The rooms seemed a bit worn
The hotel was dated and staff disappointing ..... Had blood stain on sheets upon checking in
Location we perfect.Staff and security were friendly. Grate lobby with comfort.good breakfast.
Inside my room the toilet sink was not flushing sometime. At least once a day . I reported to the house keeping but was never fixed during 06bnights stay. Sauna and steam room was not on most of the time depite calling them and complaining. Very old equipment in the Gym area..
wifi password codes, jacuzzi not working,
The view from my room was breathtaking! It was wonderful to wake up in the morning with the sound of the waves breaking on the beach :-) The restaurant serves delicacies of the local cuisine (cookies, tropical fruits, juices, cakes, breads...) Staff is friendly and helpful. They have free WiFi (10 mbps)
The hotel needs a renovation and painting in the public areas.
Super Sea view ! Confort on the room. Our room was renovated and it was really nice !
Many maintenance details still to work on it on entire hotel
Nice location, clean rooms
Hotel is outdated and the swimming pool is small.
The staff was very nice.,the location high on the point on the ocean took you away from the hub-bib and made for a relaxing setting. Open air gym was very nice. The location 10 minutes from the barra beach was convenient. The free breakfast was great
Cabs sometimes not available as fast as you might like
Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Hotel is a few years past its prime.
The pool at the lodge and the view and the large suite/appartment.
The buffet in the
staff were so helpful and friendly, and the location was amazing.
they should to take more care of clearance.
The location is very good and the hotel is nice.
The hotel needs a lot of repairing. It is becoming old!
We'd loved the Pestana Bahia Lodge, connected to but a different property from the 23-story building. The old building is in the beginning stages of being refurbished and definitely is not some place I/wewould be comfortable staying. The lodge was fabulous - one of the best locations ever! The staff changed our room at our request.
There is no access to the beach for walking.
the breakfast, the pool area and the people that work there, the general manager from Portugal and the guy that works in the pool bar Mr.Vidigal, and the cleaning girl in the room are very nice.
The music in the pool is too loud and only axe music and pagode, needs to mix
Location; pool; B'fast; view!!
Got caught naked by a staff in my bedroom without knocking my door; on my segond day stay was found a another single bed while I was aready in the room; Bathroom is very old ad so the tv; the gym is very poor with old machines ( got hurt by it); - on my last night I had nothing to do in my hotel though, there was jammil on the roof performing; very bad communication and interest to please customers informing about evening in the hotel.
The view of the room is wonderfull
The cleanning was not good, there was several bugs in the floor, and the price charged was not correspondent to the service,it is not a 5 star hotel only for the nice view it is.
Location and internet access
Old and dirty
Good location Good breakfast
Air conditioning: not working Safebox: not working Ammenities: poor Inefficient staff TV set: very old Frigobar: poor Bathroom: too small
Room Furniture too old Bathroom badly maintained Breakfast could be of higher quality
Breakfast was good
* No flat screen
The front desk staff was very helpful. The breakfast was good.
The lady (blondish hair) at the tour desk was very rude and indifferent to my wanting to book a tour. She claimed that she doesn't take credit cards only cash and could not charge the tour to my room. This was quite an inconvenience, having to find a bank ATM. Also the front desk did not do foreign currency exchange. For a 5 star hotel with international quest, this is unacceptable. When I arrived at the airport at 2am, there was no sign of an airport shuttle as advertised. And I had to take a cab. When I got to the hotel to ask to have my US$ converted to R$, Front Desk staff told me they don't this. I had to over pay the taxi in US$. Very bad start to my vacation.
The location is amazing. The pool area is pretty good. The view from the hotel room is very good. Breakfast was good
The hotel is old. In dire need of refurbishment. The check-in took a very long time. The service is very poor. We used one of the taxi´s from outside the hotel. He charged me almost double price of what is normal for the ride. Only reception can give out the code for wi-fi. Not value for money in my opinion
The hotel offers the best value for money I have ever found. The location of the hotel, right on the Salvador bay, must be one of the best anywhere. The hotel is very spacious, well-planned and decorated. It is 23 stories high (great for the view from rooms, and there are several very fast, efficient elevators) and the building is an impressive piece of 70's/80's architecture. The rooms are also spacious, well-decorated, clean and reasonably up-to-date and every one has the most fantastic view of the sea and coast-line out of huge window. The pool and surrounding area and bar are big and right above the sea, and there is also a gym, jacuzzi, sauna and massage/beauty clinic. The breakfast is excellent, with a very wide choice of warm dishes and other. We had one buffet dinner also in the upstairs bar area, which was also fantastic value and offered a very good range of excellent Brazilian food. There was also an excellent musician playing. Overall, staff are helpful, friendly and efficient, and the rooms cleaned very well. The hotel is at the end of a quiet street in Rio Vermelho, with a number of interesting restaurants, with a much more lively bar area a 5 minute walk away. For the price of accommodation like this, it is hard to be negative, even if there are a few defects.
Wi-fi was quite poor in room, with continuous drop-outs, though at least it was free. (In common-areas it is much better). The pool could be kept more clean throughout the day as it gets a bit greasy and dirty at one end, though earlier in day it is fine. Gym needs updating and jacuzzi was not working properly and one part of sauna not at all. At the pool area, towels could run out quickly but were not replaced quickly. Service to room was slow sometimes, for example getting through to reception on phone in the first place, and subsequent fulfilment of request.
The hotel is old-dated, with visible lack of maintenance. Despite the good location and wonderful views, the poor conservation and unprepared staff left me a bad impression about this hotel. It's far from a 4-star hotel. On the high season the breakfast area and staff are not enough for the amount of people.
