only he asked if i had a problem.
Big bed Good shower Nice view
Ugly from the outside No hotel beach
The hotel itself was brilliant, the location, facilities and level of comfort pretty impressive.
The staff were not very helpful, with the exception of two staff members.. Marcus and Michele, who went out of their way to help me and delivered an excellent level of customer service. The air conditioning needs updating, I overheard from staff members that it is about 20years old and I certainly felt it when I kept it on high mode. I woke up quite often with a dry throat which wouldn't go away till I left my room.
The location of the hotel is great. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff is incredibly slow to reply to any queries. Bad Service!! My room rates were charged at a higher price than my booking at booking.com and after 2 weeks I am still waiting for my refund...
View from balcony over Salvador. Decent place with decent price.
The breakfast is the same as years ago. Also it is not of quality.
Room service was awful. Asked for new towels and they never brought. Asked for remote control, it was brought 40 minutes after the request. Hotel generally looks old. Does not have good attractions.
Breakfast and services
- Very nice and helpful staff - The sea view from the room
This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. We would rate it at the most as a 4 star and not a very good one: - The hotel is old and needs urgent refurbishment of all areas. - Bath linen is ridiculously worn out. The same for the pool towels. - Breakfast is not bad but not up to a 5 start level, more like a 3 star. - There is no proper light in the hotel ramp access. - You will have to take a taxi if you want to go anywhere in Salvador. The upside is that there are always taxis parked by the hotel and they are not expensive anyway.
When we checked out, Pestana tried to charge us more than we agreed through booking.com. We showed the woman our reservation but she challenged us - she said that rates sometimes change. We refused to pay anything more than we booked through booking.com. She argued for a while, then brought another man to argue with us. In the end, they agreed that we should only pay what we agreed through booking.com, but the whole checkout process was 30 minutes long and very frustrating. We left Pestana 1 hour 25 minutes before our flight and reached the airport exactly 35 minutes before the flight. We had to run to the check in kiosk, run through security, and run to the gate. Very unpleasant, and we literally would have missed the flight had we been a few minutes longer at Pestana. The way we were treated at checkout was so unpleasant that I would not choose to stay at Pestana again.
My wife and I loved the view and the ability to relax by the pool, or workout, or go to the lounge. The staff continually exceeded my expectations.
The hotel is great, but you can see signs of wear and tear, especially on the exterior. Nevertheless, the staff was great, and made sure that our stay was excellent.
The rooms seemed a bit worn
This hotel, probably built in 1970's, has had its day. Shabby, dirty and not pleasant. The bathroom towels look like they've been used to clean the floor with beforehand. Next time I visit Salvador, I'm gonna give ibis or mercure a try instead which are right next door
The hotel was dated and staff disappointing ..... Had blood stain on sheets upon checking in
Location we perfect.Staff and security were friendly. Grate lobby with comfort.good breakfast.
Inside my room the toilet sink was not flushing sometime. At least once a day . I reported to the house keeping but was never fixed during 06bnights stay. Sauna and steam room was not on most of the time depite calling them and complaining. Very old equipment in the Gym area..
wifi password codes, jacuzzi not working,
The view from my room was breathtaking! It was wonderful to wake up in the morning with the sound of the waves breaking on the beach :-) The restaurant serves delicacies of the local cuisine (cookies, tropical fruits, juices, cakes, breads...) Staff is friendly and helpful. They have free WiFi (10 mbps)
The hotel needs a renovation and painting in the public areas.
Super Sea view ! Confort on the room. Our room was renovated and it was really nice !
Many maintenance details still to work on it on entire hotel
Nice location, clean rooms
